Fabulous food and service!
BEST BRUNCH ever!!!! Loved the Japanese section:-). my daughter loves Japanese food. And I loved the Lamb:-). Will definitely be back!!
Excellent brunch and service
Extravagant, over the top, pricey, once in a lifetime and absolutely not to be missed.
Wonderful experience. Staff was exceptional in particular Yvonne. Well worth the price!
Amazing!! Thank you for the royal treatment! Can’t wait to bring the whole family next time.
Tons of food and great variety. Everything we ate was wonderful.
The food was really good and the service was excellent.
We've been here before and we enjoyed it very much. Top notch service, food, and ambiance.
I think if you have never been to this brunch, that it is a great experience to try at least once. That being said, now that I have done it (it was on my bucket list), I do not think I would go back. The food was very good and there is a great variety of options, however, there are definite improvements that could be made to the service and outdated/banquet decor for the price you are paying.
Excellent selection of food and quality, wait staff was very customer focused. Only complaint we had was lack of dress code. Given the setting and price, I would expect jeans and baseball caps would not be permitted.
Excellent place to eat outstanding food. I would visit this place again in a heart beat.
Tremendous selection.... and everyone was super courteous
Fabulous!!!
The brunch is amazing....
Our favorite brunch spot. Definitely make reservations because brunch is popular. The choices are endless.
It was amazing! Beautiful, and so very yummy!! It’s a perfect place to celebrate an anniversary or a intimate birthday. Very romantic and so beautiful!! The staff goes above and beyond! Would definitely go back! And recommend to a friend!
We had such an amazing experience, we stayed for the day and went on a haunted tour of the historical place! ❤️
The food , service, and setting make for an incredible experience. Ask for Eva as your server.
My recommendation would be to request a table close to the windows. We were seated in the back of the room which was very dark. Overall, it was a good experience though!
Other than having a tray full of drinks and it was a tray full of drinks, spilled over two of my guests, my birthday brunch was memorable to say the least!
Have been to the famed Crown Room Brunch at the Hotel del for a number of years.
Price has, as expected gradually creeped up to near the 100 mark.
So, this experience is pretty much reserved for out of town guests/special occasions.
Drinks were included which helps a little.
Compared to my more recent visits, this was a bit of a disappointment, overall.
Breakfast station was the usual, omelette station, breakfast proteins on the side, but instead of traditional eggs benedict offered, it was made to order poached egg on English muffin but no protein. No poached/smoked salmon, or Canadian bacon. Spinach. Was disappointing as I usually like getting the eggs Benedict at Sunday Brunches.
Asian inspired station had steamed dumplings and mini char siu steamed buns. Meh. There was also a ramen station but I didn't bother.
Seafood station was good; cocktail shrimp were of considerable size, and fresh; crab legs were pre split, which often times means they will have lost a good amount of their briny flavor. This was also the case.
I would prefer intact crab legs and nutcrackers so I can crack on my own and enjoy a much more flavorful crab experience.
Sashimi offerings were very fresh albeit limited to tuna and salmon. Wasabi was present, but you had to go back to the Asian station for soy sauce.
Carving station was front and center, and for the most part it was very good. Leg of lamb was short on flavor, however. Sliced pork belly was very good, as was the prime rib, if not a tiny bit short on flavor.
Dessert station was plentiful and I applaud the choice of small bite sized portions, so one can sample many more choices before getting too full. If you haven't already reached your seams-bursting point yet.
Gelato was also offered, but wasn't the best I've had.
I do remember they had another station in the past, with paella, and was looking forward to that. Alas it was not to be.
Overall nice experience. Just not quite up to the 100 per person they charge.
Incredible brunch with something for everyone. The service was incredible. The food was amazing. I really appreciated the variety of seafood and sashimi.
Put us in ballroom instead of Crown room
Offered 20 percent discount to stay. Never honored discount food was cold on almost everything huge disaapointment uae to be outstanding no longer downhill brunch from hell
It was not in the actual Crown Room due to some construction. We should have been informed of this ahead of our reservation. Everything was on temporary tables and the experience was not as grand as it was described. Do not think I will pay $98 per person for this again or even recommend it. The food was okay, nothing that I would expect in a 5 star hotel.
What a complete disappointment. The windows were filmed to obscure the view; I thought we were paying the high price for the view because the interior wasn’t anything special! When our waiter, who didn’t really understand english, brought lukewarm “at best” coffee to our table, it took him five rounds to finally get right, kind of! He was very inattentive, did not clear plates from the table “I had to”, did not keep the water glasses filled “I had to”. It’s sad for out-of-town visitors that come to the historic Hotel Del for a one-of-a-time grand experience and don’t receive the service they deserve. Although the food was fantastic. We live in San Clemente and have stayed at the Del, I didn’t remember poor service like we just had.
Construction made in disappointing
More variety of food options than most places, bottomless mimosas and excellent service.
The food was amazing and service was excellent. Very worth it!
Signed up for “Crown Room Brunch” and got “Ball Room” instead, a far inferior venue. Worse yet, the entire pool/cabana portion of the Del is a construction site, so all the windows of the Ball Room are covered in an opaque film to avoid the eyesore. First world problem, I know, but “Brunch at the Del” was a SD bucket list item for us, and I walked away from the experience feeling that it was $250 wasted. I would not recommend anything there until the construction is over, and frankly don’t feel the hotel should be charging full price. I also don’t feel that the Ball Room matches the ambience of the Crown Room and would caution brunch-goers to confirm with a phone call.
The only reason I gave a 4 stars for the value is that I don't eat $98 worth of food. Overall, this is a excellent place to have a Sunday Brunch with a vast selection of quality items to choose from. Highly recommend for a special occasion.
Charlie was attending us and he was absolutely wonderful. He was informative, attentive, and personable. I would recommend him when you go. The experience was perfect!
Had previously heard how over the top and incredible the brunch was. I had heard about chocolate fountains and delicious food options. There was no chocolate fountain and some of the food, mainly the roast beef’s gravy and the mashed potatoes, were so salty they were hardly edible. Maybe changes were made when Hilton took over? The service was incredible and everything was very clean. But the food should have been better. A bucket list check off for us, but we won’t be returning for such a steep price.
An amazing experience. I would go again and definitely recommend anyone to go. The price is worth everything you get. The staff is amazing and our waiter and waitress was amazing. Thank you!
Food quality was poor considering the price. They should set a price for non-free-flow for drivers.
Food not very good and nowhere near the quality for the price of brunch. Service was terrible and had to ask for things or go find them ourselves. Prime rib wad good and a few of the desserts but other than that, I've had better at Golden Corral and it's not $100.00 a person.
We had the brunch experience at the Crown Room and the food and service was outstanding. If you love food and great ambiance from a time good by, this is the place to go. Make it your next brunch stop, it will be memorable.
My boyfriend and I had the best time! I recommend waiting until at least 11 am if possible since most families have cleared out or are on the way out and it felt like a fresh batch of food on all of the buffets. Short lines too! We planned on staying as long as possible to celebrate my Veteran for Veteran Day and we made it to nearly 3 hours. Our server was very attentive with the mimosas and the staff seemed genuinely happy. 10/10, 5 stars, Diamond rating. Can't wait to go back!
Slow service, undercooked omelets, little food for vegetarians. Refill of mimosas ordered never arrived. Poor dress code of audience in a beautiful room, and hotel. Felt like a cattle call. Not worth premium $$$.
Enjoyable, relaxed meal! Great setting in the beautiful Coronado Hotel. Amazing variety of food. Many prions made to order.... fresh and abundant! Bottomless mimosas and bloody Mary’s. Service was attentive. Would definitely return!
Slow service for coffee refills and table clearing.
