Gringo's

I’ve been to Gringo’s many times before, but this experience was just mediocre. Don’t order pitchers of specialty margaritas, isn’t worth the price. Their brunch needs a little help. Nothing special about this visit.

having reservations and upon being seated, we were told that we only have 1.5 hours to eat!!!!??? WTF. place was not even busy. it was rude, non-professional, insulting and ruined the dinner. why would management instruct the waiter staff to say that for parties with reservations? great way to discourage customers from returning. I will never return. too many better restaurants with much much better service. also, they started to clear the table while we were still eating!!!!!!!!!!!! again WTF!!!!

Go to place in Jersey City for tacos. The noise level might be putting off to some, just go on a weekday night and sit in the front room, away from the bar.

The food was great, I split the pork, buffalo shrimp, and lobster tacos with my boyfriend and we liked them all, but particularly the lobster ones. We split the “bad hombre” margarita which was very good (but quite strong). Overall a great date spot for us.

Will definitely be going back! We had an awesome time. We were late to the reservation but the server didn't make us feel rushed or anything at ALL. He was so nice and friendly and funny and made the night really fun for us. The food is amazing, the drinks were great, and the ambiance is fun. Very recommended!

Very cool place, great food, good ambience and the drinks were great.
I've been a couple times and will definitely go back. My only qualm, and it's minor was they did hurry us a bit and said "please keep your table time to 90 minutes because we have a lot of reservations". I get it entirely, but that's still a tad bit unprofessional.
In the end, however, great spot.

Enjoyed our brunch and would come back again. My only issue was with the churros. They should have been cooked a little longer; the outside was delicious, but the center of the churro was raw.

The ambience is really cool. Its probably a good place for drinks at night as their happy hour is 10-1. The food was really good but the lunch service was a little slow which was surprising as it was pretty empty.

Our table (and special request) was ready when we walked in. Staff was helpful and food was good, as always.

We had an outstanding time at Gringo’s Taco. The food and drinks were absolutely incredible. The staff were wonderful down to the part where they sang happy birthday to one of my group members. Definitely coming back again.

First brunch at Gringos. Like their tacos, but all three brunch options (Huevos rancheros, burrito, scramble) that our table of 5 tried were bland - pretty and plentiful, but lacked any sort of flavor.
We were also asked if we had reservations (YES) by 4 different people and it took the staff 5 minutes to sit us - in a completely empty restaurant. I am not exaggerating - there were 2 people sitting at the bar. That is it. ALL OTHER tables were empty. Entire section of the restaurant and 2 whole tables next to us remained empty as we ordered, ate, paid, left. Why make us feel unwelcome with all the questions and delays?

We stopped in on Saturday night for a few drinks and appetizers. The nachos with ground beef were yummy and very spicy! The Mexican street corn in a small skillet was divine!!.... And I must say, the best Margarita I’ve had in a long time. It’s a very active place, lots of noise… But we had a wonderful time and we will surely go back. Next time we go for dinner!

Service was horrible

We requested outdoor seating and when arrived they had the outdoor area closed off. We asked why and the hostess was very rude and didn’t really answer why we couldn’t dine outside. We are regulars at Gringos so it was disappointing, especially on a gorgeous day. Food is delicious but service could step it up.

This place was super cute, and exactly what we were looking for. Food truck style tacos, clever drinks, specialty menu items if desired. Great chips too! Will definitely come back.

Gringos is always a great time! I’ve been here many times. It continues to evolve from when it opened. The menu changes up which is sometimes disappointing because everything is so delicious but also a great sign because there’s always something new to try! I will say I feel it’s a bit pricey and slightly gimmicky, but it’s a great night out (or brunch spot) with friends. Never had an issue with service. Location is great. I DO RECOMMEND taking an uber. The drinks can be strong!
