We very much enjoyed our dinners-Love the atmosphere
What is terrific place for Sunday brunch! The food was delicious and plentiful. The service was outstanding. This brunch is an excellent value and will not disappoint.
Beautiful historic building and unique menu of local food. Highly recommend for nice date night.
A bit spicy and too many entrees with rice - please add variety! We ate downstairs in the wine cellar and it was very warm and quiet it was perfect. The food was good for the price.
Wonderful atmosphere. Great food. Outstanding service!! We will be back.
We love the Inn however, this time it was exceptionally slow and did not seem very busy. We did choose to sit Outside, which seemed to be the forgotten area. We arrived at 6 and didn’t get to see our waitress to order drinks until about 25 minutes after being seated. Then my salad came after my meal because they forgot it. Again, I’m a patient person so I just enjoyed the evening out, but I do not think I will sit outside again.
Food was excellent! Service was excellent! A little Jazz in the bar area made for a great ambience. We will definitely be back with friends.
We went for our Anniversary and had a great meal. We were seated in the wine cellar and had Leland as our server. Ambiance was great, food was good, prices were fair, and service was great. What more can you ask for?
Sunday Brunch. Beautiful old restored mill. Staff very friendly and very attentive. Other than that it was by far the worse Brunch I've ever attended. Omelets were overcooked, potatoes were hard as rocks. There was no bread to speak of and what was available was old and stale. The pastries & desserts were dry & stale. There were steamer trays of dinner options but very few breakfast / brunch choices unless you count the obviously deep fried bacon clumped together. The 'Carving Station" consisted of Roast Beef- that was it. No seafood, bagles, smoked salmon--there was a steamer of very overcooked, dry glazed salmon. And for $30 they need to up their game.
MyronG, We're glad to see that you enjoyed the service and ambience, but sorry to hear that you were disappointed in the food options available. We normally get very positive reviews about our Sunday Brunch buffet, including the carved slow roasted prime rib (roast beef) and we find that the balance of omelets, breakfast pastries, bacon, sausage, and homefries satisfies most of our guests' breakfast requests allowing them to also enjoy the additional hot entrees.
lovely setting, great quality food and service.
Lovely evening. Delicious food accompanied by excellent service. We were chilly in the downstairs dining area. We should have requested moving. I’m sure they would have been accommodating
wonderful mood set at twilight in fountain room to music and candles...two dine for one price generous...appetizers best...keep up the good work...you are really getting it right by saving the structure and serving affordable food.
Great atmosphere. Food was good. However, the variety was overstated on the website and was a bit disappointing. Desserts were fine, but nothing stood out. Worth going. Quality meal. I think I just hyped it up too much in my head.
Good food, great service, quiet atmosphere.
First time there, had a wonderful dinner but wanted to see more information on staying the night
My friends and I had a wonderful time with great food, service, (staff was super) and the place is beautiful!!!
Excellent venue for "fine" dining. The food was excellent as well as the service. A little crowed in some sections when you can over hear those at adjacent tables. This is the second or third time we have been at the Glen Rock Mill Inn and have always had great food and service.
Will definitely return and want to try their Sunday brunch. Food was fresh and beautifully presented.
Building is a converted mill that provides a warm and calm atmosphere with low noise level so conversation is easy.
Dress is casual but if you want to dress up a bit - go for it.
Definitely a great place for an adult night out.
Food was way too salty. Nice presentation though.
The experience was very professional and personal. From seating to the very last contact we had was just outstanding. Very relaxing and service was top notch. Thank you for an amazing evening.
Wait staff, ambiance, food... Impeccable. Would definitely recommend to all who are going out for a special occasion or just a different scene !!!!
I love going here. It’s such a nice place and the staff is attentive without being overly hovering and the food is delicious! We were seated in the fountain room which is always lovely. This is the kind of restaurant you take out of town company😀 definitely recommend!
Went there for a special birthday with a friend and she enjoyed everything. I could not afford to go there every week but would suggest the mill for special occasions .
Just a minor issue; spoiled cherry tomatoes in my husbands salad. However, our meals were delicious—desserts, also wonderful. So happy to have a fine restaurant so close to home.
Our last visit to the Glen Rock was a little disappointing. We really like the Inn and wish the owner well but they need to improve some things to justify their reputation. One of our diners got the Seafood Trio; the scallops were huge but undercooked so raw in the middle, the shrimp were likewise good sized but overcooked! The fish was just OK. They did like the side that came with it. Drinks were also good. Another member of our party got the pork special which was overcooked, dry and came with three small slices of pork and a meagre amount of the delicious sauce. Overall we were a little disappointed with our meals but will return perhaps for lunch some time.
For our 40th wedding anniversary we were greated with a bubbly champagne followed by an amuse - pickled watermelon radish and other succulents from the farm. Entree was fabulous - very attentive wait staff. Highly recommend for a special occasion or simply a week night out.
I recommended this to a friend who also likes to bicycle since it's located along the Heritage Rail Trail which is very pretty and fun to ride. The mill building and history are very interesting and the owner took time to give us a tour which we really enjoyed.
Our table was ready when we arrived a few minutes early. No waiting. The room filled up and was kinda noisy until the waitstaff got every ones orders. There was an older waitress who was kinda loud and distracting. The service was fine, the food delicious (menu has good choices) We were happy to find our favorite wine from a local winery on the menu. We were a little disappointed in the desserts - thought they are probably not all made in house but should be. Will return.
We have tried again and again to love this place since it’s right down the street. The Sunday brunch has gotten great reviews but we haven’t gone because we just can’t justify the price. Since it was Fathers Day and the brunch featured some extra goodies, we decided to give it a try. My husband talked about the prime rib all morning, he was so excited to try it. What a disappointment when we saw the piece of meat on the carving station, it was well done, the entire slab. I asked the carver if they had any medium (we really prefer medium rare but medium would have sufficed) and he said, not at this time. So there’s that. A good chef should know to have all manners of doneness when carving beef....especially since it’s the signature food on the buffet!! The salmon and ribs were also over cooked. My son couldn’t even eat his ribs. The oysters on the half shell were not cut through so one had to dig it out of the shell and they were not very good oysters. But all was not lost! The following were delicious: cream of crab soup, omelettes, waffles, BACON, crab legs and cake!
The place is definitely making progress but we still don’t feel like we can go and be absolutely certain our meal will be delicious. The absolute best meal we had there was the wine dinner last November. Spectacular start to finish. We will continue to try but not sure it will ever be our “go to” restaurant.
This was our first time. We went to the Father's Day Brunch and it was delicious and the whole experience was terrific. We will be back.
The food was excellent. Our waitress was very attentive and so friendly. We were seated right next to the corner fountain which added to our wonderful dining experience. I was dining with my wife and she just fell in love with everything there. We will definitely return.
Really liked the 2 dine for $39 deal. We were able to try some menu items that I might have not tried otherwise. The beef short ribs were very tasty.
Fabulous and creative food. Great service. A new go to place.
Food was super. I had the special fish with the Chardonnay wine pairing that was perfect. The fish had a delightful compote of strawberries and rhubarb, served with rice and green beans and yellow beans. The desert was crieme brûlée. What a lovely evening!
The entire experience was great!!! I will absolutely be returning!!
We love the Glen Rock Mill Inn and we are fortunate to live nearby -- although it would be worth the commute if you don't live close! The food is great and the Mill itself is historic and inviting. We took advantage of the Wednesday special where 2 guests can dine for $39. The menu for the Special is somewhat limited but everyone in our party found something that interested them. It's a great value and the wine (which isn't included in the special) was reasonably priced. We will keep coming back!
The food was okay, but it wasn't great, while the price I paid warranted better food.
This place was so nice. They were very accommodating when traffic slowed us down. The food was delicious and the service was great. The only reason I didn’t give them 5 stars was the mimosas. All their advertisements showed that mimosas were only $1. Apparently that is not true on holidays. It was very frustrating as I wouldn’t of ordered any if I would have known. I heard other tables complaining about the same thing. They need to make new advertisements or at least have their waiters inform the table prior to ordering.
The Glen Rock Mill Inn Mother's Day Sunday Brunch was the best brunch we have ever had, and we've been to many brunches in many fine restaurants. The selection was huge and interesting, from standards to original dishes. Everything was beautifully prepared and delicious. Service was terrific. We have also been to their regular Sunday Brunch and Dinner. They were a little less ambitious than the Mother's Day spread, but every bit as delicious and well presented. Highly recommended anytime.
