Hofbrauhaus St Louis-Belleville
Sunday brunch was so yummy and glad we were able to try all of the food from the menu! We will definitely be back to enjoy again!!
Very fun place, they had a live band playing when we went (not sure if that’s every day or just certain days???). People were getting up and dancing and the music was interactive. Expect it to be loud though! Food is delicious, service is great. Go there for a funny, crazy Friday
Food tasted like it was prepared a week ago kept in the fridge. Red cabbage had some kind of thickener in it. Meat was fair
I requested potato pancakes and got cold potato soup
They should just stay with beer pretzels and music
Stop serving food
Definitely had a fun time but they could turn down the volume a few dozen decibels. I get that it is a beer house party atmosphere but there is no way to have any normal conversation while the band is playing. Prices were a little highso I will probably only be back for a special occasion.
We were driving in from out of town and wanted to stop before the St. Louis arch tour. We called ahead and they had our meal and seating waiting for us. Thank you so much for a great experience! In 1995, I went to the original in Munich and this place definitely reminded me of that great experience as well !
Hofbrauhaus was VERY loud, even with very few patrons. They could do with some dampening of the sound.
Food was great. Beer was cold and delicious.
Service was SLOW. Evidently, not enough servers. 25 minutes is too long between being seated and getting drinks. Then another 15 minutes to order.
We had a very enjoyable time. I am often in Germany and was worried that the american version would be something akin to Hooters. I was pleasantly surprised. We enjoyed the authentic music.
I’ve been to this location two times. Both times the food was cold when we received it (sauerbraten). Also, we had some of received our food quickly, while other members of our party received theirs after the people who received theirs were finished. The servers were friendly, but someone should have offered a discount to the people who received their food late. The music is fun though.
I would definitely recommend a reservation for the weekends!! Food was great! Our waitress was having a rough night/busy, forgot some of the things we ordered, but overall a must do
Great place to bring the kids and grandkids. They always love the band and music
645pm reservation turned into 700pm seating. Food was delish, service was great!
Had table reserved for 6pm, did not get seated until 6:30pm. We arrived at 5:50pm while others came in after us and were seated ahead of us.
When our food was delivered, servers just stood there and waited for us to tell them who got each dinner. We had two checks and when they came, the orders were crossed and wrong. Just a disappointing experience as we had been before and brought friends back with us this time.
I made a reservation for 6 pm for a high top table. We had to wait over 30 minutes for our table and they did not seat us at the high top that I reserved. The staff at the from door was not friendly and they were telling people that walked in with no reservations that it would be a 30 minute wait......then why did I have to wait over 30 minutes when I had a reservation???? The food was good and our waiter was great. It was extremely loud(but I expected that). My only complaint is that I had to wait for over 30 minutes when I had a reservation.
Went when they first opened and service was horrible. This time pleasantly surprised by the service. Saturday reservation for 4 at 6 and still had to wait 15 minutes. LOUD in the dining hall, should have eaten outside. Food order came out incredibly fast and order was correct. Food is good but on the expensive side.
It’s not a place to hold any kind of important conversation unless you’re on the patio. But the music, beer, food, and cheer are great!
Food and service were good
Portions too large
Extremely noisy—difficult to carry on conversation
We took visitors from Germany and had a great time
Wonderful brunch - enjoyed the German band and our waitress was great. Very friendly and helpful.
It’s so noisy you have to yell to talk.
Our kids got their meals and they had forgotten to make ours so we waited another 10 minutes for our food. Then they dropped the granddaughters food in the floor and she had to wait another 10 minutes. It was chaos that wasn’t fun. The only good thing was the young bus boy who was working his tail off that we observed.
The vegetarian schnitzel was boring. I consider it the least possible thing you could do to appease the vegetarian crowd. It was a tasteless blob of fried something.
Food was great! Service wasn’t great. Server forgot our starter twice, finally cancelled the order.
Service was horrible and food very dry.. good date night deal.. the horn almost continuously was blown which got very ignoring..
This was the nicest German restaurant we’ve tried. (And we’ve been to a few.) An easy drive over the JB bridge from St. Louis. The food was elevated and everyone enjoyed their dish. Potato pancakes not to be missed. I had the Jaeger schnitzel with spaetzel. My brother in law said the house made beer on tap was really good. My husband liked the half chicken and the apple strudel with ice cream for dessert. Our server was pleasant but could have been more attentive. My husband never got his second cup of coffee, even though she said it would be two minutes while they brewed a fresh pot. The place is huge and the parking lot could use some “which way” arrows painted on the concrete. We parked in the first lot we came to which had a lot of cars. Turns out it was the back of the building. Signs on the building pointed to the main entrance, which was helpful. I wish they had an Exit Only sign at the open gate to the patio. We went in there and never made it to the front of the building as the rest of our party was already at the bar. It was loud, and while I’m not fond of Alp The phorn/Accordion Polka music, it seemed appropriate for the venue experience.
Nice brunch. Many options to choose from on the buffet. Upper server was excellent. Pleasantly surprised with the beermosa.
Our second experience and it was even more disappointing than the first visit. With a large group and service was deplorable. Took forever to get our drinks. Food was served almost immediately after we received appetizers. Two people in our group did NOT get their meals. Took server 10 minutes to check on us since she did not serve our meals to realize two people did not get meals. When the two meals finally came out one meal was completely incorrect. Had to wait another 10 minutes for the correct meal. By this time everyone in our party was finished eating. In defense of our server, she was covering way too many tables. Restaurant was under half full but inadequate staffing. We did have reservations also so they knew our large group was coming. Our server did everything she could by offering free dessert which one person accepted. The other person was credited their meal....which was subpar at best. The German potato salad was cold and resembled applesauce. Server was visibly upset about all the errors. Again, she was completely overworked in our opinion. Most of our group somewhat enjoyed the food, however some of the meals were small in size. Many of us wanted drink refills and had to wait forever. We left Hofbrauhaus and went elsewhere to have drinks and appetizers. We will NOT be back.
Overall, glad we came here once. Not sure we would return. Waitress was great, but kitchen was slow so we waited a very long time for our food. Waited thirty minutes for desserts to come out once we ordered. Food was good, but only lukewarm. Ambiance was great. Beer was good!
We waited almost 1 1/2 hours for our food- tables around us sat after us - big parties- got their food- ate and left before we got ours. Our server was wonderful- your manager made her cry because she kept checking on our food- I spoke to the manager and said - how is it her fault- and how horrible to make a young girl cry. We won’t be back. Even the outside has weeds growing everywhere- looks horrible!
Waited even though we a reservation. Had to wait for one order while others were eating. Extremely loud. Food was just so so.
Went for the Sunday brunch which was amazing
Booked our reservation for 10 people on a Sat nt; we were given times of 4:00 pm or 8:00 pm, we took 8 pm. The place was not even a 1/4 full, so I feel like we could've gotten a table earlier no problem if we just showed up. Very cool building and environment, however very loud. Service was good, food was ok but overpriced, a cheese plate cost $17, and we requested extra crackers as they only gave us 4 on the plate, and they charged an extra $1 for more crackers. Beer was good, didn't get much Brewhaus fun from the place because no one was there. Great concept, and should be a blast, unfortunately it doesn't appear to be making it. We've experienced it, and all decided it was overpriced for what we got, and most likely would not go back.
We had wonderful service the first time we went. We took our Grandpa for his birthday celebration and had poor service. The food was great.
First time here...
First of all; our server was very polite, but too inexperienced. We were there for a total of 3 hours. We actually felt bad for her. I feel that she shouldn’t have been on her own quite yet. I think we saw her maybe 4 times in the time we were there. Not familiar with the menu or drinks at all. Then one member at our table received his food, followed by 2 trays of incorrect food (30 minutes later) that was for other tables. He was the only one with food for 30 minutes!
When the remaining food came out it wasn’t even warm. We didn’t want to send it back because we didn’t know if/ when we would see our server again. I had to go up to the front to try to pay our tab. I asked to take the desserts off (before receiving them) so we could just pay and get out of there.
They eventually came out and were horrible. Tasted like a frozen cake that was thawed out. We were eventually able to pay our tab. Sadly to say, the only positive experience was the band.
Unfortunately we will not be back. We had a great time at the location in Panama City, but not here.
Love the restaurant food was excellent! The music was way way too loud!
Fun cool restaurant/ loved the food - ambiance- band was great - service was excellent- only negative was it was soooooo noisy! Charming place though
Reminded me of Germany. The food was good. The service was a little slow but everything was accurate. The band was a lot of fun. All in all, I will return.
Our service was terrible. After waiting for a waitress for 10 minutes, it took another 30 minutes to get drinks alone. People who came in after us had beverages before we even saw a waitress. We allowed an hour and a half for dinner and needless to say we did not meet that time frame. We asked for our checks as soon as the food came. The atmosphere was extremely loud as well making it difficult to carry on a conversation.
It was a fun experience for all of us. Family friendly and the entertainment was great. The food was very good along with all the employees we came in contact with. Will definitely return.
Food was just ok. I have had better strudel, sauerbraten, red cabbage and spaetzle. Music was very good but way too loud. The potato pancakes were good. I ran into a friend there. She said she had sausage and it was just ok. The restaurant was clean and nice. I am not sure that I will return. There are a couple of restaurants in the St. Louis area that serve the same food that tastes better. Sorry, you asked for my opinion.
The food was delicious! The staff were all very polite. We will be returning again soon.
Great atmosphere and experience overall. The food was not the best but others at my table really enjoyed their meals.
Not sure what went wrong but service was very disorganized. Beautiful facility, decent food but service made for an overall negative impression...sorry!
