Harvest & Reel at Embassy Suites Resort St Augustine Beach
Restaurant is tastefully decorated in a grown up ambience. We had a holiday four course menu. Excellent quality. The meal was $80 per party member, included drink and dessert. We had our meal outdoors and it was quiet on New Year’s Eve. The cleanliness was not as great as I was expecting. I had to wipe the table to make it appropriate for kids due to covid precautions. Kids menu is weak and they serve Kraft macaroni being a “high” end establishment. They need to revamp that kid’s menu. The hamburger for kids was good though.
Service was very good.
We had a nice NYE dinner and our waiter Harrison was great. They provided a special set menu on NYE which was fine for us but I was wanting to try some items from the regular menu but told we could not. My only critique is we sat outside, primarily due to Covid, but also because it was a nice night, just a little chilly. They had no table cloths on the tables or even candles and we asked for the heater to be turned on (they were set up) but were told they were out of propane. Understandable regarding the propane I guess but when you spend $200 on a meal and wine a white tablecloth or candle would have made it feel a bit nicer and special.
Like eating at Applebee’s, but 5times the price.
My husband and I just wanted great food for a date night, and we had read the amazing reviews about this restaurant. Sincerely, this place was better than the reviews!! The food, service, and atmosphere were excellent! We are local to the St Augustine area, and highly recommend this gem over so many of the overrated and touristy restaurants in the area!!!
Wonderful food. Great service.
All the food was too salty and way overpriced. I paid 110 for soup, a small filet and two glasses of wine.
Food was great. Special menu for Christmas, which was nice. It was a bit more expensive then expected, our bill was close to $400 for 4 people, one of which ordered off the child menu.
Food was excellent. Service outstanding. Will go there again.
Went with my family - 7 of us - for Christmas Eve dinner. Everything was absolutely delicious and great service.
Service good, food luke warm
Better than a buffet for being Covid safe
For $60 per person and a very nice Hotel expected more Member of Hilton Honors disapointed
Great food, great service, very warm and inviting restaurant.
Thanksgiving at Harvest and Reel turned out to be a truly wonderful experience. The food was great but it always is! It was the staff that made our day so special. We are local and visit the Embassy Suites Harvest and Reel frequently. Chef John and his staff never disappoints!
Service was outstanding! A great Thanksgiving experience! Food was delicious! Will definitely go again!
Excellent service, great view and atmosphere and our food was fantastic. Our server was from the phillipines and she was super! We had the burrata and tomato salad, conch fritters and burgers and everything was yummy! We could hear the ocean waves the entire meal, which was a bonus!
It was really nice to sit outside even though it was dark out so you couldn’t see the ocean. But you could hear!
Our waitress was the best, cheerful and explained everything to us. I forgot her name but she was originally from the Philippines. My beet salad was nice and fresh and the shrimps and grits were so so good.
My husband had the crab cake and scallops. Both were excellent. Great quality overall.
We will definitely be back.
A lovely experience dining on the outside area with friends, with view of ocean and courtyard. We had a very attentive and personable wait person. Food was outstanding, including special items.
Wonderful food. Perfect portions. Excellent service.
We LOVED our experience at this restaurant. I must admit we were a bit skeptical for a hotel restaurant before we went but this is a hidden gem. We opted for outdoor seating that overlooks the pool area, tons of lounge areas with gas firepits AND THE OCEAN. The sound of the surf and the ocean view was so relaxing. The food was fantastic (we had a pork chop special) and definitely on the upper scale end of dining. The outdoor seating area is very casual with simple tables and chairs as it was being used for extra distancing for COVID. But, the guests liked it so much, we were told they are working on plans to make it a full/permanent accommodation. Already great but it'll be interesting so see what else they do. We plan to take friends back for dinner here again.
Staff was very attentive. Conversational. Friendly. We were there for a birthday.
We liked it so much we went back the next night for dinner!
What a wonderful treat! This restaurant has the upscale feel and youthful vibe usually missing from typical beach front restaurants. The service was great and the shrimp & grits were delicious.
Great service. Outside seating was wonderful with lovely views.
My daughter in law and I went to dinner to celebrate our birthdays. The food was delicious and everyone made us feel very special. Amazing dinner and experience. We will be back!
We were staying at the resort
For the high priced menu, the food was not good at all. A 44 dollar steak taste worse than a 10 dollar one I can grill on my own. The waitress was super nice and did a great job, but I’ll probably pass on eating there again.
We thought we would give this new place a try. The resort itself and restaurant are very industrial looking and a bit spartan. We sat outside overlooking the pool area with a view of the ocean . . . very pleasant. My wife had the burrata cheese/tomato appetizer salad which looked great and she loved it. We both had the cheeseburger & fries - yummy. Best of all was our server Jon - he was super efficient and nice outgoing, friendly personality. The only downside is that the menu is pretty narrow for a "resort." Need more choice, especially on the seafood side, especially since it's oceanside.
Celebrated my husband’s 55th birthday w/ friends & it did not disappoint!! The food was amazing & the service was fantastic! Will definitely be visiting again soon!!
Nice new hotel and restaurant! Great selections and everything was served hot and fresh! Several areas to eat, drink, and enjoy the wonderful weather and views!
Wonderful service. Nicole (Manager) was spot on with recommendations for red wine. Chris(Sous Chef) was professional and certainly knows his menu. Thank you both.
The food and service was good. I would recommend to anyone who wants a nice dining experience.
Amber was phenomenal!
We had exceptional service and Tory was a most friendly server. Our food was very tasty. We will definitely return.
Food was excellent. Tory was a great server. Cowboy steak with bleu cheese was awesome.
Had a nice post Covid 19 dinner at Harvest and Reel. Menu is a bit limited, but comes with the territory of being inside a hotel, which was packed. For being open kitchen the dinning room is reasonably quite, although this may be due to the spacing requirements of the tables.
Food was good, had the Burrata cheese and tomato starter as well as the crispy Brussel Sprouts. Cheese I had expected to be warm and fresh, given the Harvest moniker, but was served cold. It was still good though and had just the right amount of tomato and seasoning. Sprouts are coated in a light breading, which was a change from most of the crispy sprouts I have had in the past. Steaks were on the pricey side, but it is a hotel restaurant, so generally expected. Cooked perfectly and seasoned just right.
It was a busy night in St. Augustine and we had planned on going to Caps or another place that had 2 hour plus waits. Open table had immediate reservations at H&R and we had wanted to try for some time. Service was good, minus a few small details on seating. Staff cleaned the table in front of us - not sure if this was to ensure we saw it being cleaned (which is good) or just being a bit short staffed. Cutlery was a bit late on arrival, but not a big deal, and cocktails were nice. I would recommend some wine by the glass selections that better fit the theme of farm to table, especially one or two without the sulfates typically used on the lower priced wines.
All in, a nice dinner, cocktails by the fire on the beach deck, and a good experience. I would recommend this for a nice evening with friends and social dinner. We will be back again to sample some of the seafood options.
Took forever to get drinks and refills. Many things requested were forgotten. several of the menu choices were “sold out” and we were practically the only folks dining in the restaurant.
Excellent meal and service, especially for a hotel restaurant. Unusual menu choices. Quite pricey, so definitely for a special occasion rather than a quick weekday meal. Valet parking only, but no charge with ticket validation.
St. Augustine is a tough market for a new-ish restaurant. We visited during Bike Week, on a last minute trip, and reservations were hard to come by. We figured we'd try Harvest & Reel and it was just okay. I felt like I was in a hotel lobby restaurant, which is exactly what it is. The food is elevated for a hotel lobby restaurant, but the experience overall just doesn't compare with similar restaurants in town.
Great experience for first visit
We are locals. No need for us to pay these higher prices. Can’t believe we waited 20 minutes for our meal. Really not a problem, if they offered bread or salad with your meal. Bread was an extra 5.00
The hotel itself is very upscale, so the restaurant is a nice fit for visitors, not so much for locals
We went for valentines dinner. The waitress was rushing us and neglected to explain there were suggested wine pairings with each item . She was so rushing us to order our drinks the minute we sat down that after we had a bottle ordered, it was too late to get the wine pairings. The menu was 3 courses for 50.00 a person and we we’re so rushed we only had half the bottle finished by the time all the food had been served. They need to train the staff better. The food was delicious and the space beautiful.
