Houlihan's - Paramus

Favorite Houlihans restaurant, great ambiance, friendly server, good food and great drinks.

Food was average, price was good, because of covid restrictions not sure it's a fair review of the establishment, but it has indoor dinning so that's a plus !

Bad food terrible service. Will NEVER ago there again

The server act like she had an attitude the food was all wrong..Pasta was bland steak was dry tacos was dry the drinks was a glass of ice the Thai chili wings was the best part

A lot of gnats by our table and the table and chairs were dirty. Expected to be more clean especially now.

All the staff were very friendly, were diligent about placing groups well apart. Food was good, and well-priced. We would go back again!

Lovely Thanksgiving meal. Traditional turkey dinner was great. Service was very pleasant especially as the waiter was working on a holiday! The Covid spacing and other procedures were in effect and my party of 3 felt quite safe and comfortable. They made a very pared down Holiday as pleasant as possible.

Food is quite good, service is excellent, value is great especially when they have specials. The manager (sorry, I didn’t get his name) is ever present & continually checks to be sure you are satisfied

Restaurant clearly had a long busy day and were tired and Frantic by the time we got there. So we gave them some grace. Bathroom was a mess though. Table was not clean but server was kind and re-cleaned it herself. Overall a good experience. Just happened to be there at the end of a rough day.

Excellent food! Steak and potatoes were delicious. Overall great value and we will definitely be back!

We were very disappointed the waiter did not tell us in advance about items on the menu that they did not have, which happened to be what we attempted to order. The broccoli was not fresh and the seasonings were terrible.

server forgot my wife's special request for marinara sauce and only brought a small amount. My meal was seared scallops and risotto. The scallops were good but could have been seared more the Risotto was good but the portion was small. the menu description
called for asparagus and arugula and I thought there was not enough asparagus and the
arugula did nothing to accentuate the dish.

Despite COVID restrictions, there were no issues - we did reserve through open table in advance. Food was fresh and good, service excellent (perhaps better than during normal times), restaurant was clean.
We had expected a limited menu, but that was not the case.
Will definitely return.

Food wasn't the same quality as in the past and service took too long.

We chose to eat outside which was a big mistake. The gas heating lamps did not help mitigate the cold and we were very uncomfortable. On top of that the kitchen was running with one cook, we were told, so we waited 45 minutes for our entrees. The manager made amends but the cold definitely impacted our experiment a negative way.

food and service were good. Nothing beyond, just good. (No complaints at all).

Fortunately, we went before everything closed up.

We love Houlihan’s! We always enjoy the food and atmosphere!

I waited 90 minutes for food. It was not even that busy. They also brought wrong appetizer

Food was cold. Baked potato was hard as a rock and ice cold. Had to put out a search party for our server to get a refill for our drinks.

Sadly this was one of the worst dining experiences I have had lately. When we arrived they didn’t have our reservation and we had to wait 20 minutes for a table. Once we were seated the service was bad and very slow. Once our food did come out one of our entrees was forgotten. It was a painfully long dinner, with everything just not going well. If the food was good it might have redeemed it but everything was mediocre. The manager came over to try and apologize and even took money off the bill which was greatly appreciated. I wouldn’t recommend anyone going there and doubt I will ever eat at a Houlihan’s again.

Very disappointed. Was there on St. Patrick’s Day expecting to see lots of spirit and catch bagpipes. There was nothing special going on. Not even Irish music streamed. I was there at 5:30 thinking it would be prime time. I guessed I missed the mark thinking it would be a festive crowd.

We enjoyed the food and service was very good, but lack of communication led me to believe I could use a Darden gift card, when I inquired by phone, I was later informed that I could not, which was a bit unsettling, our check was discounted, which was comforting considering the mix up, other than that, it was an enjoyable dinning experience.

I made a reservation and they told me that they had to seat me a few minutes before the time or I might lose my table. My friend was a few minutes late so the waiter tried to take my order even though she hadn’t arrived. She wasn’t there two minutes when he kept hovering trying to put the order in. When we needed him, he was nowhere to be found. Had to get one of the other servers to find him so we could get refills on our sodas. Service tends to be hit or miss here.

I had to wait 25 mins to be seated even though I had a reservation.

It was very chaotic, service was rushed didn’t even offer a refill for my drink.
My food took long and I just ordered a salad and a soup.
Not a good experience at all.

We were there for a lively night. They just started having a DJ on Thursday nights, you have to expect it to be a bit louder, but it was fun.

We waited 40 minutes for a sandwich, ribs, pasta, and a burger. We were told they were busy, yet there were more empty booths than filled and some people who came in after us got their drinks and food while we waited. Food came and it was warm. Portions were like kids meals. Seriously I should of taken pictures. My pasta could of fit into my hand. And the side of chicken was a tender overcooked.

My parents had just walked to the table (were still standing) when the waitress asked if we were ready to order...she was friendly, but not very attentive. My husband got his soup 20 minutes before my son and I got ours (I was just about to cancel the order when they finally came). Dirty dishes were all over our table so we finally moved them onto another empty but dirty table. Glasses sat empty for most of the 2 hours we were there...she told us she would get our check without asking if we wanted dessert (which some of the family did). The restaurant was not that busy. I was surprised as we usually have great service here.

This is a great location to meet for business lunch. But the restaurant needs a facelift. Everything looks worn and dated.

They kill the veggies. Over cooked and charcoal taste

Server was green. She was 18 years old so couldn’t answer questions about drinks Maybe she could have asked another server. Had issues with Keni because she didn’t eat certain food.
