We serve our own brand of flavours against the backdrop of a vintage hi-fidelity sound system, with the belief that music and food can bring people together.

The staff were amazing as always. 90% of th food was amazing. We couldn’t eat the leeks… so chewy. And the gnocchi wasn’t great. Everything else was exceptional

A beautiful space only been open just over a year. Bold flavours tied to its Asian roots and generous portions, you’re not going hungry here! And an extensive wine list with something for everyone. The team are relaxed but attentive, you can tell they have a good work/play balance. Their newly reshaped cocktail bar upstairs has only been open 3 weeks which runs as an extension of the restaurant, perfect for a night cap after your meal or for just cocktails and snacks in their Hi-Fi listening space.

I’ve been getting coffee from Hausu’s café for a while now and have always been curious about the restaurant side, so when my girlfriend’s birthday came around it felt like the perfect excuse to finally try it properly. The food was fine nothing that blew us away but perfectly decent small plates. The cocktails were a genuine highlight though, really well made. Unfortunately the evening was defined by something else entirely: the sound. We were seated in the café area near the entrance, right next to the speakers, which turned out to be a real problem. Hausu bills itself as a “listening bar” with a vintage hi-fidelity sound system, and that’s a big claim to make it sets an expectation. Sadly the reality didn’t match it at all. The high and mid frequencies were harsh and piercing, with no warmth or low end to speak of. Track levels varied wildly, so one moment it was bearable and the next it was genuinely uncomfortable to sit through. For a dinner setting it was just far too loud, and there was clearly no compression evening out the dynamics across the playlist. The music selection felt off for the space too heavy 80s electro at high tempo, which clashed with what otherwise felt like a relaxed, dimly lit, intimate atmosphere. Something smoother and more understated would’ve suited the room and the food much better. I want to be fair: this might be a seating issue, and I’d genuinely like to go back and see the main restaurant space properly. But if you’re going to put “hi-fidelity sound system” at the centre of your identity, the sound really does need to deliver especially when diners are sat right next to the speakers with no escape from it.

Great options of snacks, small plates and sharing dishes. All dishes pack in flavour. Service is excellent and the space has a lovely ambience added to with the records being played. Would definitely recommend!
