Hefe Rojo

They gave our reservation away even though we got there 5 minutes early. We were on a tight schedule so we had to leave and find another place to eat! Didn’t make me very happy!

Had reservations and still waited 45 minutes

What can I say, nothing like a cold shrimp taco. I’ve been here several times and I think this was the last time.

Brilliant and inventive specialty margaritas, lovely flavored food.

We made reservations For 6 p.m. And arrived there 5 minutes early. The lady who checked us in said wow, you guys are early. I verified with her that she had us down for 530p.m. And she said yes. Five minutes later another group came in, with less people than us. She sat them at the biggest table, which looked like could sit another 4 more people. We waited another 30 mins, and finally asked what was going on. She told my sister that reservations don't guarantee you a seat, and she couldn't ask someone to leave. Which is news to me, I thought that is what reservations meant. She said she could squeeze us in a table (that was supposed to fit 5, we had 6 ppl) , which we agreed to, since we were going to be late to our appointment. Was super turned off, since we were celebrating going out with friends we don't go out with often, and one of our birthdays. Super unimpressed. I never leave reviews, unless I leave feeling super unsatisfied.

The reservation system was very easy to do and we had no wait upon our arrival. Our server was excellent and very attentive and the Margarita was great. As for the food, it wasn't bad, but it also wasn't something to brag about. My husband ordered the shrimp and lobster taco's and they came in a hard taco shell making it hard to eat. He only got a hit of shrimp flavor as it was over whelmed by the sauce and the lobster was okay but more filler than lobster. I had the Ahi tuna tostada which was okay, but we both felt that everything had a store bought taste to it and came out of a package or can. Some minor changes could greatly improve the taste of the food.

The three of of us were celebrating a birthday and enjoyed a great meal at Hefe Rojo! One of us needs gluten free options and they were happy to accommodate.

Fun takes on Mexican appetizers and food, and good drink selection as well!

We had a reservation from open table which was not honored. We should have left when our table wasn’t available and they told us to wait at the bar. The bar tender couldn’t be bothered with us. He finally took our drink order after 20 minutes -we were the only people sitting at the bar. Eventually a table was available. It still had the previous occupants tab and tip on the table. After waiting 20 minutes my husband flagged down an employee who said we weren’t his table but he would take our order. We ordered chips & queso and the tacos. When the waiter dropped the queso off it was obvious it had separated and was watery and gross. He pretended not to notice. Our tacos were set down soon after. When we finally stopped him and asked him if the queso was always like this he said no & took it away. My tacos were cold and I never got the margarita I ordered. When the bill came we waited 20 mins for him to come back and told him to take off the queso which was still on the bill. Over priced and horrible service. Every employee should have training!

Food was cold, when brought back again it was slightly warm.

Great ambience, delicious food. Great service from our waiter Gunner. We will be back.

We made a reservation on a Thursday Downtown day and had the inside of the restaurant practically to ourselves. Great food and drink!

We always love Hefe Rojo, the Nachos are amazing. They seem to have a full service bar but can’t make mojitos. In past years they have been seasonal. I really wish they would bring them back. I am neither a beer or tequila drinker.

Reservation at 7:45. Waited at bar until 8:10 and got seated after asking the hostess again. Said she was waiting for us to inquire again. At 8:30, walked out because a server never showed up at our table.

It's truly a TREAT to dine at Hefe Roho... A full experience of satisfaction from ease of making a reservation online, excellent service, outstanding food.. And the ambiance is awesome. This night I topped off my dinner with Fried Ice Cream... Stupendous is a word to describe my dessert !

Highly recommended. Very good food. The appetizers were expensive, but otherwise great.

Seems like a fun place for drinks, but not as family friendly. Tacos were awesome, but everything else wasn't that great. Creamy chicken enchiladas were excessively creamy with not much chicken inside and queso was just okay. Chips were something you can get out of a bag from the grocery store and didn't taste fresh or authentic. Not dying to go back as there are too many other choices in town. Service was just okay, but we did go early so we didn't have to wait for a table over the dinner hours.

I love sitting outside but they put in booths and removed the umbrellas so the sun is glaring in your eyes. No longer enjoyable to sit outside.

Creamy chicken enchiladas for the win!

The environment, the staff and the food was fantastic! The vibe in the restaurant was modern casual and fun. The staff was very friendly but not over the top! The food presentation was done well but the flavor and texture was even better. Top of my Mexican food experiences! I recommend this restaurant who enjoy casual fine dining and great good!

We had attentive service after being seated quickly. These are advantages of an early dinner reservation. My husband’s tacos were good, as was the chocolate cake. Unfortunately my tostadas were soggy and the flavor was boring. Sticking to the tacos would have been a better idea.

Food was cold and our waiter only checked in on us once. Drinks were not refilled by waiter.

Great location, atmosphere, and service! A little disappointed on the queso dip (not much queso in dip), but had a fantastic server and enjoyed the entire experience.

Love the “paint my wagon” margarita!

We had a reservation and were immediately brought to our table upon entering the restaurant- nice.
Our server (Brooklyn? ) was great ! Very knowledgeable about the menu and had a good energy level.
The food was good. Our only complaint would be that the music was too loud to carry on a conversation. Overall very good and we hope to be back to sample more menu items.

Service was terrible. Not busy at all when we arrived for our 5:30 reservation, but tables weren't cleaned and we weren't acknowledged or seated for several minutes. Margarita and appetizer were good. Tacos never arrived, and after waiting 20 minutes watching food go by for other tables, we inquired what happened. Told there was a "computer problem" and our order hadn't gone in. We left.

Great food, service can be hit or miss, they can get really busy and then service takes a dive, if you get Nate tho then you will get great service. We got a booth so all was good, but if you get a table by the door you will be freezing as there is a bad draft from the door opening and closing.

We went to Heje Rojo to celebrate a birthday. Everyone was very pleased.
