The restaurant itself looks chic, and modern. The lighting is great and right away you would expect above average food for a suburb rearaurant!
HOWEVER, the food was terrible! I ordered the short rib sandwich, and the rib was dry, and the toasted bread was so SOGGY that it just fell apart with out even taking a bite. My wife ordered the sliders and they literally came with bun and dry meat. No condiments, no arugula or some jam to spread. Dry as can be.
The drinks were just ok.
I had high hopes for this place, but unfortunately, I will not see myself going back
for a winery, the selection of wines were low, the first two I ordered were out. I wish they would point out BEFORE the bill comes, that they are adding 3% surcharge for COVID relief.
Everything was great. Not 5star fabulous, but great!
So loud that you could not carry on a conversation. 4 out of the six meals ordered were not very good. They did comp the worst meal. Will not go back.
We were celebrating a birthday and hesitant when we saw the remarks of slow service before we booked. We love the food so we booked anyway. Service was quick and the servers were excellent!! We had a great time and will definitely be back!
Overall it was a good first experience. The service was excellent and very attentive.
The eggplant which is highlighted on the menu as a house specialty was very dry, overcooked and just warm. The dish was edible but not what I expected. The spaghetti it was placed on was very hot. The goat cheese bites and jambalaya were very good, surprised how large the shrimp were in the dish. We would return.
Food was great service ok. Long waits but nothing unexpected during these times. Will definitely be back.
Decent establishment, everyone was very nice. Service and food were just okay. Tables were not very big.
Started off with the bacon wrapped shrimp and calamari. Calamari was undercooked but shrimp was good. We had the soy salmon, crab cakes, and chicken Marsala. Service was really slow. They brought out the appetizers late and as we were eating this our meals came out about the same time. The soy salmon was supposed to have wasabi mashed potatoes but it was just regular potatoes and salmon was ok. Crab cakes were good. The chicken Marsala was not good at all. The noodles were over cooked and the sauce was watery which made the whole dish lack flavor. I mentioned to the waitress that it wasn’t good as I ate less than half and she just said sorry. The service was extremely slow. Had to ask for water refills twice and. Our dishes weren’t cleared even when they brought us dessert. The highlight of the night was the dessert. The cheesecake was very good and carrot cake was also good. Overall disappointed and probably won’t come back. This was our first time trying the place. We were hoping it would be a new occasional dinner place.
Great food, drinks, customer service, experience.
We will go back for sure. Nice place and the menu selections were good! Pasta marinara sauce could use a little more flavor, that is my only negative. Service was terrific and they seated us at the time of our reservation which was great!
Really enjoyed our time here. Great ambiance for a date night.
What a great place. Ambiance was so cute. The pasta rich, and delicious. Appetizers were the 💣. Can't wait to go back.
Hidden gem! The food was delicious and it was very nicely decorated. I would definitely go again.
Goat and Vine is our new favorite place for dinner and drinks. The staff is super friendly and the food is super good! We will definitely be a regular!
We sat in the bar area at a high top table. The service and food were both exceptional.
Would definitely go there again.
Cocktails were niche balanced. Generous entre servings. Baked goat cheese appetizer was delicious
We arrived for our first visit ever and the host and hostess were accommodating in preparing our table and giving us information on the tasting counter.
We proceeded to the tasting counter and the tasting hostess explained our options. We chose the red wine tasting and the wines were good and gave us an idea of what wines we could have with what dinner choices we were thinking of.
Our friends arrived and we proceeded to our table for dinner. Our waitress was prompt and took our drink order also answering a question concerning one dish the menu.
Most of our bar drinks arrived and we asked for a little time to review and place our order. One couple had to wait for some reason as they ordered a bottle of wine. The wine took a while (about 5 minutes) to arrive. Kind of weird for a wine centered restaurant in my mind. Bar drinks get to the table prior to a bottle of wine.
Once the waitress arrived with the wine, she promptly took our orders for our dinners. 3 members of our party ordered pasta dishes and policy is that a second take home pasta is given free with an order of pasta. Our waitress also took those free orders at this time.
Our food came without delay. Everyone liked their dish. Nothing overwhelming great and making us want to cone back but good and of good quality.
After dinner we stayed for about an hour having some conversation as the couples have not seen each other in several years. We ordered another round of drinks.
This is where things fell apart.
No one came and cleared the table of our dirty dishes even after bringing our to go containers for the dinners we could not complete. When the waitress came and picked up the check she also informed those who had pre-ordered at the beginning of the meal the free take home lasagna that it was not available, they had to choose a different pasta dish. No answer as to why a dish on the menu is no longer available so we are only led to believe that they gave it all away including our pre-order.
Great overall 1st impression- delicious food, reasonable portions, excellent California wine options, & comfortable ambiance! We’ll definitely return!
The Goat and Vine is like a boutique wine tasting restaurant. The food is good and they have a nice selection of wines. Unfortunately they don’t have a lot of option for the gluten free or vegan customers.
The outside is nice, the decor inside is nice at first glance. The server, Carli was very good and cheerful. It would have been nice if someone refilled our wine and water glasses, but otherwise it was fine. The food--not great, especially at the $30+ price point. The Brussel sprout dish is amazing! From there it was downhill. Overcooked filet, the broccoli tasted toxic...seriously, it was in-eatable. Mashed potatoes were good, but they use them as a filler to make the plate look full. The short ribs were very small and one of the 3 morsels was all fat.
For a winery, the wine was mediocre at best.
I'd go back for the brussel sprouts and perhaps a second app and a cocktail, but that's about all.
We had reservations for our anniversary. They place us in the bar section and not the main dining section. Plus, I place a request in the notes for 2 dozen Long Stern Roses. They said they don't do that through Open Table. However, when I go through that app with other reservations. They have no problem. I won't be going back. $122.00 for 2 glasses of wine and 2 plates of pasta and 2 appetizers and 1 dessert. Ugh!!!
Love this place.
Our go to for lunch/dinner.
Great service with an amazing atmosphere.
Good food & wine options.
Good food ,low lighting ,nice setting.family friendly
Nice place, very good service. Limited menu, that was not well executed. We had the crispy brussels sprouts which were delicious, crispy with just a bit of spiciness. For entrees, we had the short rib Bolognese pasta, and surf and turf with crab cake with skirt steak. The pasta was cooked perfectly, the sauce was delicious, and the short rib tender. The crab cake was a bit dry, and bland, the sauce did not help. The skirt steak was done a perfect medium rare, although it was tough. The chimichurri sauce overpowered, rather than enhancing the flavor of the steak. The accompanying selected sides of roasted vegetables, and Parmesan Roasted Wedge Potatoes were average. Oddly, the potatoes were not wedges, but were whole red potatoes.
Overall, a decent meal. Just don't see it being worth the menu prices when there are many other options in the area that would be as good for considerably less.
Sooo many fake plants…everywhere…like a distracting amount of fake plants… no joke, 80+ fake potted house plants, I counted. Not including the the entire walls and ceilings covered in fake vines.
Also thought the 3% Covid charge “but we can take it off your bill if you ask” was odd.
Food was good. You take home a free pasta if you order a pasta. Which you also have to ask for. Overall good.
Everything was 5 stars
Great service, delicious food. Definitely recommend
Very good overall
Can’t wait to dine wine bar
A surprise visit from my son. Everything was so delicious. The coffee, however, was awful. Can you find a better coffee choice? Looking forward to another reservation soon
We had dinner with our friends . First time eating her had a great time good was great! Would come back.
Food was good but the dressing was poured all over the top of the salad - way too soggy. The pasta is always terrific and a good deal with the Bogo. Disappointed that my favorite wine was not available - out of stock. A hit or miss visit this time.
Some of the food was raw and didn’t taste good. They added a covid charge to the bill and didn’t explain it or tell us about it beforehand.
My daughter didn’t like the taste of her meal and the waitress never asked why she didn’t eat her meal or try and make it better.
Waitress was kind of rude.
Been here multiple times. Food has been excellent and service has been great.
Service was exceptional.
Food was great.
A beautiful restaurant with amazing service!!!! My new favorite place and just signed up for the wine club membership because it was so good!!
Goat and Vine never disappoints. Another great experience
Same type of set up and pricing like coopers hawk. However the food was not very good and not worth the price. Skip it and eat at coopers instead.
