Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant - Navy Yard
I love Gordon Biersch and always enjoy my meals there. Caveat - the chef needs to step away from the salt shaker! The lobster and shrimp Mac & cheese just way too much salt. Not the first time I've been disappointed by the over salting.
Let me first say that our server was great. However, the hostess didn't even greet us. The first thing she said was "are you ok with a table". Probably not the best person to have in the front which is the face of your establishment. Not only did she not greet us, but she didn't even say goodbye when we were leaving. We've been to multiple Gordon and Bierch restaurants on the east coast, and this was by far the worst one we've been to. There was no toilet paper in the bathrooms. The floor was extremely slimy and slippery with what I assume is grease. The tables around us we dirty, as if the bussers were on vacation. Obviously, I still like the brand, but I would never go to this one again. It was a terrible experience and a complete waste of $100.
Great food as always! The Summer Brau was perfect!
Caprese Flatbread is delicious! I highly recommend the sweet potato fries (ask for a side of honey to dip them in)
Good pregame meetup with my arriving 30 minutes late while my guest held the reserved table. Service was OK, and likely affected by “happy hour” attendance. Food delivery a bit slow and the “medium rare” cheeseburger was closely to very rare. Garlic fries were done well. Bar out of my requested Apple cider, offered and served rose cider as a replacement. Very easy to make a reservation . Upon arriving for my reserved table meetup, I was told that I was on my own to find my table and guest. OK bar restaurant experience... not an immediate reminder to try it again if there were other options.
Server was excellent qnd helpful. We good enjoyed what we order. Got in and out in plenty of time to go to the Nationals game.
Excellent origami dishes that are delectable and a better value than eating in the ball park! We had the Fish tacos, burgers, chicken schnitzel and pepperoni pizza among the 4 of us and all of the dishes were yummy!
The food is usually good but this eventing the flatbread was not very good and service was less than before
Good food and Good beer! The CLBT IS REALLY GOOD. The beer is brewed locally and is Nice.
Lovely ambiance - warm, welcoming but modern in appearance and good noise control. Great place to eat right before walking down the block to a game at the Nationals’ ballpark. Waitstaff is friendly and attentive. The food came out quickly and was well-prepared. The menu for alcoholic drinks is extensive and well-rounded and the food menu offered a nice variety of choices. Definitely recommend if you’re in the Capitol South neighborhood/area of Washington, DC.
After arrival we were told that there was no place for us despite our reservation. Very unpolite personnel.
We came here after a Nationals game. Restaurant is within walking distance of ball park. We did have a reservation and were seated immediately. Fast service and food was delicious!
It was one of the better GB I’ve been to. The mushroom spaetzel was excellent. However, I do miss the Barbequed Potsticker appetizer.
Server completely forgot about us and disappeared. Had to wait FAR too long for the check to come -- had to ask another server to go find ours. Reprehensible.
I always get the schnitzel but today I saw the brunch menu and had to try the crab cake egg Benedict. The crab cake was perfectly made and well seasoned. The egg was cooked to perfection and the spinach paired well. An amazing establishment and has a great atmosphere. Will be back again!
Service was great. Food was ok.
Great service by Adam! Will definitely come back next time we’re in town.
First time at the restaurant and what a great choice to dine. The booths are extremely comfy, the drinks are good and strong, the food was amazing. Had the shrimp and mango tacos it came with beans and rice and a Mango martini absolutely delish. All four of us enjoyed the drinks and food. Great service and will definitely go back again!
The best service ever!! The food is good . especially the chicken schnitzel. The burgers are juicy as well. It is a great place to go to before a Nats Game or for a good dinner.
Good place for pregame dining.
Great food! finished the whole plate. our server was excellent, gave great recommendations. REAL food, REAL people. no fake energy.
30 min wait with reservation. Sat outside, 30 min to receive drinks after ordering. Waitress never came back for food order. Ordered food from buss boy.
Needs a little cleaning.
I did not receive the correct order, by the time the server brought me my order the party I was with had finished their meals. I ended up boxing my meal and leaving very disappointed
Food was great. Service so so.
Meeting friends for baseball
Food and beer were really good, as usual. Was difficult to get refills in a timely manner, as it appeared our waitress was being used on tables outdoors as well. I would have had a third beer if I didn’t need to nurse mine so long waiting to get her attention.
It took SO LONG to bring the appetizer and when they finally did it, they brought also the entrée at the same time. The food was TOO Salty, the Caesar salad was awful. When the waitress came over to clean the table she saw that my companion barely touched the food so I made the complaint about everything. I was expecting that she would send the manager or make a discount but she didn’t do ANYTHING. Awful experience, Awful food, Awful service!
Walked in an every table in the bar was dirty (no busing). Sat at bar, had to flag down server for everything. Waited 20 minutes to put in dessert order. Waited 20 minutes to close tab out. Was not even that busy of a night. Very disappointing.
The food and beer was delicious. Our service was terrible, our waitress spent almost the entire time at the hostess stand talking so she would only come around every 20 minutes or so and it was not busy at all. We had to go inside to get salt, pepper and ketchup when the food came out. Our food also took about 45 minutes to come out.
Nice place and fun good food! Nice service from Kim ;)
Really enjoyed our lunch. Great craft beer, good burgers. The garlic fries are amazing!! Highly recommend the place.
Went in for burgers and beers before the Nationals Memorial Day game. The burger I chose was a Wagyu cheeseburger - unbelievably tasty, perfectly cooked. It was perhaps the best hamburger I have ever tasted. As you'd expect the beer was excellent, freshly made on site.
I know burger and beer may not be a big night out place, but the quality of the food and the service by our waitress were absolutely top notch.
Was seated after restaurant cleared out due to a baseball game. Service seemed to come to a stand still after everyone left. Several empty tables but took 20 minutes to get seated because no one was clearing tables. One person was brought wrong order.
This is a great place to grab a beer before the game. Friendly staff and convenient. Unfortunately I would not recommend the food. Fish tacos looked good but there was literally one tiny bite of fish. Maybe I made a bad choice but too many other good places nearby to try again
We found this restaurant while living in San Diego. It seems like it has gone a bit more casual than it used to be. The food was good (I became obsessed with the garlic fries when I was pregnant), but it felt like something was missing. I'm not sure what.. but, if you're going up against all of the other restaurants in DC, you better bring your A game every single meal.
Always enjoy my meals here. Good, varied menu with good selection. Service is outstanding. Highly recommend.
Food always decent here. Service on the other hand is always poor, served with an attitude. It took 25 minutes to get my beer. I would have purchased a second beer if I had the time but I had to get to the Nats game. Poor service cost restaurant and the dumb waiter money out of their pockets. Too many other choices around the stadium to put up with incompetence. I already see a decline in guests since years prior. No surprise there. Poorly managed and staffed. Stay away.
enjoy the beer and the food selection, especially because they change seasonally
Despite having an 8 pm reservation, upon arrival we were told we would need to wait at least 45 minutes for a table. The hostess, while apologetic, blamed the inconvenience on Open Table for allowing a reservation to be made. Reservations are meaningless on ballgame days. We won’t try this again. Circa took us without a reservation after only a few minutes wait.
