Grill on the Hill - Worcester
Went for the outdoor dining and way too many golfers (30 or more) walking around on the deck with masks around necks, drinking and laughing, yelling to each other, walking back and forth too close to our table. We did mention that we were very uncomfortable to the waitress, who then alerted the manager and golfers were asked to stay seated, and did so.
good food and scenic place to lunch with a friend, inside or outside.
Lovely views of the golf course from our outdoor table, good food, yummy watermelon mai tai... the only issue was the waitress disappeared- we had to go inside to find the waitress for the bill. Lunch was great but it took forever to leave.
Love this place and views from the restaurants. Was a great spot for date night and live music was good too! Will be back for sure!
Waitress was super attentive for first 1/4 of our visit, then forgot about us. This was especially annoying when our food was delivered by someone (which is perfectly acceptable, but...) and she did not check back in for a long time (20 minutes ?) and one of our meals was incorrect. The waitress looked up the order and she has entered it incorrectly.
She was very apologetic and refunded the meal; and offered complimentary beverages to wrap up the evening.
Outdoor deck was great as was the outdoor music !! Overall a good night; but not great.
Eating at a golf course you wonder how good the cuisine would be. Walking up to the front (no label/sign as to where the check in is) checked in, no worries and was walked to our table. Hearing outdoor music can be a welcome to some, but knowing volume would need to be turned up for any conversation. The menus are available via RF scanner, so, break out the I Phone to look at their menu. There are two pages to the menu, friend did not see page two until I showed him. That changed his menu order. We opened with steak and cheese egg rolls. word of caution would have been helpful as to their hotness as the egg roll's juices does roll out. and no dipping sauce (ketchup was an option, no honey mustard or something different?) Main course was turkey tips, two sides were available (broccoli, oven roasted potatoes, veggie medley, side salad, onion rings, French fries, rice pilaf) chose the side salad and roasted potatoes, no choice on dressing for the salad. the tips were tender and not dry. Friend got the baked haddock and he said it was good, so we got a win on dinner. The wait for refilling of beverages (I had water and he had an Arnold Palmer (ice tea and lemonade). No asking for dessert and without a reservation through Open Table we would have been waiting with the others as tables were not leaving very quickly. All in all not too bad...
Service was bad. Food was overcooked and dry. Surrounding tables with patrons were loud and rude.
Great food, service and ambiance! Food super fresh.
HORRIBLE!! We have been here multiple times and it’s been as decent. But tonight, AWFUL. +2 hours waiting on food. Still waiting after the restaurant has closed. Will NEVER recommend or come here again.
Our waitress was fantastic. She had a wonderful personality and we could tell she was smiling under her mask. It was our first time and we had a wonderful experience. We sat out on the deck and listened to a wonderful band play. And what a view of the golf course.
The pork chop had to be sent back twice for not being cooked medium instead of raw in the middle.
Felt rushed from the time we sat down server right there can I get you a drink, not kknowledge about the wines or the special soup. Once we order our appetizer and meal appetizer got with in 5 min then the salads came right away and then we were told that our enters was ready to be served. Why are you rushing us it had been 20 minutes since we got there. No on entree till we finish our salad the mtg within 5 minutes brought the entree out sent it back and said we want a fresh one in 15 once we finished our appetizer and salad words on why we were being rushed Mgr didn't really care. When we finally got our entree it was cold look horrible and tastes awful. Didn't complain because the Mgr was a jerk and was not empathetic
Will not return till this company is no longer doing the restaurant
Lovely night at The Grill on the Hill! Beautiful views, excellent food and excellent service.
We love going to the Grill on the Hill for its well prepared food, reasonable prices and unique setting overlooking the course. We were there recently on a beautiful late summer evening which featured a simultaneous rainbow in the sky to the east and spectacular sunset to the west. Everything was perfect for a very nice evening except that the kitchen/wait staff were unfortunately overwhelmed. Our waitress was a nice young lady who was very pleasant and accommodating when we saw her, however therein lies the problem, we rarely saw her. We are not drinkers so a near 1hr 50 min experience for nothing more complicated than a couple burgers, fish & chips and a chicken sandwich was an endurance test. Granted it appeared to be a moderately busy evening however their was little in the way of communication from the staff that they were struggling to keep up with the demand. To put the proverbial icing on the cake, my son who was not given a gift of patience at birth (my problem, nobody else's) had to wait nearly 10 mins for his dinner (chicken sandwich) to arrive after everybody else at the table had been served. His dinner only appeared after going into the bar to ask other staff to check with the kitchen as again our waitress was nowhere in site. There was no apology, explanation or anything as the busser brought out the meal. Maybe our waitress was out on the back 9 as the next time we saw her was when she brought us the bill. Overall experience was mid range. On the high side was al fresco setting, quality of the food/reasonable price and immediate company I was with. However that was negatively offset by excessive delays and zero communication from the staff. A reasonable thing to do would be to take the price of four soft-drinks off the bill in consideration for the pain & suffering but that never appeared to enter her mind. Nevertheless we'll give it another shot but will probably wait till next year.
Great atmosphere . Fantastic live music. Nice menu choices.
Grill on the Hill was one of the first restaurants we had gone to since the quarantine was lifted for outdoor restaurant services. We had a wonderful time and the meals were great. The outdoor space overlooks Greenhill Park golf course and all the tables had the correct social distancing.
My friends and I all had glasses of wine and time to look at the menu before the waitress came back to take our order. We all love the onion rings and ordered them along with the pear salad and shrimp with goat cheese and a caesar salad with shrimp also. We all agreed it was a great night with great company and food.
Great trash air experience.
Staff was great and food was delicious
Wait staff was either really inattentive or completely overworked. We couldn't decide which it was. Never got water. Beer finally arrived as I was finishing my meal.
Beautiful ambiance! What a View! Amazing sunset! Cocktails very good but could be more generous.
Off key singer was a surprise. Overly deep fried haddock and cordon bleu bites killed what would have been a clear beautiful night. Service was great, 80% + of the golfers walked through without masks and many stood around tables drinking without masks and made for an uncomfortable date night.
Went for lunch to sit outside on a nice day. Food was pretty good but on the day I went they didn't have enough staff to take care of all the people that were there. The poor waitress was running her feet off as she was the only one on just her and the bartender. I didn't see any sanitizing of tables so I brought my own.
We were looking arount for an outside dining restaurant to celebrate our 53rd Anniversary and found this restaurant on Google. Had heard good things and wanted to give it a try. Wow what an experience on a beautiful day. The food spoke from a very competant chef. The service was always on time, in spite of the fact that they were down staff because of "Call Ins". Looking to go back in the fall on a war day. Try the ride through Green Hill Park on the way. Very comforting.
Nice view great food price just right
Wonderful night out. A great view friendly staff. Good food
Went for lunch on the patio to enjoy the beautiful day. The burger and lobster roll were very good and enjoyed a delicious strawberry lemonade margarita. However, The service was slow and wait time to receive food was long. After being told to seat ourselves no waitstaff came for 10 minutes. I had to go inside and inquire how to get a waitstaff to our table. Bottom line - if you have time constraints don’t go. If you are looking for a very leisurely lunch with a great view and good food give them a try.
great view, loved the musician, food and service excellent and priced right!
Food was terrible and looked old and tired
It was cold out...I had my elderly in laws with me...seating inside was limited...but the Golf course had a youth tournament and the golfers were everywhere..now I realize that that the primary function of this venue is golf...but if they're promoting the restaurant portion of it to the public...they could have done a better job of separating the golfers from the diners...it was not a fun evening...in the cold weather some type of outdoor heater would have been appropriate....
Food and Service excellent as always. Highly recommend the outdoor seating.
Nice atmosphere overlooking golf course with plenty of space between tables.
Only problem with Grill on the Hill is most that apps for directions take you to an entrance which has been closed for over 10 years. To get to the actual entrance took multiple attempts using the car's navigation, multiple attempts using Google Maps. If you use 1929 Skyline Drive, you had better be on Route 9 (Belmont Street). Seems like if you're Northeast of Worcester you'll be directed to the aforementioned closed entrance.
Beautiful day to eat on the deck. The view is awesome, the food and service great!
First time up on the hill but definitely will not be the last...loved the outdoor deck seating overlooking the golf course and pond. The food was very good and the servers were extremely nice...a bonus to our dinner was the live band ...all in all an awesome experience!
Tremendous....this is a Worcester hidden gem...I will go back and back and back again...it was that good...perfect...
What a wonderful experience we had at Grill on the Hill; it was our first time being there. The view is spectacular looking over the golf course; we enjoyed our meal outside on the patio and felt everything was distanced appropriately. The service was quick and top notch. The best thing of all though was the food was great.
The food, service and atmosphere was excellent! We had outdoor seating on a beautiful summer night and enjoyed the live entertainment of a guitar soloist playing soft rock classics. I've already recommended friends and family to get themselves up there!
The outdoor seating atmosphere was beautiful as well as the service and the food and the music playing was perfect!
Enjoyed outdoor dining on the deck for an afternoon lunch. Delish lobster roll and wonderful view of the golf course and Green Hill pond. Great service and reservations accepted so no wait for a table.
