My new favorite restaurant in the twin cities! Exceptional food and service. No wait to be seated when we arrived at our reservation time. Food was incredible, lots of it and high quality at a great price. Staff was attentive and informative of all the different dishes and options. We already have plans to go back next month. Highly recommend.

We have enjoyed this place several times in Hawaii and we are glad to have one now in MN! Great food, fun family experience. COVID conscience.

Very, very good. Service was phenomenal and they kept changing the grills. Love that. The food was very good too. Loved the sauces. The scenery and ambiance was so pretty and nice. ALSO the blonde lady bartender was super cool.

Because it was our first visit, we ordered "Chef's Favorite" to sample different items, and we are glad we did. All the meat was very tender and tasted great! We would definitely return to try more dishes.

The food was delicious, we had 5 guest and order the 4 person combo with an addition of some sides and it was more than enough food. Experience was great, will be back again!

It was a great experience. Really close to what Japanese bbq is I would definitely recommend it. Maria probably was one of the greatest server We ever had. She was so attentive and really full of knowledge she did an amazing recommendation of what to eat.

This is a great concept! I highly recommend the Tuna Poke Nachos. They aren't on the menu, but our server told us about them and they are the best I've had anywhere, and at a fraction of the cost. I'll go back for those again and again! (The rest of the meal was excellent as well!)

Great experience! The food was phenomenal, our server recommended many different foods that were beyond belief. The environment was a little busy and noisy but it’s a great environment over all. We went out to dinner with some old friends and had a blast. The concept of grilling your own food is so smart and fun! The owner Ana was so welcoming and made us feel like we were family. I would highly recommend Gyu-Kaku to anyone who is looking for great food, great drinks, and a fun time over all!! Definitely will be back soon!!

Long story short. This restaurant do not follow the CDC guidelines. My husband reported them, and they canceled my reservation on November 7th because they are worry the government will get informed again. Photo attached. According to the owner, the ventilation system they had “ will prevent Covid”. I guess the CDC needs to reach out to them for advice.

Took 30 mins to get some chopsticks so we could eat our salads. Meat was good quality, but the service was terrible.

Great experience. Made a reservation at 5.15 but we ended up waiting for 45mins before we get seated.

Reservations were at 7pm and we arrived at 6:50ish and all tables were full. We had to wait an extra 20mins for our table. It would have been nice to have a complementary drink while we waited. I took time to reserve 3 weeks ahead for a birthday dinner. Overall it was a good experience, food was tasty.

Had a great night with my husband on our little mini date. The food and drinks was good and the service was excellent. I’ll totally recommend it to my family and friends.

This was a very popular place. We made reservations for 6pm but didn't get to sit until 6:45pm. They said there is two groups ahead of us but the group came that came after us got to sit first. The bar tender downstairs was so nice he checked in on us to make sure we have the drinks we need and served us whatever we needed. He also came to check to make sure we go our text because he also notice we were sitting there for a while. I mean we were 5 minute late due to no parking so we had to go park far in the residence area and walk there but was a bit upset we waited kinda long and when we got our text to go get a table we went up stairs and waited in the front. I heard them saying bc we were late they wanted to sit the people who came on time but lucky the other lady was like "we go by their reservations and since they not super late" made me a bit more happy. We finally got our seat and everything after was great the food and our waitress even though it was very busy she forgot some items but got it right away after she realized she forgot it like our water cups, oil the grill, and my hot water but I wouldn't mind going back bc they are new they still have a lot adjusting to do.

My wife and I haven’t eaten out since quarantine started, but wanted to do something special for her birthday.

We got to our reservation 5 minutes late and had to wait 5-10 minutes for our table. We scheduled a later dinner reservation hoping there would be less people, but the restaurant was packed. They are definitely not following 50% occupancy, spacing parties 6ft apart, or have barriers between back-to-back booths. Our seat was right next to another occupied booth. They did check temperatures upon entry.

We ordered the Chef’s Favorite dinner set for two along with a few additional appetizers. The food was good and very fulfilling; I would highly recommend the Spicy Tuna Volcano and Gyu Sushi. We mentioned to the waiter that he forget to bring our miso soup and broccoli with cheese, but we were too full to eat any more. Throughout our stay, our waiter was mainly occupied with serving two large parties but was still very nice to us.

This experience was worth trying at least once. I would have rated this 4 stars had the server not forgotten our food and table seating followed COVID protocols.

Very impressed... The food was amazing and a great value. We had the Chef’s selection for two and everything tasted delicious. The restaurant’s atmosphere and ambience was great and we really enjoyed our time. Will definitely be back again.

Nothing spectacular or memorable. Meat slices were kind of tiny and sparse. Music was so loud I couldn’t hear the server or carry on a conversation.

This place was amazing! The staff was very attentive and food was delicious! We will be back!

Food was good but a little tricky to cook properly

The management of food and the service was out of this world! I’m used to dining at Gyu Kaku in LA and was happy to see we finally have one in Minnesota. I was not disappointed and will be back!

Was never a fan of cooking your own food at restaurants but this place was decent. Plenty of meat to go around, perfect chill spot to drink and eat good meat.

Our server was amazing. We were seated right when we got there and the server came right over to ask if we needed any help with the menu. The price was within reasonable pricing. Do recommend it to anyone who wants to try. 😊

Food was delicious! Must try! This city has been needing a good Japanese bbq restaurant and George definitely delivered! Highly recommended!!!
