Iron Hill Brewery - Lancaster
We are part of their frequent diner program (king of the Hill). Service was slow and not friendly. I waited around ten minutes to even see our waitress to order a second beer. I asked for horseradish and was told they don’t have any. I know better because I get it there all the time. All in all it was a bad experience.
My ribs were good but very cold. As for my date, her meal came out nice and hot. Was very disappointed, probably won’t try this place again.
Food was excellent and the service was top notch!! We were early for our reservation but were seated quickly. Will come back again!!
The fish and chips plate had only 2 small fish pieces, which would be ok if it cost $ 10-12, not $17. It was more like an appetizer, not a meal. The menu also changed to much less choices than before, became kind of boring.
Birthday dinner for my wife!
Our appetizers, cheesesteak egg rolls and calamari were a perfect start for us. The lobster flat bread, burger and fish and chips were great! The mussels were a hit! No fishy flavor and the sauce was especially good. I personally had the salmon special cooked medium- it was fantastic with the grilled Brussel sprouts on risotto. The entire meal was very good! Topped off with a nice flight of fruit beers by one, a glass of Chardonnay by another and my favorite O’Sullivans stoudt. Thank you very much for an enjoyable evening in the madness of the corona virus. Jacki was special too. A great server. Let her know she is appreciated. Brad.
We wish you did not change the menu. The burgers on pretzel bun just are not the same as before. The nachos were mediocre.
AMAZING place to dine. The food is fantastic and the service... if you ask for COLLEEN!!!!... is perfect. She has wonderful suggestions, a bright personality and will bring a smile to your face, along with delicious food. It’s our favorite place to enjoy some time together. LOVE IT THERE!
Our server left something to be desired: not particularly friendly, not nasty, just not real friendly and it was hard to get her to stop by our table as she got busier even though (or maybe because) there were 7 of us. Otherwise the food, beer and experience were good.
Great food! The Kennett Square mushroom soup was amazing!
Server was not very friendly or personable.
We ate there on a very busy night. The food was outstanding. The service was a little slow. The restaurant was a little noisy. Overall, it was very good.
Our group was very chatty and the waitress was perfectly patient with us as she had to check back several times before we were ready to order. The food was amazing, including the kids menu! Very good beers and amazing wine selection. Waitress was surprisingly educated on the wines and obviously the beers too. Great overall experience, maybe a bit pricey but not unreasonable.
I enjoyed the salmon salad, cooked to my specific request. The waiter was attentive but not intrusive. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience.
Great food. Great drinks. Excellent service. Very crowded and very loud
Was a part of the Girl Scout Cookie and beer paring. Was great and a lot of fun. Had additional beer and appetizers. Both food and beer was great!
We eat at Iron Hill fairly often. The food and beverages are consistently good and what we have come to expect. Our last visit was a little disappointing because of management though. We were led to a table near the restrooms - there were many open tables near the window and we asked for one of them instead. The hostess was shockingly thrown by such a request and initially said no. We pressed and she said she'd have to go and check with the manager. We did get one of the tables and none of the others were taken during out entire dinner so it's hard to see what the issue was. A hostess came be after 5 minutes and asked if we'd like some water. She told us our server had just been given a to-top and it would be a while before he could get to us. While I appreciate the heads up, it was surprising that no change in server was made since, again, the restaurant was half-empty. We ultimately went to the bar and got our own drinks and took them to our table. Our waiter was very good when he showed up. It seems that Iron Hill is using a lot of very inexperienced staff at the front desk and it shows.
They were slammed. The food was very good. The service was average. It was VERY loud. It was difficult to hear our waitress when we asked questions about the menu. You could not hear the background music.
We visited the Iron Hill Brewery in Hershey for lunch and had a wonderful experience. So when we spent the night in Lancaster, we were excited to learn that there was an Iron Hill nearby and so we made reservations. This was our first time in that particular area so we thought the building itself was nice and the parking lot was super convenient.
Inside was a whole different story. The place had a long wait and the whole restaurant looked as if a bomb went off. There were kids screaming, food and paper all on the floors. My husband and I thought from the door about leaving but we continued on. We had a reservation but still waited 10 minutes to be seated. We sat next to the brewery room which was cool to see. If that table wasn’t near that, we’d be disappointed for it felt like a corner with the smallest table. The room was loud as well which made date night feel not romantic. Our server greeted us right away but was really anxious to take our order. He asked us if we were ready before we opened our menus. My husband ordered a mixed drink and I settled for an Arnold Palmer. We had calamari and fries for an appetizer, both were delicious. I asked the server for his recommendation for a meal and he said the schnitzel was fabulous. I couldn’t disagree more. Although my husbands crab cakes were divine, my schnitzel was flavorless, bland and super chewy. The noodles it came with were if not more bland. I was disappointed. We decided to cut the night short, skip dessert and head elsewhere.
I honestly don’t know if I’d return based on this experience. It was a terrible meal with terrible atmosphere. Avoid if you are trying to enjoy a date night.
The food was good, we had typical bar type food. Our waitress was good, but not an excellent one. She wasn't very outgoing, never mentioned any specials. Maybe just an off night for her?
Great date night spot, good food and drinks.
First time for us but we will be back!
Nice atmosphere and great food-loved the appatizers
The food was outstanding. We had the cheese steak egg rolls for an appetizer and they were the best I’ve ever eaten anywhere. We also had the Steak medallions with crab cake and the Ribeye both cooked perfectly and delicious. Definitely will be back and definitely would recommend!
Our group of 4 all had the Valentine's Day Special salmon and thought it was very good
Great value for the special price
I cannot think of enough kind things to say about Iron Hill. The food was, as usual, fantastic. Our server, Amanda, was friendly, helpful, and a real joy. She was able to guide us through the experience with real charm. The noise level was a bit high, but that did not deleteriously affect our dining. We will be going back soon.
A great restaurant for a romantic Valentine's Day dinner. Food was great and beer paired well as per suggestions by wait staff.
EXCELLENT FOOD - AND VALUE.....LITTLE LOUD FOR ME, BUT THAT'S ME - SHOULD HAVE REQUESTED A BOOTH....STILL A GREAT MEAL AND EVENING...BRANDON OUR SERVER WAS
The food and service was great. It was a little noisy but that is to be expected with that many people.
We enjoyed the Valentine’s Day special, for the entree- Ahi Tuna, shrimp flatbread appetizer and the chocolate cheesecake desert. The ahi was perfection and presented nicely. We had a very nice experience and if back in town, will consider coming back without hesitation.
Nice Valentine's day meal with good friends. Food was wonderful, very tasty and cooked perfectly. Service was great. Valentine's day special meal was a good value. Iron Hill's beer is great.
Very good! We went for Valentine’s Day. Our only complaint was the nachos (our appetizer), they were not our favorite, the cheese was fairly flavorless. But we got NY Strips & they were divine! Perfectly cooked and seasoned. The dessert was also decent. A little over priced, but we were very satisfied with the service and the experience. If money was not an issue, I’m sure we’d be back!
Everything was a good experience except for the server. Not very pleasant or social, but everyone can have a bad day. But the gentleman running around clearing tables was great, possible manager. Being aware of the industry, you as a server should never walk by a table and ignore an empty plate, whether it's your table or not.
We were in Lancaster for my Wife to get her nails done at Nail Bar in
Chelsea square on Manheim Pike for her 40th birthday, and we made
the reservation for Iron Hill for a Valentine's Day Lunch .
We go to Iron Hill once a month And its Always Exceptional- in All aspects.
We had a reservation for 6pm did not get seated till 6:20pm. Tables were all crowded together. Not a place to go for Valentine’s Day. Food was good. Parking was difficult.
I reserved for Business Meeting with important client. Food and service was terrible. Beef tenderloin was way undercooked and full of gristle. Person waiting tables was inattentive. Overall huge disappointment.
Our waiter was great, but had too many diners to be as attentive as we would have liked. The food and atmosphere were great. We really loved the menu variety.
The items came out with so much space in between that we didnt eat together and parts of each meal arrived after we were done. The food was cold and not cooked enough. One person felt sick after.
WE had a large group and just ordered a bunch of appetizers. The food was good and our server was great!
We enjoy eating here. Always great food and service.
