Our private dining package seats 35 guests or holds a reception for 50 guests. With a view of the wine cellar, our Italian restaurant is perfect for all kinds of events.

Il Piatto is open for lunch, brunch, dinner and happy hour.

    Good food at a reasonable price. Clean and quiet atmosphere with attentive staff. But of a problem when everyone is paying on separate checks and some have government credit cards. Had to do some math and negotiating which seems unnecessary especially in DC where go travel expenses like meals are on a government card. Meatballs (2) for $5.00 upcharge were small and prepackaged. No Parmesan cheese anywhere to be found. But overall a good place I’d go to again.

    The ambiance was great. Great bottomless mimosa/ brunch deal. The presentation of the food was nice, but the appetizer and entree was luke warm at best. The mimosas were great, and the chocolate mousse was delicious. The server was okay. Seemed like he was trying to influence us into getting the same kind of mimosa. That way he could bring a pitcher vs him bringing each person a different flavor. I’m not sure I’d try again.

    The waiter was very nice, but he was seriously overworked and the restaurant was severely understaffed. It took a while between the waiter’s visits because he was essentially responsible for a large portion (if not close to all) of the customers dining. The pricing was fair, but when you factor in the service fee and tipping on top of that, it basically equals out to the same price of brunch anywhere else in the city.

    Beware a 20% surcharge is added to your bill, regardless of the size of your party. Our server said the charge doesn’t go to him, so either way it’s ridiculous. And it took over half an hour to get that ridiculous check. Will not go back.

    The food was excellent, the staff kind, efficient and very sweet, and parking was easy. The food was served quickly but not so we ever felt rushed - it was just a lovely experience.

    Incredible service, by one of our favorites from Ottoman Taverna. The food was divine and the portions were perfect. I love the flavor options for mimosas. Thank you so much for a phenomenal experience.

    The brunch deal was (almost) such a great price. Bottomless mimosas and a 3 course meal for $35. The passion fruit mimosas were amazing. Loved the risotto starter. We shared desserts around the table because they were all so flavorful. Beware: this place slaps on a 20% automatic service charge. Only 4% goes to your waiter. Wish they would be upfront about this or just build the cost into their prices. It felt a scummy.

    The restaurant often has brunch on holidays and, with out of town visitors, we thought it would be great to bring them to DC for a meal and for a quick walk to the White House. While our food was delicious, the preparation and service was poor. We had two children in our 6 person party, yet they gave us Bottomless Brunch menus (without asking). They also took a very long time to come to our table to ask for our order. It was as if they weren't ready to open the restaurant. I've enjoyed this restaurant for lunch and dinner in the past but I'm not sure I would go to the brunch

    After being a bit too cold inside, we chose a seat outside. We should have stayed inside due to being swarmed by mosquitos, but that is no fault to the restaurant. Food and drinks were great, however we were not please to see 20% service fee added to a bill of 2 people. We couldn’t get a straight answer if that was all for our server or if they split it among others at the restaurant. We left an additional tip, but our bill was over $150 for $40 restaurant week menus.

    This was me and my girlfriend first time coming here, the service was great, our waiter Halil was great, overall I rate the foods 6/10! We loved the meatball and polenta, as well as the calamari, the French toast however wasn’t all that good, very sweet and all drenched in mascarpone cheese and cream which made it soggy, so I don’t recommend that, other than that, our experience was good!👍😊

    Great food! Really loved the selection for dc restaurant week. We have the rigatoni and the chicken Parmesan. We finish the meal that a cheesecake. Having the Prosecco made it even more special. I would return again. Thank you for the great service and food!

    Everything was great except for the main course. I felt It could’ve been better. The appetizer was AMAZING! 10/10 recommend. The sauce on the poached eggs tasted like yogurt which is my only reason for 4/5 stars.

    We were there for restaurant week. Our first course was the meatballs which were excellent. Nicely cooked, generous quantity, over a bed of polenta. The house made fresh bread was delicious. Main course was salmon with a diced tomato topping. Also on a generous bed of polenta. Very tasty and flavorful. Although my wife's was a bit overcooked, mine was cooked just right. For dessert my wife had the cheesecake which she loved. Very creamy and a generous portion. I had the chocolate mousse which was good but not as much chocolate as I would have liked. Also was a rather modest size. Service was excellent and attentive. Oliver went out of his way to meet all of our requirements. We ate outside on the patio which was very nice and uncrowded.

    There was a 20% fee on the end of the check that the waiter said did not go to the waiters. This seemed like a bait and switch.

    We came for the restaurant week luncheon special and enjoyed lovely appetizer or arugula salad, espertly prepared pasta, and salmon on a bed of polenta and zucchini, garnished with asparagus and tomato coulis. Dessert was ice cream. Marvelous food! Service was friendly and attentive but unobtrusive. Handsome decor and not too noisy even with most tables filled. In a very nice area two blocks from the White House. Note, there is a mandatory 20% service charge added to the menu prices. This is not a tip for the waiters.

    Very relaxed atmosphere.. a spacious interior. As it was a Sunday evening it was not overly business, the service was excellent. Food was delicious (Chicken Marsala and the Carbonara). The wine was perfect and not expensive. Would definitely recommend it.

    There was a 20% Service Fee, which we were aware of and planned to tip well over, however (after running our cars) the Server said “ I wanted to be sir you know that the 20% service charge does not go to me, so you would need to tip to me directly”. We were taken back by this- We told the poor kids that his boss should include servers in that fee & it didn’t feel like to add a tip on after already being charged 20%

    We loved our dinner at Il Piatto! Fabulous arancini (best we’ve ever had), bread, gnocchi and lamb chops. The limoncello pans cotta was light and delicious. The service was great and so is the location (near the White House).
