Excellent food with very polite attendants. Recommend for those who want to enjoy real Italian cuisine.

Very good Italian food, with an usual focus on fish plates. The fish was fresh and tasty. We were there at lunchtime, it was almost empty, so even more relaxing. One tiny, silly suggestions, would be even better if the smaller, 2 people tables were oriented to allow both people at the table to look outside the window, as there is a lovely view on the canal.
Cost for 2 main courses (pasta), one starter, 2 small glasses of wine, one coffee and a liquor 74 euro at lunch time. Not super cheap, but very decent price for very good quality and ambient.

We will definitely be back. The service was very friendly and they were happy to entertain our broken Italian. The food was incredible and we really felt like we were in Italy. This place is the real deal.

Everything was fine the food was great but I didn’t fully enjoy it because of the whole eating outside regulations.

This place was fab! Lovely setting for outdoor dining if the weather is ok and the food exceeded expectations.

Lovely outdoor setting in the Covid times. Understandably got chilly towards the end of the night I would recommend wearing warm clothes & bringing a blanket. The warm welcome of the staff was lovely with attentive service without being overbearing. The food was superb I would highly recommend at visit.

My girlfriend and I were visiting Dublin and I had done some research on great places to eat. I Monelli stuck out and we were not disappointed. We were looked after really well, food was amazing and the organic Pinot was very light and refreshing.

None of the food we were served was fresh and hot. The risotto was brought to the table cold i5 minutes after we ordered.

Great restaurant by the canal, both service and food was excellent. Worth knowing that they don't have a pizza oven.

I Monelli is what you want out of a restaurant experience. High quality environment. Beautiful location looking out over the Royal Canal. A phenomenal owner who spends time with each table checking in and seeing how you've been or how you are for the first timer. I have to say it has become my partner and I's "place".

We are both highly critical of restaurants and don't offer praise easily. It's the best italian I've had outside of and possibly in Italy.

The food was excellent. Authentic Italian food with homemade pasta. Ingredients were fresh and tasty. Being from New York/New Jersey area we have excellent Italian restaurants there, but Monelli’s doesn’t disappoint.

A nice restaurant with a good menu. The food id nice, not special but overall good! Service very friendly.

This appears to be a house converted to a restaurant. Their menu was a little limited especially on the pasta with protein options. My wife had the fish special and I had the pasta with mushrooms, both were good flavour wise, but mine would have been even better with some kind of protein option. Service was good, but we had a little wait for the bill as their WiFi was acting up. Overall I would suggest a visit and have no problem going back again.

Very disappointing. Made reservation weeks in advance for second night in Dublin. Upon arrival in Dublin from US, got a message that restaurant had unilaterally cancelled our reservation with explanation or apology.

Gianni and his service people were great. My husband has a special diet and the chef prepared his to specif8catuons. If the prawns with balsamic reduction and strawberry sauce is still on the antipasti menu, order it! I’m going to try to reproduce it when we get home.

It had been a few months since we'd dined at I Monelli but it was as good as ever for an early evening Sunday dinner in May. It was nice to see that there are some new additions to the menu as well as the tried and tested dishes. I had one of the new starter dishes, cold beef tongue with a parsley and olive oil salsa. The flavours of the dish were very good but the tongue itself was a little overcooked and therefore tough. Since it is a new offering, this may be just a teething problem. My wife tried two of the new dishes, a steak tartare for starter and a risotto infused with buratta for main, both enjoyed very well. The third person in our group was happy to stick with two standards, minestrone soup followed by the pappardelle al cervo, which I chose for main course also. These were prepared to the usual high standard. We enjoyed three glasses of Franciacorta as aperitifs and drank an outstandingly delicious Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2016 'Amaranta di Ulisse' during the meal. Gianni and his crew were as engaging and as efficient as always while the ambience of I Monelli remained as authentically Italian as ever.

As this restaurant had good reviews, I had high hopes. I was impressed that the waiter who seated us quickly returned to tell us he would move us to the next table over once its current occupant had left, as it was a better table. The starters (minestrone soup; prawn + leeks) were fine, although I'm never a fan of unpeeled prawns and the strawberry cream with the prawns was just... odd. The mains, however, were the real disappointment. The risotto was basically a plate of unseasoned rice with a few prawns and slivers of radish lurking in it, and the cannelloni had either been overdone on reheat, or left under a heat lamp too long, as the sauce had a skin on it and some of the pasta was burnt. We had to ask twice for the dessert menu as the first waiter we asked didn't return. We opted to skip the desserts and ordered a Bailey's coffee and a regular americano; the americano turned up quickly, but first we were told they had no Bailey's and offered a Calypso coffee instead, and then /that/ failed to show up to the point where we had to ask again at which point it turned up almost immediately, and had clearly been sitting somewhere while we waited for it as it was lukewarm.

El restaurante buenísimo, de primero pedimos gambas con verduras y una salsa buenísima. De segundo, uno ravioli de ricotta y espinaca con pimiento picante que estaba también delicioso. De postre, tiramisú que estaba bueno pero no era como el clásico con galleta y crema si no que en vez de galleta tenía bizcocho, me hubiera gustado mas el clásico pero estaba bueno de todas formas. También había un buen aceite italiano en la mesa que acompañado de pan era un manjar. El camarero que nos atendió muy majo incluso nos llamo a un taxi al acabar. La cena incluyendo bebidas y café nos salio por 43€, me parece un precio razonable para lo bueno que estaba todo. El punto negativo es lalocalizacion está demasiado al sur de la ciudad, justo al lado del canal y esto puede ser un impedimento si no quieres salir del centro.

Delitious food and a super friendly staff. The wine menu was never ending and included a good selection of dessert wines, which I love. We really enjoyed the appertizer, meals and dessert.

Wonderful food beautifully presented & friendly knowledgeable staff, we thoroughly enjoyed our evening.
