Gyu-Kaku - Houston, TX | Midtown
Always a good experience even through COVID-19 they make it work.
I like the new format/layout of the paper menus
Waiters was not helping
The have new menu in the website doesn't say it
It was a little difficult to get in touch with our waiter. Other than that, they were nice and I felt safe with the new covid guidelines they're using.
Our waitress had a terrible attitude. The people next to us had bugs at their table.
Hey bad experience with waiter and food order never came out.
I love the self bbqing experience. The veggies cook so well and soft. Make sure not to overcook your meat. Remember, you cooked it! Lol. I always enjoy this place. The appetizers are decent and are prepared for you along with the rice. I love love love the mojitos here! Don’t forget to get the s’mores for dessert!
Took my boyfriend for his first Gyu-Kaku experience and he loved it! It was a great time for me as always. All of the staff wore masks and took our temperature before seating us. I love the extra precautions.
Made rsvp for 2 at 8pm server gave us water next time we saw her was 8:45 she could not tell us what was on the paper menu ended up not getting our food until 9:30 we did not leave until 10:30 I was disappointed after visiting often fire was so high it burnt our food
Great usual even with the social distancing they made it work!
Took over 20 minutes to get drinks. Our waiter never even introduced himself and sent someone else over most it the time to wait on us.
The food was amazing. My boyfriend and I had a great date!
So so so good!!! I absolutely love that place!! They never disappoint on the service or the food always a spectacular environment!!
We had great service from Kiah.
Fun, lively atmosphere and good food
The food here is always good. The we had different waiters some was more attentive and then others but overall good.
Love the atmosphere
Love the food but the parking is terrible.
Excellent food, service, ambiance, everything was excellent.
Good service and great food
Don’t try to order a drink from the bar while you’re waiting for your table, you’ll get ignored. Food came fast and furious. Hello soup, sip, sip. 1 minute later: hello salad, mushrooms, calamari, four bowls of rice, corn, five plate of meat all at once. But it was good when you could find room on the table to eat.
Took the family for Valentine’s Day - it was a fun experience for all!
Everything was great! The only complaint I really have is that our server was a bit... too attentive. He would change our grill every five minute and we could barely relax and grill because he would be back and insist on changing it. If we would continue with our meat because we already had some on before he got there, he would be back a minute later insisting to change it again. This, while annoying, was bearable. However when we were trying to go he took forever to give us our check. But all in all we had a fun time!
Good meal. Great service.
My wife and I love this place. The food is amazing and the prices are incredible for what you get. It’s just fun and unique. One of my favorite places to dine.
I made a reservation for 8pm, When I got there they told me that there was no reservation under my name even though I showed him proof that I have the reservation. while they were looking gor my reservation they skipped me about 3 times. finally found my reservation I waited 45 to 50 minutes to be seated, the girl in the manager who were working at the front desk acted like they didn’t care. i had bought movies tickets for the same day at 10 pm but i lost that money because it took so long to he seated. Our server did whatever he could to make our experience better, thank you Xavier.
Came here to celebrate my mother’s 52 birthday! Everything was great! Great food! Restaurant was a little noisy but we are use to that, prices were good. Leave extra time for PARKING! PARKING WAS HARD TO FIND ON A WEEKEND.
Fun place to eat
Many homeless outside the restaurant. It’s was very scary
We had a reservation for 11 people at 9 but had to wait 40 minutes before getting seated. However, it wasn’t the restaurant’s fault, the party before us took longer than expected. But when we were finally seated, everything took a really long time and our appetizers were the last to come out. Additionally, our waters were always empty and it was hard to get the servers attention because we were in a private room. I love gyu-kaku, but I do not recommend this place for large parties.
