   We were in Italy on a family vacation with 15 people. I researched Il Barroccio before our vacation and was excited to try it out. We booked on Open Table and when we arrived we were treated like family! We had our own private room upstairs and excellent service. Luigi was serving us the whole time and again, he treated us like family. He recommended appetizers for the table and they were delicious. Bruschetta, eggplant, meats, cheeses, flatbread and an endless bread basket was devoured. We ordered entrees to split, and lots of wine. The service and food was phenomenal.

   Staff were all very nice and welcoming. We came in for our reservation and they seated us inside by a walkway and one of them told us he’d move us to the corner so we weren’t bothered by people walking by which we appreciated. We ordered the mixed bruschetta, calamari, carbonara and the steak with balsamic vinegar sauce. I personally wasn’t a fan of the carbonara but me and my husband switched plates and we were both pleased with our meals!

   Amazing wait staff. There was a group going to a concert eating at several tables and they let them request songs and dance around the entire restaurant. Great vibes. Amazing food for great value. Kind staff.

    We had a wonderful experience at Il Barroccio. I was in charge of finding a restaurant where we (a group of 10) could celebrate a friend‘s birthday. Initially I had made reservations for 6 here on Open Table but then stopped by the restaurant to see if we could add 4 more people and make it 10. I met our waiter who quickly became the party planner named Giovanni. The evening turned out to be one of the most enjoyable and fun dining experiences we have ever had. The service was excellent;the traditional Italian food was delicious, and we all had a wonderful time. Thank you so much Giovanni and everyone else at Il Barroccio.

    We had a wonderful experience with food, friendly service and warm ambiance. Especially our server Giovanni was absolutely fantastic. Every little thing was thoughtful and artistic.     The food was generally good. Service varied between pushy and dismissive. Got rushed to order everything within a couple minutes of sitting down, but had to ask 4 times over a period 15 minutes for the bill.

    It was nice. We sat outside which is on a beautiful street but lots of peddlers and tourist constantly walking inches from you. Food was good, maybe a little overpriced, but all in all a decent night. Probably would be a different tone if I sat inside.

    we had the most lovely time at II Barroccio! we were worried we wouldn't be able to find a good restaurant for dinner due to the Easter holiday, so we went ahead and booked on opentable. we were so glad we did! The waitstaff was beyond friendly and so helpful with recommendations and service. The food was incredible and the decor unmatched . Totally recommend!

    My wife and I booked Il Barroccio restaurant online before arriving in Rome, based on some good reviews. We were a little concerned that being so central and close to the Pantheon it may be a tourist trap - how wrong could we have been - what a gem of a restaurant! We were looked after by Giovanni who explained that the restaurant was owned by his family for a number of generations. He couldn’t do more for us, bringing a glass of Prosecco over on arrival and attentively looking after us all evening. What a great funny guy! The food was really tasty and wine selection good. Again Giovanni offered to make anything that wasn’t on the menu if we didn’t see something we liked, but that was not necessary, there was plenty of great dishes to choose from. After Tiramisu, coffee and a selection of Italian digestives, we were pleasantly surprised by the bill which was really reasonable and he hadn’t charged for the coffee or digestives! Highly recommended restaurant for anyone staying in Rome and we will go again if ever back in Rome. Thank you to Giovanni and the team at Il Barroccio for a wonderful evening!

    Excellent food and atmosphere! The Mediterranean dinner for two won’t disappoint or leave you hungry. Try the croquettes plate, my teenagers couldn’t get enough of this…we ended up ordering a second round. Lamb cutlets with potatoes and the lobster spaghetti were great, my teenagers had both dishes and left nothing. Overall great service and atmosphere for a last dinner in Rome before heading back to the US. Highly recommended.

    How can you take a booking for a restaurant which has closed down?? Unbelievable how poor that is. Luckily we found another restaurant nearby which was able to accommodate us but really not good enough Open Table!!

    Service is very good, food was also good, I had shrimp and Calarmari and my wife had grilled Chicken. Veg and Roasted potatoes were excellent. We sat outside, was a little cold but the heater helped. Overall a pleasant dining experience and given the location it is by no means a tourist trap. If eating later booking is advisable.

    We were visiting Rome and looking for great places to eat. Came across this place and it had great reviews. I will admit I was a bit nervous since it was in a touristy area. But rest assured, I was wrong. Just wow! I had the Margherita pizza and my husband had the caccio e pepe. Both were insanely delicious. We were greeted warmly with a small glass of prosecco and finished with a limoncello, both complimentary. We made friends with the table next to us and the guy’s wife is Italian. He took the first bite of his food and he literally said “ohmygod”. It was THAT good. This was their second night at that restaurant. So if you come across this restaurant, book it! Do your taste buds a favour. Your stomach and soul will thank you! Grazie for such a delicious meal!!
