Came for a special occasion Sunday roast, absolutely did not disappoint. Possibly one of the best roasts in Cardiff. Quality of food matched the superb presentation, accompanied by an impressive wine list. Staff are attentive, friendly and knowledgeable as usual. Thanks! Would recommend without hesitation!
I really enjoyed my Sunday lunch. I was treating a friend for her 70th birthday. Everything was outstanding.
The food is such high quality and I felt that it was lively and energetic atmosphere but we could still have a quiet conversation. Have already recomended to others as a high end treat.
Excellent food and service, enjoyed every course and tasters, would definitely return.
Only our second time at Heaney's and just as good as the first; this time ala carte instead of the taster menu and we were not disappointed! The staff are lovely; friendly, helpful, and efficient without being intrusive. Was fine taking our 11 year old with us - they offered him a child friendly alternative to the standard menu (but prepared with the same care and attention. The atmosphere was quiet at 1pm but by 2pm it was lively without being hard to hear. Perfect time was had! Thank you Heany’s!
3rd visit to Heaneys and a very enjoyable evening again. lost a star from us because one dish wasn't quite as good as it had been previously, but overall the food here is always exceptional.
Never had a taster menu before. A fabulous dining experience. Food was amazing.
Everything was incredible, had an amazing night and the staff were beyond friendly, welcoming and helpful.
The restaurant was recommended by my son who also paid for our meal as a birthday present for my wife. We enjoyed the experience from the time we entered the restaurant as the staff were very pleasant and welcoming. We ordered the taster menu which we found varied and delicious. We ate our meals at a leisurely pace there was no rushing from course to course. Thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon and have highly recommended to family and friends. Hope to return in the very near future.
Very good Sunday lunch. Old favourites with a typical Heaneys twist
Been to Heaney’s a few times now.
Outstanding dishes and great value.
Recommended this place to everyone who will listen!
Sunday lunch was fab.
One of the best fine dining experiences in Cardiff, with a great atmosphere and even better service
Everyone enjoyed them selves and the food was Spectacular 👌
Food was outstanding- flavours incredible. We will definitely be returning
It was a fantastic experience from being greeted at the door to leaving. Thoroughly enjoyed it. We will be returning thank you.
Food was lovely, the atmosphere was chilled and relaxed and staff were attentive and helpful dealing with queries quickly and quietly.
Excellent food and excellent service. Can’t fault it.
Two friends recommended that we try Heaney’s due to the quality of the food and service. We went on Saturday with high expectations and were delighted with the entire experience. Food was amazing (we tried Tom Kerridge’s restaurant a few weeks ago and Heaney’s was infinitely better.). We will be visiting again in December and have already booked a table. Wonderful!!!
As always the food was excellent. We had the shared taster menu for 2people.
We booked a table for 6pm&after requesting coffee at 8.15 we were asked if we minded taking a seat in the bar area where we could enjoy our coffee.I was disappointed that we had to perch ourselves on a bar stool!! This spoilt our experience on this occasion.
Fantastic food and service. Can’t wait to go back and try the other dishes that were not part of the taster menu
We were there for the collaboration tasting and wine pairing menu and it was a very special evening. The food as ever was top notch. The talk by an expert to introduce each if the wines was interesting and helpful. Service friendly and attentive. Thoroughly recommend.
We were first seated on arrival in a dark corner facing a wall.. This was quickly rectified to a front window seat.
I wish I lived nearer to Cardiff!
I appear to be in the minority because the place was packed , but this just wasn’t for me. The ‘sharing’ style of the menu meant tiny portions arrived in dribs and drabs over a 3 and a half hour period. The portions were very well prepared but difficult to split. Everything on the menu appeared to contain seafood. The chef kindly prepared some of the dishes without the fish element. Every item was also chilled or served cold. I’m afraid this just wasn’t for me. I was hungry when I left unfortunately! Our waiter couldn’t have been more helpful in fairness though, so thumbs up for that.
Best meal our entire vacation! Ate here on a Saturday night with my daughter and husband and loved the tasting menu took a while but we had all night. Best night out so much fun and meal was outstanding if you like sushi and are adventurous you will love this place
On arrival, we were greeted by a well mannered member of staff, who took our coats and hung them up, showed us our seats and gave detailed information on the ordering system. We decided on the Chef's tasters and, although the price was initially surprising, we were not disappointed and it was worth it. 10 courses and every one of them made us wanting more. Every dish that ended up on our table was gone in a heart beat with what can only be described as a 'foodgasm'. Highly recommended and looking forward to our next visit.
Good decor, very attentive staff, however I do not believe the food was worth the money. Also having your entire main menu incorporating both meat and fish into every single option. This forces those who don't eat fish to purely go for the vegetarian option.
Booked a table with friends following a morning walk. Couldn’t fault anything. Rachel who looked after us was first class, timing of food was excellent as there is nothing worse than one course following another too soon. Our only reservation was that it was probably too quiet , hence ambience score 4 stars.
The food was amazing... had a 3 course meal... I never wanted the food to end... absolutely stunning
Food was more tapas than fine dinning and really was neither . We had taster menu mostly cold food offerings . Marmite butter with sour dough bread was awful. Certainly won’t be returning. Very disappointing.
Great food, interesting combinations and flavours. Wine list was reasonably priced with some more unusual choices. The tables were close together and the place was noisy
Poor food and not enough food on the menu.
This is the third time I have dined at Heaney's and the welcome was as warm as ever. The food was inventive, tasty and carefully executed while the service was very professional.
Chef Heaney has got a gem of a team
Food good. Service at start & end of meal really let it down. Front of house team not bothered & more interested in chatting to mates. Pretty poor effort when you’re spending £170 for two.
5 star evening yet again. The four of us had the Chef’s Shared Tasting Menu which was great value at £42 each. Standout dishes were Dorset Oyster Cucumber Dill, Orkney Scallop XO Butter Lime and the Venison Cauliflower Onion Chocolate. The handwritten birthday card was a lovely touch.
Second visit for us to Heaney’s.
The food is outstanding, the introduction of the lunchtime set menu means we will probably now visit more often too.
Great atmosphere, fantastic service, lovely decor and easy parking.
Would and do definitely recommend to family and friends alike.
Strained effort by service staff. We’re we not good enough for their restaurant? Beautiful looking dishes but flavours lacking and clashing.
Great experience at Heaneys, everything from the service to the food was incredible! Xx
Such a fantastic place to celebrate a birthday
Food was outstanding staff couldn't have been more helpful with tasting menu as one of our party doesn't eat fish. Nothing was too much trouble and the alternatives were fab. Can't wait to go again.
