Service was very slow and inconsistent. However, the Food was excellent. Pictures of restaurant was a bit deceiving of size!
High volume of “to go” orders, almost need to separate from diners, Definitely would help to dedicate an employee to this service; takes away from the “dine in” experience.
We enjoyed our meal very much. The haramuki and seafood soup were delicious. (Be warned..the soup is enough for two) The sushi was good with the John's Island roll being a standout. Very small, casual place - not fancy and no ambiance. The service was wonderful.
We went for a date night and expected a little bit more ambiance from the pictures. Half of the space was as advertised and the other half felt like a take out center. For a relaxed date, lunch or a quick bite it is perfect. If you want fancy all the way around I would opt for another choice.
Expecting a habatchi grill but was more of a casual diner.
Super fresh fish, the sushi and sashimi for two was wonderful!
Enjoyed a lovely evening at Hokkaido with family.
Attentive and welcoming service, great food and good value.
We will definitely return.
Food was fantastic. The waitress was super sweet. I recommend the fantastic roll or the John's island roll. Happy hour rates are the best.
Really friendly staff and good quality rolls for a reasonable price. The negotiable gyoza was very good. I had the crispy rolls and enjoyed them very much. They have a wide range of items to choose from in the menu and my entire group enjoyed their dinner and we all agreed we would return.
Went to Hokkaido for the first time. We had a party of 7 which included my 3 grandchildren (6, 3, everything being fresh and tasty. Our server was quick and gracious and very accommodating with the kids which included the inevitable spilled water glass, shrimp on the floor, and of course some running around. The place is rather small and we were the only ones dining in so I don't know how the kids would have made out if it had been crowded. We started with edamame, spring rolls, and vegetable gyoza all of which were delicious. The miso soup was very good as well. My daughter and I had the sushi regular and my wife got 3 sushi rolls. The kids had the shrimp tempura off of the children's menu. We also had the warm saki. All very enjoyable!
New restaurant in Charleston near the Citadel. Great food and excellent service at affordable prices. The team there eagerly looks forward to you trying them out.
