Our group of six had a great time. Our server, Mark, was fantastic. He informed us well of all the options and locations, along with keeping or bottomless drinks bottomless!
Incredible food, incredible service...just amazing! I know now why this place is such an icon.
Great Sunday brunch with endless champagne. The food was very good and many choices and variety. Service was very nice and professional with great personality.
Food selections were limited, so noisy and no service
Overall not impressed with the quality of the food for the price and the bloody mary was almost undrinkable. Additionally we witnessed a man sneeze all over the shrimp display... maybe some sneeze guards would be nice. The space is beautiful though.
Celebrated a birthday brunch here. Our service was amazing, we had Ramsey and he did an amazing job!! The food is good, lots of selection. My only negative would be the seafood setup, we went for the seafood and I was disappointed. It is definitely worth experiencing once but not worth the money to go again. The best part of the experience was our server who surprised the birthday boy with crème brûlée that he made by hand.
Sunday brunch at Hotel del Coronado has really declined over the years. The quality and selection of food is no longer worth the price. In addition, only valet parking is available for $20.
The hostess was going to put us in the back of the room, I asked for better seating, which she was able to accommodate. However, the service was terrible. We watched as the wait staff was providing excellent service to the table on both sided of us, and we were just overlook many times. There was, what appeared to be a manager checking i, and my husband had a word with him about the service. He did provide an adjustment to our total bill and apologized. The waiter came over and just addressed how busy he was, I know, he was providing excellent service to tables next to us. We have been coming to the Hotel Del for 15 years to enjoy their restaurants, this was just one experience that we rather skip in the future. Especially when you’re paying a lot of money, for brunch in the crown ballroom.
Food did not measure up to the hype. Many of the hot dishes I tried were Luke warm at best. No one checked on our table the whole time we were seated. I had to find someone to pay our bill. We ate about $30 in food for a bill over $200 for two people. Hotel was really crowded and the front driveway had a long wait for passenger drop off/pick up. Overall would not recommend this to anyone. Cool place to walk around though.
Many options and most are very good but hard to get your money’s worth...
Beautiful place over all
We have been to many upscale brunches and this brunch was unique. They had a phenomenal seafood bar, carving station, breakfast station, and a twist on dessert (homemade cotton candy and an ice cream bar). Overall the food was good, but the service was spotty (it took me quite a while to get someone to refill my coffee). Also, for an upscale brunch, while unique, I would have suggested better desserts. The cotton candy and ice cream with candy bar was nice for kids, but not as much for adults. Finally, I thought the price was a tad high for the level of offerings and service.
Yes, it was a great experience with my family we had a great time. The waiter was just so kind and after I asked for a drink to go because I had a long drive she went out of the way to make sure my whole family had something to drink. It was how she did it that was just so kind and sweet. I feel people make a experience food can only go so far. Such great people that work at the Del and the food was very good as well.
Only bad thing was the valet, it took 45 minutes to get our car! And we had to ask twice so they didn’t forget us at that. I’m sorry but after paying almost 400$ for brunch this isn’t anything less then negligent. Pease get a better valet system or self parking. That’s not okay.
The food & ambiance, as always, was outstanding. I would give an 11 out of 10 if I could. We have enjoyed this brunch many times over the years & the was the 1st time our waiter was horrible. Inattentive & hard to find. Not at all like every other waiter we have had.
The service was great the food was just ok. My husband said my cooking is much better.
It's a little pricey if you're not drinking any alcohol but still worth the experience!
The Crown Room offers an experience to make any occasion special. Food selection is varied and tastefully prepared. Traditional brunch foods including eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, waffles, ham, turkey, prime rib and sides are offered in addition to varied seafood, sushi and ramen options. Fresh fruits and various salads are also available. Bottomless mimosas and Bloody Mary’s are great choices as well as coffee, tea and juices. Dessert options are numerous and bite sized. The candy counter even included made to order cotton candy!
Service is outstanding and seating options are best with early reservations. Plan to spend time enjoying the amazing selection.
The Hotel Del ambiance enriched the experience.
Parking is $20 with validation and only valet is currently available due to construction
We were disappointed. This was a return visit 15 years later to celebrate our anniversary. It has changed into a Hilton Hotel loosing the ambiance of the old charm of the Del. I understand that marketing changes are necessary to be profitable. We will not return to the Crown Room.
Great place but still overpriced for what it is: an awesome selection of great food in an old, dark hotel in need of some modernization. I get that it's persevering an former time, but this dining room is weathered and too dark. It would look better even with just new floors or brighter accents.
No matter what you serve: most people will not eat more than 2 servings for their first meal of the day.
Lastly, the parking should be free or 1/4 of the cost.
Everything was excellent! We felt welcomed immediately and enjoyed every minute! Will be back again! Thank you!

I recommend people try the Sunday Brunch at the Crown room at least once. Just to say you’ve tried it. It’s such a historical and beautiful room. For the price however, the food was sadly not worth it.
Nice place, great service, good food, over priced. Would only go here maybe once every 5yrs. We had eight people, and they squeezed us into a table that had seating for six. It was very cramped. Made it uncomfortable & crowded with all of the dishes.
Extremely expensive plus paid $20 for parking (a discounted rate). Have been to this brunch several times and believe the quality has gone down since prior visits.
I felt it was slightly overpriced. The food was good, but not worth 100 dollars a head. Alcohol selection was good. I would for sure go back again if the prices were lowered.
Excellent meal and service and very authentic and worthwhile! Highly recommend!
A must do if you’re in the San Diego area. From the beautifully appointed Crown Room, to the amazing waitstaff, to the delicious food, it was all top notch. Worth every penny to experience a decadent dining experience. You definitely won’t leave hungry or disappointed.
Highly recommend this brunch for special occasions - the room is lovely, the food was delicious- and selection was limitless! We all enjoyed it tremendously
Nice, fancy brunch. Pricey but you're paying for the atmosphere
Family meal on vaca
Last time I came to this infamous brunch was in 2003....and boy has it gone down hill since that glorious visit. Quality and presentation of the food is totally boring and average, wait staff isn't classy at all.... everything looks cheap and mass produced....crab legs were still frozen, bread straight out of a bag, ambiance was terrible....not upscale at all. Will not be back. $98 per person...
They serve J Roget champagne and rot gut booze. King crab legs were not as advertised. Definitely NOT worth $100 per person.
Excellent seafood waiter staff was great bring your appetite it’s $98 a person
Total Rip-off with terrible service ! High way Robbery !
The Crown Room Brunch at the Del was great. Many varieties of food all cooked to perfection. My 22 and 10 year old loved dressing up and enjoying the brunch. The brunch is held in the iconic Crown Room and has excellent views of the Coronado beach and Pacific Ocean. Come hungry to make the $100 a head worth it.
Outstanding! Best brunch around
Beautiful place to have brunch! Quite expensive, but the food is great and the custom stations are a very nice touch. You can make your own omelettes and custom bloody marys. Will definitely come back in the future!
Great variety of food stations. The selection had changed somewhat since our visit for brunch last year which is nice that they keep the experience fresh. The ahi tuna offerings were especially nice as was the Ramen station.
