Our waitress did a great job. However, both of us had freezing cold fries with our burgers that we ordered. Our waitress did get us fresh ones. My burger wasn’t cooked the correct way and then I couldn’t even eat all of it because of the burnt parts on the outside. Such a bummer. The saving grace was the dessert with the skillet cookie. Definitely get it and share with your table. Also, ask for a table or a booth that doesn’t move when someone on the other side moves. We were glad we didn’t bring our whole family for our first time trying it. Oh, and the manager that was bringing all of the food to the tables never had his mask on correctly the whole hour we were there.
The sirloin blue cheese salad was one of the best salad's I have had in a really long time! Cheers to the chef!
Thought the food was poor. Waited for 30 minutes for a omelet. Food was cold and no option for non meat eaters. Waste of money . Felt for the amount would have been a wider selection of choices. Will not return.
Easter brunch was not that great. Ran out of prime rib, omelets were burnt, eggs benedict had a muffin you could barely cut into, and they ran out of apple cinnamon scones. We were there at 1:30.
Easter brunch. They were either under staffed or focused on covid too much. They used staff to walk buffet line instead of customers. Had to wait ~15 minutes for a single slice of prime rib to be delivered, where I could have walked up and back in under a minute (then it was over cooked and cold). Bummer!
This was a special Easter brunch meal. Many selections and each one excellent. Nice touch for the Executive Chef to stop at each table to inquire about our food. Would easily do this again.
Food wasn't warm; serving of prime rib was awful; having the line of customers go through the middle of tables made for a very unpleasant ambiance; line of customers and table spacing was not social distanced so I'm not sure why we couldn't serve ourselves.
Overall it was a decent dining experience. A few people in our group ordered off happy hour menu after asking the waiter if it was still going on. He said it was, and we ordered our items. Then when we got the bill it was clearly not happy hour prices and the waiter tried to tell us we were wrong. The bills got fixed with the exception of one item. We didn't contest the last item we just paid and left. We were not a fan of the situation since we clearly asked about the happy hour specials before placing an order. I had a coupon I also did not get to use because I figured it would be a problem after asking them to change the bill already. Food was good, fries were a little under done. Not the best dining experience but not the worst.
In town for the weekend and decided for this place as it was familiar. Decided for the shrimp tacos only to get a cold HALF shrimp in a hard flour tortilla! I showed the lettuce tacos for $15.99 to the server and she reached for my plate & “offered “ to remove it from my bill ! Not the point... bathroom appeared as if hadn’t been swept for months !
Not a lot of choices for the price. Service was slow. The waitress didn't seem to want to offer us the omlet bar or prime rib station which is unavailable for customers to order for themselves. Caramel rolls were dry!
1st time there for Sunday brunch and it was awesome. Whole family enjoyed it.
Excellent food and drinks. I will definitely be back.
Pot roast arrived cold and by the time it was brought back, the other person’s meal was cold. Very disappointing experience
Birthday brunch. Amazing options and quality.
The plates get smaller as the prices get larger. The food is not as good as it was a few years ago. We had the fish special. The fries were too salty and the breading on the fish was very thick. We got about 2 tablespoons of Cole slaw which had absolutely no taste. GC used to be one of our favorites, but no longer. Hopefully, they take these negative surveys seriously. One good point. The staff is, and always has been, friendly and courteous.
We enjoy eating at Granite city. I hope someday they will bring the pork chop back to their menu.
Have heard nothing but rave reviews about their brunch before the pandemic. Decided to finally try it. Waitress didn’t appear to want to be there. Barely saw her. Food was fair but very limited compared to what’s advertised. It shouldn’t take 20 minutes to get a plate of scrambled eggs. I would compare it to a free breakfast at a hotel but with shrimp and prime rib. Hard to write a bad review as the pandemic regulations really hurt but wow. Very disappointed. Will not come back.
Took a while for the fish. They couldn't keep up so the all you can eat fish was not the best. The waitress tried her best. It was a little busy.
The hamburgers were great the french fries were perfect our waitress was excellent but there was certainly a lag time to get the food served.
Food and service was great!! Seated immediately and enjoyed happy hour!
Without a doubt, still the best brunch in the QC area. Prime rib was extremely tender and most importantly servers were very friendly and attentive. We need to come back more often. Three people, one handed unlimited mimosas, other two had a milk and a soda....total $75. Can’t be beat.
We had a very good experience, we were socially distanced which was awesome and brunch was delicious. This was our first time out as a family in months and it was a very good experience and the employees at Granite City were very accomidating to some special needs that we had for our family. Thank you so much!
The service was great and the social distancing was perfect!
first time there and really enjoyed the food and service.
food was delicious and staff was very kind.
Good menu again. So happy you’re open. Good drink salsa.
Family dinner for nephews 21st birthday. Appreciated that all staff were properly masked and temperatures were taken prior to seating. Our waitress was great. Food quality as expected. Only disappointment was they were out of Octoberfest beer, but there were plenty of others to choose from.
Food was delicious, but could be warmer.
Yumm and fun. It was $5.00 burger night. $5.00 pitchers too.
Hard sausages that had been cooking from the beginning of Brunch & not replaced.
I was served some that couldn't even be cut!
20 min plus for eggs benedict. Obviously the cook that day couldn't get his water to boil & also couldn't taste any extremely sliced ham that was on either slice.
I could go in but why.
For $20 per person I expect a lot more for Brunch.
The menu finally has some more options on it. Better options than previously.
We no longer have granite City in west Des Moines and frequented there often. We were in the quad cities for a wedding and decided brunch was a great idea. buffet was handled great. Was disappointed couldn’t order a fried egg. Just being high maintenance.
Food was great tonight. Menu finally has some good/better items.
Too many tables for our waitress, my wifes omelette was not right, my eggs benedict was cold. Just not thier business model for a brunch buffet that you have to request certain things. Def not worth the $46 for 2 ppl.
We were so disappointed we took our daughter to lunch and were so embarrassed by the service.. Our waitress was terrible we had to track her down attitude was poor. We waited 45 plus minutes for nachos and a house salad. My husband was done eating by the time we got our food. We won't return. Did not enjoy at all. Not worth the price.
Took a while for someone to come to our table and was not impressed with the brunch wish I wld have ordered food. A lot of ppl have raved about the brunch so thought I wld try it. Have not had good luck with service at the Davenport location I fact the main reason we went this time is cause we received a $15 gift card for the poor service last time we went. Don’t know that we will go back again.
Except for the hostess following policy and taking our temperatures, it was a very good dining experience.
The brunch was not good at all. We’ve eaten here before for brunch and really enjoyed it but this time the food was cold, salty, and the prime rib was unbelievably fatty.
Great birthday lunch with friends. Patio was very nice and server was very friendly and attentive. The Asian chicken salad is always good.
Sunday fathers day buffet horrible..service was awful..food was worse.
My family and I went for a Fathers Day Brunch. The price was 23.99 per person. They are now doing family style which os to be expected. What was not expected was ordering omlettes, sandwiches, and doughnuts at 11am only to be told at 12:30 they were no longer taking orders. So we paid full price for half of the food they advertised. With tip our bill was almost 160.00. We will not be returning.
