Hochi Mama

A little disappointing. We were expecting delicious food. It was OK. We were seated in a very noisy area near the kitchen and the food came just that little bit too quick...feeling like it was too mass-produced or something. Overall, a nice evening but a little underwhelming. Disappointed in the lack of knowledge the service staff had on the food and beverages - unable to pronounce the Vietnamese beer correctly - etc. It's important to get this stuff right - it's not hard - just a bit of training and cultural awareness.

Hochi Mama is a fantastic little Vietnamese inspired restaurant, catering for every diet, which was great given there was a vegan and pescatarian in the group.
It's a bustling fun space, but can get very noisy, so it's difficult to talk to people at your table without shouting, if this is not an issue, well there's not much to complain about. The service was very attentive without being intrusive, the food was yummy, the cocktails were good, with a few unusual, fun options, the wine and beer lists are good.
Definitely worth a trip into the city from the burbs, we'd definitely go back again to sample more of the food and cocktails.

Really lovely food and service. We had a party of 10 & everyone thoroughly enjoyed it.
My only negative comment would be the acoustics. It was very noisy & we had to shout to hear each other.

Had lunch here and it was great. Service, quality and quantity is amazing. Worth your time and $$$. Space a little small and they are very accommodating to help and be comfortable. We had a pram and needed a high chair. Great for people with babies or kids

We had a wonderful meal here with our young family. The food was incredible but what I didn’t expect was for the staff to be just as good as the food. Not every restaurant is so welcoming to younger children but the staff were so attentive and kind. When the entrees came out and they realised (without us saying anything) that we didn’t yet have any food for our youngest (she was just having rice and roti) they offered to have all the food brought out at once, which suited us perfectly and we had it very quickly (although we were at an early sitting and the restaurant wasn’t very busy yet so this speed may not always be possible). Also, the guy taking our order was so intuitive about popping the order through with sauces on the side so as to to keep things mild for the kids but to allow us to enjoy the amazing flavours they packed into the sauces.

We felt so welcome and it was so nice to enjoy the beautiful food and allow the kids to try some new foods (although aside from the youngest they’re pretty good eaters and have tried most things).

We can my wait to come back.

Had the set menu and there was so much food!!! Each item was mouthwatering and as much as we could, we didn't get near finishing it all. The service was fantastic and so were the cocktails.

Definitely a place for the younger crowd. Very loud, difficult to hold a conversation over a table for 2, varying level of service from staff... call me old fashioned but midriff tops in hospitality aren’t my thing. Food was good and price was reasonable.

The food and service was wonderful. The "Me Hungry Now" deal is value for money and the dishes we chose were delicious. The only critique I have, is that it did get quite loud, so it was difficult to have a conversation with my partner. Other than that, food and service was 10/10.

Great please for dinner. Went there for our anniversary and the food and drinks were delicious, and the wait staff are all super lovely. highly recommend the silken tofu dish, and the deal on the side of the menu (2 small, 2 large, 1 side) for $34pp

Food was excellent. Unfortunately we were seated outside and it rained so I literally sat in the rain as they could not move us.

We had the lunch special, plenty of food and very tasty. I have been there twice now and would not hesitate to go again.

Great evening out. Delicious food and great service.

Not a bad place, but overpriced considering. As nice as the staff where, they require serious training about how to engage with customers. We were interrupted a total of 11 times during the course of our meal. We also had food taken away whilst still dining and felt hounded to leave, so made a quick escape after 45 minutes in total. A word of advice, leave people alone to enjoy their food and remain vigilant to the customers needs.

Have been to Hochi Mama 5 times this year, and the service is fantastic each and every time. Servers are lovely and accomodating, food is absolutely fantastic and the "Me Hungry Now" or set menus are bound to leave you with leftovers as servings are so generous.
