The best music EVER
I’m not trying to be mean- I want this to be constructive.... but we were seated, given water, and then never checked on again. I stood up and flagged down a random waiter and explained that we were still waiting to be served.... he said somebody would be right over. We waited another 20 minutes before deciding to leave. It was absolutely ridiculous. I understand mistakes happen but I was disappointed because I really wanted that avocado toast.
Totally enjoyed it. The outside seating and atmosphere is outstanding.
We drove to Santa Barbara and wanted to have lunch at Goat tree. The Avocado toast with a side of bacon was amazing! So fresh and a thick piece of bread. Very cute!
We arrived as a couple for breakfast during the labor day weekend. The seating was prompt and the patio looked fresh. The service, however, was a bit slow, disorganized, and stretched, despite it being an averagely populated area.
We had the avocado toast, which was the highlight of the meal. Everything else - the GT burger, the berry lemonade, the mimosa, etc, were average at best. Not worth the effort or the money.
Note to self: come here for the ambience and not for the food.
The service was very slow. We were lucky a waiter helped us out and took our order after 45 minutes of being seated. Overall great place with great ambiance.
Great local spot
Loved the outdoor space. Loved the tree lighting, great server, food was good, their cocktail special was AWESOME
Great location for people watching. Life everywhere with bustling intersection and popular ice cream shop next door.
Food was really good. We enjoyed the hummus plate, smash burger, orichette (sp?) pasta with lamb and goat cheese cake. Average pricing for a Santa Barbara (which tends to be high).
Lovely lunch under the palm trees. Good food and very friendly service.
We were pleasantly surprised by the location - loved the outdoors dining among the palm trees all lit up. But even more surprising was the cooking. Everything we had, from salad to main dishes were delicious. The salmon came out perfectly cooked. So was the pasta with bits of pork belly, mushrooms and some addictively concocted sauce. Service was a bit uneven since some drinks we had ordered came late, but once we did receive everything, we enjoyed a lot the cocktails, wines and non-alcoholic drinks.
Very professional service
Superb food and fantastic choices
Lovely restaurant with amazing patio seating overlooking State Street. Enjoyed the lemon ricotta pancakes and the lavender honey over chia seed parfait.
Very friendly host. Delicious food. Nice outdoor seating area
Menu was a bit limited and the food itself was very basic. The ambiance is beautiful so that helped a lot. I would recommend sitting there for a drink or two, but would not recommend for dinner.
Special credit to the waiter who provided us several wine tastings until we found the perfect bottle. One of the most beautiful spots. The food is always beautiful and delicious.
Great outdoor experience on the patio. Our server was really lovely, albeit quite busy at times. We had breakfast/brunch, and particularly enjoyed some high quality bacon.
Completely disorganized. Took our order and never put it in. Staff walking around looking confused. We left without eating.
We arrived at 7:45 and food didn’t arrive until 9:30 pm.
Awful. Really poor service. It takes about 2 hours to get your food...if they see you. Really need to get the service thing down
great food good ambiance
The food was amazing. Salmon Toast was great! The atmosphere it awesome.
First time to Goat Tree! It was a fabulous experience. Thank you.
Such a cool location, and the food was decent, but the service and the drinks were deplorable. You can tell the waitstaff is overworked and understaffed. Our server was the bartender, food runner, host, busser, and cashier for at least 5 other tables besides ours. It ruined the experience for us, especially since it wasn’t a cheap restaurant. On the sidelines, it looked like staff members were arguing with each other, and no one helped anyone else. For this, I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant, even though the location is ideal, and the ambience was up-lifting.
It was a perfect night to dine outside and Goat Tree has a nice patio for that. The server and manager were very nice and helpful but seemed busy and hard to get a hold of when we needed something. The menu is a little limited but everything we had was tasty!
Another delicious meal with meticulous service. They don’t advertise their plant based menu, which is a shame because it’s got a half a dozen items that are all really good. This is a secret gem for vegans like me. But the main menu looks very satisfying forr those who eat animals.
Ann, the hostess was most welcoming and our server Bobby was very knowledgable about the menu. We started with the artichoke and were impressed with the flavors and presentation. We also enjoyed the octopus, brussels sprouts and branzino. We finished with the black swan. Every dish was delicious, beautifully presented. The flavors were subtle and enhanced each dish. I have never tasted combinations like the creative chef at Blackbird offers. No other restaurant is as creative and delicious as Blackbird.
We had dinner for Santa Barbara restaurant week. Our meal was beautifully presented and delicious. Our server was friendly and attentive. All around a fantastic evening
Excellent service and very interesting menu! Wonderful cocktail list.
Blackbird is in our experience the best value for restaurant week. Each course was excellent. The crab puffs were amazing. The salmon was very tasty but a tad undercooked. The brûlée was beautifully presented and very yummy. The chiramoya dessert was difficult to break into. I would avoid that in the future.
As for the service, we were seated immediately with our reservation and were greeted by a wonderful server. He was very pleasant and knowledgeable about everything on the menu and wine list. However something was going on in the kitchen. Our entree took over one hour and 15 minutes to arrive. There were 5 chefs behind the counter busily working and empty tables inside and outside. I could tell the server was embarrassed by the situation and tried to compensate by adding more wine to our glasses. Not a bad move on his part. But this was way too long to wait between appetizer and entree. Hopefully this won’t happen again but I don’t know.
We went during Santa Barbara restaurant week, and the food was phenomenal! I've never written an pentacle review before, but felt that Blackbird place deserves the praise.
This is one of my fave restaurants in SB. Food is delicious - must try the crab puffs, salmon, creme brulee and cherimoya dessert. The grilled octopus is delicious as well. Tatiana and Thomas are outstanding servers - exemplary service! Ann, the hostess, is gracious and so warm and welcoming. Blackbird's staff is incomparable!
We had the Restaurant Week dinner and the layers of flavor and ingredients were delightful. Over the top good service from server Kelly and crew.
Second year visiting for Restaurant Week. Food was amazing as usual. A slight mix-up with service but outstanding overall.
Excellent ambiance, decor is beautiful but service and food was OVER THE TOP AMAZING!!
Food was really not good. Enough said.
