When: Weekday dinner What: Pork Belly Don, and Beef Udon Experience: Find the food here being a mix of Japanese and Chinese food. I did not have any sushi so I won’t be able to comment on that. Pork Belly Don was on the fatty side for my preference so end up needing to cut fat portions out before eating. Which is fine with me since I know there may be people who would like it. However, the taste was a little too salty and it did taste a little towards soy sauce pork belly, with the only difference that theirs is also very garlicky. Beef udon had reasonable udon though the beef was lacking in flavor. The beef meat could use some light seasoning before cooking so that it’s more appealing vs being bland. Good customer service. Granted we were the only one eating in, while there were people doing take outs, they had good customer service. We left an item and didn’t even notice, but they called us from our reservation info to get the item back to us - which I appreciate a lot. Due to being the only people eating in, it was on the quieter side with music playing in the background.

The service was very good. The decor was very nice. The food was marginal. We had the rock fish katsu. Thought the fish was nicely prepared, the fish was from the freezer and it tasted like that. The price wasn't bad for this item, but too bad about the frozen fish. I had a sushi roll. Sauce overpowered the entire dish. I forgot which one I ordered but it wasn't good. Price was not bad. But almost inedible. Chicken Karaage was strips of chicken, almost like chicken fingers. No flavor in the chicken so Katsu sauce overpowered the chicken. Tempura was ordered by the 3rd guest. The choices were not extraordinary to warrant such a high price tag. Sashimi prices were very high. Didn't order it, so I cannot tell you if it would have been worth it. Bento boxes were $36.00 for two items. The item selection was not extraordinary to warrant such a high price tag. I worry about this restaurant because it is the fourth restaurant in that location that I know of. It is priced as a special restaurant but serves less than adequate food.

Hayashi is our go to place for Japanese food. We go so often that the employees recognize us, and our server instinctively knows what we will order. Sometimes we'll mix it up to keep her on her toes. The fish is always fresh, their servings are generous and the food is always beautifully presented. Their menu has the typical Japanese fare of sushi, sashimi, Bento box combinations, and several options in their entrees of Teriyaki, Tempura, Katsu, and Udon noodles. We've tried many dishes and they've always been delicious! Good selection of Japanese beer and sake. Go there with a date, with your family or friends, or go alone. They can accommodate small to large groups, and there's a huge screen above their sushi bar. I highly recommend Hayashi!

Quality of tempura and sushi was not equivalent to other Japanese restaurants in the area. The Tempura vegetables were overcooked and soft. The sushi roll was mostly rice with very few interesting additions to add to the flavor or texture. Topping the sushi rolls with imitation crab doesn't add anything. It's a nice restaurant interior but the chef needs to up their game.

The group really enjoyed their time at this restaurant; the staff was so nice to the group, and the space was amazing. Thank you for your time and attention; we will definitely come here again soon and make another dinner club.

The Udon Soup was delicious, and the sushi rolls are definitely above average. I think they use a better miso than average Japanese restaurant.
