Great food ! They do not serve brunch anymore .
We went for a birthday dinner and had a wonderful time. The two of us are fairly light eaters so we ordered 3 tapas to share, along with a birthday dessert that our server Aaron brought out! It was just the right amount of food. The ceviche had salmon which was new for us, but it was delicious. The pork belly was melt in your mouth fantastic, and the butteriness of the pork was balanced by the crispiness of the carrot slaw. The gnocchi...my god, the gnocchi! It was the fluffiest, airiest, lightest gnocchi I've ever had in my life. Hats off to Exec Chef Javier Uriarte. I can't wait to come back when the menu changes.
We had a reservation but still had to wait 30 minutes for our table, but once we were seated the service was phenomenal. We didn’t have to wait long for drinks or food to come out. This was my second time at Hendrix and I had a great time.
Great food, great service, beautifully decorated. Especially loved the freah flowers on the tables and in the ladies room. Also the treated the birthday girl to a glass of champagne. Awesome way to celebrate/girls night. Our waiter took his time and really catered to our party of 3. My only complaint.... the grits were salty but i cleared my plate. Will be back for date night or girls night out soon
First time dining at Hendrix. Service is great, clean dining /bar, food is okay. We did arrive at 4pm, after the Carolina football game and this may be why our experience was not what was expected.
Fantastic experience, server was excellent and food was out of this world!!
Thankful this restaurant had a vegan option! We had the Paella. It was excellent, just a little too much oil. I liked the atmosphere and our server was very polite and quick to serve. We would have stayed for dessert, but there was not a vegan option.
Great time on the rooftop before our dinner reservation. Server was friendly and gave details about all the locally sourced ingredients. Food was delicious and plentiful!
Our server was great!
Food was excellent. Great place to celebrate a special event or just a night out.
Great customer service, complimentary valet parking is a huge plus in their busy downtown location. Fresh and tasty menu, outstanding wine. Beautiful rooftop bar with various seating options.
Let me say right off the bat that the food is excellent. Hendrix is clearly set up for the bar scene, so their chef is wasted in this environment. The restaurant is too loud with music that does not support the food or decor. Yet, the wine list is quite interesting with a number of exceptional bottles listed. I personally think they are trying to be too many things for too many people. They could excel as a high end restaurant or as a sports bar. Pick one, but don't try to be both.
The menu is kind of limited, but there's certainly enough for anyone to find something they like. I had the swordfish, which was excellent. My wife had the mussels...she had two of them and thought they were terrible. However, our waiter kept asking if he could bring her anything else (she declined) and so he got the item taken off our bill without us even asking. The ambiance in the main restaurant was great. We went to the rooftop bar just to see what it was like and it seemed really nice. We'll be back when the weather cools.
Very good entree, but small portion for the price.
The rooftop bar is very nice. My husband was not happy with your choices of Scotch. No Dewars or Chevis.
Visited Hendrix for the first time to celebrate my best friend’s birthday. Started with appetizers & drinks at the bar. Wine selection is very nice. My friend enjoyed the beer selection. Fried oysters were perfect and tuna “ceviche” was phenomenal! The bar manager Sebastian was very accommodating. We shared the Paella for dinner wonderfully paired with an Albariño. The dish was bursting with flavors that were complemented by the al dente Arborio rice. Our evening was completed with cocktails on the rooftop and live music. Definitely an experience to repeat. Often!
WOW! We were pleased beyond words.
Swordfish was perfect. With a vegetable side that was the perfect combination.
My wife had Shrimp n Grits that after tasting , I begged for more .
Go here you will be pleased in palette , price , and place
The dinner and atmosphere were fantastic. A little trouble finding a parking space but was expected on a Friday night. We will be back.
First visit, food good; limited menu choices. Suggest adding a soup(s) and two additional entrees. Overall nice experience, setting and friendly.
We really enjoyed our first experience at Hendrix. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. I had the swordfish and really enjoyed it. My husband had the Paella. The rice was a little salty, but that is the only minor problem we experienced. We also had the steak tartar and ceviche, both of which were delicious. They had interesting cocktails too, although I had wine. The wine list was extensive and interesting. The rooftop bar was lovely!
For drinks, yes, I would recommend. The food was good but small in portion. Our server was great.
Fantastic food great service.
Wonderful atmosphere! The roof top bar is great and gives a nice view of the city. The food was spectacular as was the service. I will be back!
senior year move in.
Great atmosphere on the rooftop to start the evening off. For dinner we tried several tapas plates and enjoyed them all. The drinks were great and reasonably priced. Server was excellent!
Had my birthday dinner at Hendrix and ordered the paella, it was delicious! Everything was good, although I wish there had been salt and pepper on the tables because I could have used some salt on several things. But I like salt! The service was great! Prices are a bit high, but that's to be expected for this type of restaurant. The rooftop bar was nice, but that's a lot of stair climbing for some of the "over 50" crowd! Haha! Overall it was a great evening!
This was our first time dining at Hendrix. What a wonderful experience! Everything was exceptional! Hendrix will definitely be our next date night restaurant. And, we will ask for Amber. What a wonderful, informative wait staff. Thank you, Amber.
See you soon.
Always a great experience at Hendrix! Service was on point, the food was delicious and the atmosphere is always perfect! Great place for a date night or business dinner if you are looking to impress!
Outstanding food. Our server, Blaine, was super attentive and knowledgeable. Love this place!
When we arrived, our OpenTable reservation was not on their list. This is the second time this same thing has happened. I received an email or text after the time/date of the res that said our res had been cancelled by the restaurant.
We’ve been to Hendrix several times now and have loved every experience! It has a cool, energetic vibe and the menu is always changing and on-point. We usually go an hour or two early to enjoy live music and a drink on the rooftop before dinner. Sebastian, the bar manager, is our go-to, as he always has new wines (for me) and new bourbons (for the hubs) to try.
They do a great job of changing up the menu to use seasonal ingredients and we always try at least one new thing. Some of our favorite menu items are the Hendrix paella, duck and the market fish (last time it was swordfish). The ceviche and gnocchi from the small plates menu are also must-have’s.
This last time we visited, we were really impressed by our server, Cameron. He knew the ins and outs of everything on the menu and had great suggestions. Fantastic service!
We are so happy Main Street has become so vibrant and Hendrix is a very big part of that.
It’s was my wife birthday. My server was awesome the food was great.
Had a good first experience at Hendrix. The staff went out of their way to make sure we were take care of. Went upstairs to the roof top bar and the entertainment was great. Will go again.
Some of the food was very good, like the fried oysters and lamb tacos. The flat iron steak entree was good. My husband had the paella, which he said was good except for the mussels which tasted very bad. The noise level was bad, couldn’t even hear the waitress. Not sure if we will go back for a long time.
Delicious dinner as usual!
Really neat spot - our server (think his name was Tim) was awesome and the food was excellent
The food and service were excellent. Blaine was patient with us and fun. He provided explanations/descriptions where necessary and made sure we were happy.
The owner visited our table and we enjoyed a nice long chat with him.
The ladies’ restroom was clean, sleek, and bright.
I ended up splitting all my choices with others at the table which allowed me to sample a salad, entree and dessert- and was very full when I left! I chose the paella for my entree- don’t be afraid of the price if you can split with another- it is a VERY generous helping! We even split the leftovers and each had enough for a decent lunch. The paella was loaded with clams, shrimp and mussels, as well as some chicken and chorizo, and, best of all, the flavor was of authentic Spanish paella.
The arugula salad was fresh and tasty, and the flourless chocolate cake was dense, dark and delicious.
The wine list offered nice choices and variety. Because we went early, we were able to be seated at the large windows overlooking Main St, which added a nice feel to the overall experience.
Only negatives- it was noisy, (now known as “energetic“), and the entrance area for the ground floor business is still under construction, which gives the appearance of the entire building being under construction, making the initial impression confusing, at the very least. This, of course, will not last forever.
Looking forward to a return visit soon!
The chef Javier has an amazing menu and magnificent presentation of food. His personality is very sweet. He is extremely engaging. I love this place
We don’t typically go out to eat a lot because we are both good cooks. This was totally worth it. The food was amazing! We will definitely be back.
Way too loud. Food was good but they had limited choices. Rude fellow diners dressed inappropriately. I repeat WAY TOO LOUD. Yuppy millennial see and be seen, not the place for "fine" dinning. $13 for a half glass of wine
Great food, prompt service and a outstanding experience.
