Good food service was great too bad COVID caused reduced attendance too a great location serving interestingly prepared food

Overall great experience, a little pricey and wish you could mix the taco choices like other places and just figure out prices to pay the difference. It would be worth it

Food is consistently good and they also offer specials. Social distancing observed for Covid.

This place has turned into my favorite place to go down the shore.

The food was phenomenal, our server was attentive, warm & welcoming, the ambiance was very comfortable and cozy, The Iron Whale is truly one of my favorite places!

My second visit. Pleasant decor although we sat outside with a spectacular view of the ocean. We are vegetarians and there were lots of options (not just salads) and we appreciate the variety. Food was tasty and good value. The Bloody Mary was perfect

Early New Years reservation for only two. Stuck us at a high top in bar with high traffic and despite repeated requests “ could not accommodate a better table with practically no one yet in the place. Not a great first impression or nice dining experiences for the cost and our first time being new to area . Food was good, but small portions. Server was good. Many other options for our business! Treated much better next door at Robinson ale house!! Will not go again.

Atmosphere was good and COVID preparedness was good with plexiglass all around. Rich our server was great. We go several times a month.

The service was aweful, the reservation was wrong. The drink was made incorrectly and when asked to replace we next saw a new drink. Didn’t get additional water after asking. Steak was good potatoes were raw. It seem like there is always something wrong when we go here... it’s like they create 50% of the meal and it’s fantastic and the other 50% the don’t care...,

I enjoy the Iron Whale, the food, drinks, and atmosphere are great.

When we first walked in, we had to wait over 5 minutes just to be greeted by someone. The prices are a bit high for their small portioned meals.

Nice place would go back in the summer to sit outside.

Since the chef changed from a few years ago we love it here! Ate here a lot this summer and enjoyed it every time!

Always a great place for lunch... waiters friendly and helpful and food. Is always good! Hopefully they will make it thru the winter and be able to enjoy inside again in the spring!

We had a wonderful time here. Service was top notch, waiter was very helpful and friendly and the food was delicious. Tables has separators so it felt very safe too! Definitely worth the trip.

We had an amazing lunch with my boyfriend & dad. The food was perfect and the Resturant was so gorgeous! Our server was a sweetheart we had a really nice time.

Really great food choices and the chef makes each meal with attention to detail visually and exceptional in taste. Service was great (we ate outside due to, you know, pandemic) and it was just as great as when we would eat inside. The Moules Frites were amazing and if you get the "sliders" (Wagyu Beef) they are easily shared with another as they are pretty big and delicious.

I've been to Iron Whale many times, it's one of my regular places. Nice bar, friendly service, and the food is generally pretty good. Their menu can be a little inconsistent, they don't always hit the mark, but the crab cakes are worth going back for. The upstairs deck has a great view of the ocean and is perfect for people watching.

Always consistent and delicious. Great drinks, great food and always friendly and helpful staff. Been here many times and it never disappoints.

Poorly run operation. Difficulty of getting hold of the waiter, No soup spoon available in the restaurant, had to use a tea spoon. After 3 attempts, I finally got a silverware set up thanks to a bus boy. The clam chowder had no taste and the linguini with clam sauce was overly salted. Overall not a good experience for me and partner.

I was told that the service was not the best, but I tried the restaurant anyway as I liked the location. We were left unattended at our table for a good 15 min before we met our waiter, who was very good at pouring us some water, and said he’d be right back to take our drink order. Another 15 minutes had passed. I nearly went to the bar to place our drink order. But I would try it again to see if the service was better, because I did like the restaurant.

We liked the restaurant for lunch and that we could sit outside on the boardwalk. If you want to sit on the ocean side (the back faces a parking lot), the hostess said to come before our reservation. We did that but our table ended up near the entrance where everyone was congregating, blocking our view sometimes and sometimes standing closer than six feet. (If we had waited until 1PM, we probably would've been sat at a better table, LOL!)We had a nice enough lunch, the crab salad was okay and my husband liked his fish and chips, but I would have to return for dinner to give a more thorough review and hopefully try some more interesting entrees. We had a nice election celebration with Moet.

We have been there a handful of times and was wonderful each time. Tonight however was subpar. The appetizers were just ok and the bread pudding was served cold. I had a great shrimp pasta dish and the drinks are always good
