Idle Hour

It makes me sad to see a restaurant as amazing as Idle Hour empty however I understand the pandemic's impact. That said, the tables were more than adequately spaced, ceilings were high, plenty of barriers where needed and very congnizant of safety standards. I felt very safe there and look forward to going back. Every dish we had (and drinks) were amazing - excellent preparation, flavors and presentation.

Both my boyfriend and I were sick after leaving the restaurant. We ordered many dishes - Chicken Nuggets, Meatball Sliders, Cornbread, Carrots, Brussel Sprouts. etc. Something was not right and I am afraid to eat here again.
With that said, we were excited to try the spot after seeing the chef on Beat Bobby Flay. The restaurant was lively. Staff was nice.

What a super cool place. Met a first date for dinner. We were seated by the door so it was just a bit cold (super cold night out). The music was great. A little loud for me but I don’t think anyone else minded.
The food was amazing. We had the fried pickles, a burger and the Bolognese. All were delicious. The fries with the burger were super crispy. Just the way I like ‘em.
The total bill came out to about $50 odd dollars which I thought was kind of high for dinner without drinks but all in all, I think the total evening all included was worth it.
Definitely going back.

Exceptional scratch food with a changing menu. There is something for everyone. Craft cocktails. Great beer and wine list. They have it all. You won't regret it.

Idle hour is a phenomenal local establishment. Brian is a mixologist. Their cocktails are creative, consistent, and delicious. Mat runs the house while making you feel like one of the guys (or gals) and you always want to come back. The food is crave-inducing (well done, Ashley!) and you can’t find better bar/comfort food on the South shore.

All things considered, this is a must go. If you don’t go, you are missing out.

Idle Hour is always delicious and the service is friendly and welcoming. The menu always has a nice mix of approachable classics with twists and a few fun or more adventurous options. Everything is made in house and it shows.

The food and service were amazing! Only thing was we sat outside and there were no heat lamps so it got really cold. Otherwise, it was a great experience!

Service was horribly slow for mediocre food

Everyone was really nice here! The drinks were great, but the food was not very good and it was incredibly over-priced. My burger was 21 dollars after adding a fried egg and bacon, and was maybe the worst burger I’ve had eating out. Would come back for just drinks.

My favorite bar in Quincy! Food is always inventive and delicious, staff is friendly, and drinks are excellent. They've also done a super job dealing with covid restrictions and making sure their guests have a good experience.

My second or third time here. Love the team - great energy and service. Food so good. Always something on the menu on I want.

I enjoyed Sunday brunch outside with a friend. The staff is friendly and attentive. The food and cocktails are awesome and never disappoints! Definitely a fun spot to visit in Quincy.

Love this place! The staff make you feel like a regular even if it’s your first time there! Food is all made from scratch, on-site, in a nut-free kitchen, and everything is delicious, creative, and beautifully presented. Great beer list with six rotating tap lines to fit the season and all local breweries. Cocktails are outstanding too!

I brought my partner here for his birthday dinner. It’s COVID-times so things are different but they managed to space everything out in a thoughtful way- it was lively but you had space and it meant that the noise levels were pretty moderate for a busy evening. The atmosphere is very hip without trying too hard, has a local vibe, and somewhat minimalist but smart decor. The menu isn’t huge but everything we had was delicious (one exception: my partner found the Cajun burger a little dry and its bun a bit over buttered). Soft pretzel with that mustardy sauce was heaven and the chicken wings were crispy and glazed but not too overly sweet. My orange chicken was a reimagining of the American Chinese dish with a crispy skinned glazed chicken breast and confit fried rice that I would definitely get again. Our drinks were delicious (I especially liked my “that mezcal drink” which was like a refined Smokey barely sweet margarita) and prices were super reasonable for the service and quality of food. This was a great date night spot and we will be back, maybe just on a regular night to keep trying the menu...
