Herbie's On The Park
fries or apple sauce
swiss cheese, caramelized onions, homemade pickles, mayo
Great pregame dinner with my wife before the Wild game!!! Food was awesome, service above and beyond. Couldn’t have been happier. Seating at the high top tables isn’t very comfortable. Only complaint. Please get new chairs. But the food and service were amazing. Will be back for sure!!!
Green meal We enjoyed the atmosphere and the food was great
We enjoyed the food and ambiance. The service was wonderful.
Perfect location next to the Ordway, excellent service, delicious food!
Went to Herbies before a Saturday matinee at the Ordway. We were lucky enough to score a booth. The service was great. My friends had the Herbie burger and I had the pecan crusted walleye. Everyone was very satisfied with their meal. I will definitely be back!
My date and I each had risotto (1special, 1 mushroom) and both were fantastic! Risotto is one of my favorite things to eat! And the Old Fashions were so nummy!!
Gorgeous place, classy. Staff were all very friendly. The food was outstanding. Tried the pretzel dip starter and they were hot and delicious, with a buttery sauce and tasty cheese for dipping. Then shared the grilled chicken sandwich - with Swiss, bacon, and a basil dijonaisse (sp) aioli. Fantastic. We are frequent Ordway visitors and so happy to find this venue right next door. We will be back!!
Waitress did a great job. Food was excellence and had a great time.
Warning. If reserving your table on opentable, be prepared that you do not get a chance to specify where you want to sit. They immediately tried to put us at a hightop in the bar. Given a physical issue, I asked for a low top table and we were told no. I stated that had I known this we would not have made reservations there, a month ago.
Went to Herbie's on Park for dinner before a concert at the Xcel. Our server was Taylor who did a terrific job. Food was good, beverages were good, and we were amazed at the teamwork exhibited throughout our dining experience.
My partner and I had a fantastic meal before a show at Xcel last evening. Between the two of us, we enjoyed the walleye and the pork chop. Both were outstanding, as was the wine and after dinner hand crafted cocktail. The atmosphere was lovely and inviting and the staff, very attentive. We received our food and drinks in a timely manner. (The added bonus was being mere steps away from Xcel on a frigid MN evening)! We will be back!
The atmosphere was wonderful and the view of Rice Park was beautiful with twinkling white lights. The food was horrible. I would maybe return for drinks only but definitely not the food.
Nice ambiance for the restaurant and loved the live band but the menu was very limited and and food was not good.
Chicken sandwich was tough and over cooked but the burgers salad and mushroom risotto were great
Went before a wild game and it was the perfect place. So convenient and the food and drinks were great.
What we were served does not match the menu items. Homemade potato chips that we were served were soggy and uncooked. Dip was not The same as on the menu. Restaurant serves hamburgers but does not have any other toppings other than what is listed. Two out of 10 stars for quality of food at best
Delicious food and great service. I really appreciate a restaurant that takes pride in the food they serve instead of serving cheap, tasteless slop. Not only was our waitress fabulous, but other employees would refill water, ask if we needed anything and remove dishes. Wonderful hidden gem!
Great service from beginning to end. Thank you for a wonderful lunch.
Nice, attentive and friendly staff. Great location and ambience. The food was a total disappointment. $35 walleye fish was inedible. Sad when the pretzel bite app ordered on a whim was the best thing we had. Very disappointing.
The wait staff was excellent!! The food was great, served hot and plentiful. Great place to have lunch or dinner if you are attending a play at the Ordway..just hop skip and jump away. Herbies is a beautiful restraunt, from the ceilings to the seating and also the bar.
Highly recommend Herbie’s! After taking my kids to the Science Museum we walked across the street to Herbie’s. It was like taking a step back in time with the beautiful architecture & decor. It has a swanky & cozy vibe. A fire was going in the giant fire place. The wait staff was friendly & accommodating. The food was dynamite! It is now one of my favorite restaurants in all of the metro area!
Dinner before a show. Excellent!!
Beautiful place, lovely fireplace, warm atmosphere
The speciality cocktails were creative and Pork chop dinner was gourmet level delicious
Great location and service. Avoid the Swedish Meatballs - BLAND, no flavor and watered down thin gravy with no taste. Flatbread and drinks were good.
It was a busy evening due to an event at the Xcel center. Our service was wonderful, staff is so friendly and knowledgeable and our food was delicious as always.
Be sure to check with the restaurant first. Came in looking forward to a good steak, but once seated we were told they don’t always use the main menu… It's different for "game nights" (which the paper menus said, even though there was no game". I suggested there be something saying that when reserving, but staff just passed the buck and said "Oh, that's something the manager would have to do", but didn't offer to pass on the suggestion or have the manager stop by the table. Also, had a dinner reservation but when I asked for a booth instead of a table, was told, “Well, it gets busy later so the booths aren’t available now.” It was empty except for us and the booths were right next to our table! What’s the reservation for then? Probably won't be back...
I've eaten at Herbie's several times (4 or 5) and can only remember one time where we were seated in the lovely library section. I don't mind being seated in the bar section enough to stop coming, of course, but it's noisy, the TVs are distracting and, at times, annoying when having a lovely dinner with friends or my boyfriend.
The food is always very good, and I've experienced very good service every time I've eaten there.
Food was OK, pulled pork sandwich with fries which arrived cold It needed to be redone or reheated. My real complaint is the “old lady shuffle” that we sometimes encounter. I had specifically reserved a dining room table and was told that none were available. First table offered was a high top right by a service area. Not acceptable. Second table offered was in the middle of an aisle between the bar and tables lining the wall, also not acceptable. Third table offered was a window table, which was perfect. But that table was offered only after I asked to speak to the manager. I just don’t get it. For those of you who manage restaurants, I would like to let you know that two older ladies spend just as much money in your restaurant as a group of males or a couple>
Food is delicious. A bit noisy, but great ambiance.
Great for drinks with friends, excellent food. Really like this place
Really enjoyed our first visit. Delicious burgers, salads and desserts. Plus we had tea service - very nice.
Holiday Sunday brunch for 11.
The only thing that saved the day was Santa Claus being there.
$25/each brunch with limited offerings. No table setting ambiance or holiday decorations... not even salt and pepper shakers. More like a picnic.
Hope the M Street Cafe is up and running next year.
This lunch was amazing disspointing. I was not informed of Santa Brunch and was planning on a nice lunch off the menu with my family pre-Ordway.
Brunch was a joke. Basic breakfast food that my nine year old could make. Dirty buffet, hair on 3 of 6 plates, servers w long hair hanging down the middle of their face and $25.00 for brunch.
Bummed! Willl never consider Herbies again. We are season ticket holders to the Wild so I was hoping this might be our new meeting spot.
We expected their brunch menu but were only offered a breakfast buffet with limited options for $25/person. Too bad … certainly not what I recalled from the past.
Brunch as expensive for the complexity and variety of food offered. Items were not replenished with regularity. We had to wait for items to be brought out.
I paid $147 dollars for four bloody Mary’s and 4 plates of the most pathetic food I have ever seen on a brunch menu. Cold soggy eggs, sausage and bacon that had been sitting for way too long, potatoes that were completely inedible and pastry. I could’ve taken my family to fast food and had better food. It was simply the worst food experience I have ever had.
The flip side of that is the service. She was doing the best she could, considering that everyone in the restaurant was complaining about the bare brunch that was inedible. It was embarrassing to bring my in-laws to such a horrible meal. Never again.
This is such a beautiful building, I mean beautiful and a great location. Not to mention the holiday lights time of year made it even more special. We had a party of 6 and came in late for our reservation and they were very accommodating. The food was good and the service was excellent. Our only complaint was that we got there at 7:30 on a Saturday night and the kitchen closes at 8 which we didn’t know prior to making the reservation. They did not rush us though and even stayed a little later than they probably wanted to in order to ensure we had a great experience. I would definitely go back but would just be sure to make an earlier reservation.
Our food flavorful and presentation well done. We sat next to the fireplace, so we were toasty warm. The atmosphere was beautiful, full of Christmas spirit.
Room exquisite!!!! Food ok.. staff delightful!!!!
