Great as usual. Very impressed with there procedures regarding COVID-19 . Extremely professional.
Originally from the east coast, I grew up eating seafood that was always at the top of the spectrum. Harbor House is absolutely one of the finest seafood restaurants I’ve eaten at in the past 20 years. Amazingly fresh and tasty oysters. The chef preparing mussels, which was not on the menu, was over the top. The largest mussels I’ve ever had. The white wine and garlic sauce was creamy and done to perfection. We shared bit the main lobster and spiny Baja tale. Phenomenal! Our servers, Chris and Tyler, could not have been more attentive. I highly recommend Harbor House!
We have always liked dining at Harbor House and have been there to celebrate various events. This past Wednesday, 11/25, we dined there for our 11 year anniversary. We were very impressed with all of the safety precautions Harbor House has in place. Given the current pandemic, we have only been out to eat a handful of times, and Harbor House hands-down did the best job with social distancing, etc. I was highly impressed that our server would not approach our table until each of us had our masks securely on--I was not bothered by that in the least. If anything, I felt even more comfortable because of the extra steps Harbor House has taken. Our meal was wonderful and we had a lovely time.
We had a great experience here for our anniversary. They are handling the Covid Guidelines very well. This made for a very safe and pleasant dinner.
Always delicious and impeccable service!
Harbor does a fantastic job keeping everyone safe and maintaining a fine dining experience during the COVID-19 pandemic. They should be an example to other restaurants on how to operate right now.
It was very cold by the window, until our server turned on the heating unit under the table. Then it was perfect.
I disagree with their policy of charging $4 per person for the servers mask and gloves. The cost of gloves and masks probably a lot less than $4, but the restaurant is charging EVERY customer $4. A nice tidy profit for something that are reused.
The restaurant has done a fine job of balancing still having an inviting atmosphere with observing Covid protocols for the safety of everyone which I appreciated and the food was very good.
We have been to Harbour House several times. This eating adventure was different then all the other meals. The eating with covid-19 was comfortable. The protection that the restaurant had provided for the dinners was excellent. We felt protected and relaxed while eating. Other establishments should take a lesson from Harbour House.
The desert was delicious and the crab cakes were delicious. Our main meals were horrible very bland with no seasoning. Most likely we will not patronize the Harbor house again
Harbor House and other Bartolotta restaurants get a thumbs up in making diners feel safe and comfortable during the pandemic. Their transparent approach is welcomed. As in the past, the food was outstanding and the three courses very well paced. The service is excellent with servers focused on safety, but not uptight or intrusive. As far as the ambiance, it was second to none in the terrific location right on Lake Michigan, the light and airy decor and quiet noise level given the lower occupancy.
This was the first time back at Harbor House since their reopening. We knew a Bartolotta restaurant would do it right and they did. The Covid precautions were all in place and the dividers between tables appeared as if they were always there as part of the decor.... like beautiful windows. The menu choices , filet for my husband and sea bass for me were prepared to perfection and the wait staff was friendly, courteous and attentive. Of course we will be back to one of our long time favorite places.
Understanding that the restaurant must operate under the new Covid restrictions, no where is it stated that the staff the right to treat customers with disrespect and utter disdain. From the awkward standing ten feet back from the table and yelling that we need to put on our masks in order to have our water filled, to begging the server to take our order to discourage additional stops/inconvenience (which she claimed was our fault and that we refused to order--dishonest, too!), to being told to leave when the bell tolled 90 minutes. Did I mention the additional $4/pp for cleaning our table charge? Oh, and the fact that I made our reservation on Bartolotta's website and our leftovers came in a Bartolotta's bag but the staff said that "ordinarily they do not accept Bartolotta gift cards" but made an exception?! Plus we witnessed a poor woman slipping on the slick floors and management made no effort to assist. Though the food was good the overall experience was extraordinarily AWFUL. We have traditionally taken both Vendors and Customers to the restaurant and have purchased numerous gift cards for employees/vendors/customers--NEVER. AGAIN. I am shocked and disappointed. And embarrassed that I suggested taking a Vendor there on Saturday night. Horrifying!
Our server was very nice and did a very good job. Just felt bad when she had to inform us that we were over our 90 time limit to eat and if we wanted dessert we would need to go to the bar to order it and sit there. AWKWARD...needless to say we did not have dessert!
Had the lobster bun. It did not have much flavor. But cute place
Food was outstanding whether you order seafood or steak everything was prepared excellent! Try the seafood in season and you will not be disappointed.
very cautions about covid many precautions like taking your temp and keeping mask on whenever server at table.
Amazing service, food and views. They really were working hard to keep guests and staff safe but still provided an upscale dining experience
With ambience in a very safe environment plus a delicious dining experience, Harbor House fulfilled our expectations.
Food was good, as expected. Service was good, as expected. COVID precautions were exceptional - well done, Harbor House.
Ive dinned here multiple times, often with clients but sometimes with family as well and its a home run experience every time. It can get a bit pricey but you never walk out of there feeling like you didnt get incredible food and experience value for your money.
Samantha and Tyler were both fun and polite. Loved the pianist and cello players as well. Food and drinks were fantastic too.
As an out of towner. This was my 2nd visit here. I loved the food as much as the 1st. The vibe was a bit different because of Covid.
The 90 minute rule needs some explanation and a 2nd look. I understand there are COVID restrictions and the masks etc make perfect sense.
But being handed our check at minute 91 when we were clearly contemplating dessert and after dinner drinks was a bit of a vertical shock to the system
Then being told we could go to a bar table and order dessert and drinks and stay there for up to 90 minutes was even more perplexing
And doing just that... the bar server seemed less than eager to help us
I’d give some serious thought before I returned... given that there are some very fine restaurants in the 3rd ward only a short walk away.
Oh. And then there’s the PPE “surcharge”???? Do what we did and just take it off the tip. Sooner or later some well deserving server will have had enough of management’s antics and unionize.
One of our first indoor dining experiences since March. Felt very safe. Harbor House did an exceptional job with the sterilizing everything, enforced masks be worn when staff at your table...
All things considered in the age of COVID, they did an excellent job. As usual, the food was excellent. The extra COVID precautions in place were also a nice extra added piece of mind. The staff was courteous, and prompt. Although we had to wait a few minutes past our reservation time, the overall experience was great.
The Service was exceptional as Alex explained the choices perfectly. The meal was fantastic and I would highly recommend the Harbor House to anyone looking for a unique dining experience!
Went for our anniversary and the service and food was great. Scallops were amazing and I usually hate them! Surprised each time by this place.
Special birthday dinner during Covid-19. We felt safe, and distanced. Everyone had masks on. Food and service were exemplary!
Really enjoyed the tour of New England. Appetizers were so good! We had Maryland crab cakes, Cajun and bourbon oysters, clam chowder soup, and shrimp cocktail. My scallop entree was delicious, even though I was dissapointed there were only 4 scallops. I would have left hungry if it weren't for all the appetizers we ordered. Food is very expensive, but Harbor House never disappoints. Servers are very attentive. We probably won't go again until the constant masking up while trying to enjoy our $250 dinner & drinks goes away.
Delicious food wonderful service and beautiful view. My favorite restaurant.
Great experience friend staff and they took all safety measures
The jazz combo was very nice. The skate wings were good ... but not unforgettable. The Manhattan was good but not sure it was worth $13. I understand the challenges presented by the pandemic ... but the service was not exceptional. Overall, we had a nice time as we were all glad to be out even if in the new subdued environment.
Great selections of wine. The combinations of filet and lobster oscar was excellent. The dessert of Boston cream pie trifle was outstanding. Will be back
The scallops were raw. Has to be sent back. Very expensive 3 course meals. Had to put your mask back on anytime the servers came to the table. And a $4 per person “covid fee”. Just ridiculous. So not worth the $500 price tag for three people. We won’t be back
Great menu. Everything was perfect. Loved the oyster fest menu. Thank you for the extra precautions during these unprecedented times.
The restaurant did a nice job with the table distancing, while maintaining a nice ambiance.
Hands down the best, and smartest, handling of this year's Covid needs I have experienced yet.
Food is always good, oysters always fresh, and wine choices great. Too bad they haven't switched over to Luxardo cherries yet -- old-fashioned critics will have their feathers ruffled (haha).
Great experience every time. Worth the self-imposed expense.
Love the restaurant, but no longer feel safe in Milwaukee.
Diana & Samantha made a phenomenal evening for my best friend and I. We haven't dined in a restaurant since the pandemic started, and they were both excellently conscious of all things safety related. We felt very comfortable with the spacing of the tables and how the staff presented themselves with each visit to the table. The food was excellent as usual. Samantha and Diana made excellent recommendations from the menu. It was an excellent experience in an 'interesting' time in society.
Excellent pandemic preparations with nicely spaced tables and dividers, and conscientious servers who were masked and kept their distance. Food was fantastic. A great surprise was the jazz duo--so incredible to hear live music. Excellent service. Pricey but a completely lovely experience.
