   As afternoon tea menus go I'm afraid this one wasn't 'up there'. Uninspiring sandwich fillings and heavy scones. Definitely not worth £40 a head and we were unfortunate to be seated during a shift change so got completely forgotten and struggled to get drinks top ups. Disappointing.

   The service here was outstanding, however my two friends and I thought the food was very average and way too expensive for what it was. I’m unlikely to revisit but I only would for a drink.

    This is always a safe bet for a good evening. The venue is wonderful, and there is a great atmosphere. The food is good quality, not mind-blowing but dependable. Service is normally very good, though on arrival last night, the two ladies manning the station didn't bother to look up when I arrived. There was no welcome, no smile, and I had to interpret the upwards nod of her head as suggesting I needed to inform her of my name. From desk to seating, not one word or smile was offered. I doubt that will be tolerated for long unless standards have dropped. I will be back very soon and hope to see the front of house reflect the rest of the excellent establishment.

    We attended afternoon tea and sat in the comfortable orangerie. Our server was wonderful. She picked up on the fact that our elder son has special needs and brought him a coloring book and hotel pencils. The food was fantastic. For the sandwiches, We particularly loved the spinach on seaweed scone and the smoked salmon. The scones were warm and fresh and the passion fruit apricot jam was the perfect tart foil to the rich clotted cream. The pastries were amazing (especially the orange blossom rose one). The tea includes a second hot beverage but most of us couldn’t manage anything more to eat. We loved the whole experience and are glad we didn’t spend the MUCH higher cost at the premier places. I highly recommend the afternoon tea. Enjoy!

    Won’t revisit. Service was awful, had to wait forever and kept calling them over. Food was utterly flavourless - one to avoid for food. Venue is nice and I’ve had a decent cocktail in the bar in the past.

    The best experience for afternoon tea with our 3 kids. They put us in the back which we greatly appreciated. Service was impeccable. Tea, desserts and tea sandwiches were perfect. And now I need to start collecting the adorable tea set pieces!

    We went for Afternoon Tea to celebrate my partner's 40th birthday and the whole afternoon was amazing, the food was so good to eat that we had to take the remaining scones home as we couldn't fit it all in. Our waiter was very good and remembered everything on the menu and he even brought out a small single chocolate brownie with a candle in it for my partner's birthday. We had our Afternoon Tea in the conservatory which was peaceful and tranquil. We would definitely recommend going again.

    Lovely experience, but was only given 3 finger sandwiches unless you paid extra, more sandwiches could have been supplied in the price of the tea, otherwise you were mainly eating sugary foods to fill up on the cakes and scones.

    My friend and I went for afternoon tea for her birthday on Mother's Day. Service was overall very good. One waitress who asked us for dietary requirements all over again even though I specified in the booking (and her colleague had the piece of paper which stated our dietary requirements when we were seated) but it was ok. We really enjoyed the experience. We asked if we could have more sandwiches but because the restaurant for full, it wasn't possible which was fine. The scones were nice. I enjoyed half of the cakes. We stayed a lot longer and had more tea and cocktails and it was nice to not be rushed out. I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely come back.

    Ham Yard is one of our favourite restaurants and our lunch was no exception. It was a daughter's birthday the following day so it was a special occasion made better by the impecable food and service. But ... I did have a grumble. It was St Patrick's Day but the bar had no Guinness!

    Lovely staff. Attentive and knowledgeable. Food was incredible. We had burrata, which was beautifully seasoned and dressed, tempura vegetables super light and crispy, sublime diver sole and celeriac wellington was the best vegan dish ever! Light, delicate and tasty. Thankyou team Hamyard 🙏
