Great space, rasrefully lit and dressed. You know you are in Japan. No shoes . Leave them in your locker at the door and keep your wood key. Super fresh fish. Skilled sushi chef to watch. Great staff helpful with english. Lcals are hete too. Loved this place. Close to the hotel and easy to find.
It must’ve been a busy night but several dishes were forgotten on our order. It might’ve been the lack of English speaking employees there. Overall, the food was great and we were able to dress up in geisha outfits for my friend’s bachelorette party in Tokyo! I’d still come back especially for the experience :) great ambiance and decor!
We had a wonderful night at Itamae Sushi Edo. But there’s something about it that just seem out of place.
Welcoming was a bit odd, we were left on the waiting room for a bit before being taken to the wonderful salon that was rather empty. So why wait?
Food and drinks were very good, not a Michelin kind of place, but that was not the case nor their promise. But it was a very good sushi! And prices were quite ok also.
But again, there was something sloppy about the service that made us not feel in Japan at all. Ar first we thought we had fallen in a big tourist trap, but then food was so good and for such a great price in such a beautiful atmosphere that it simply couldn’t be the case.
Well I would definitely recommend it to anyone expecting to spend a night in a great sushi place in Tokyo.
To management: don’t be afraid of foreigners. You could do better.
Outstanding presentation. Fresh sushi. Great ambiance and service.
Nice restaurant in Akasaka, close to the subway station. Staff is friendly and speaks ok english. Sushi / Tempura / sake were really good.
Took a child there for a birthday and they made it a very special occasion for the kids, the staff were lovely and friendly. Couldn't thank them enough.
Some of the worst sushi we have ever had. Service was not what we would call good. It was a failure of an evening and very expensive.
Very good service, very unique shop design.
Fun sushi experience that was not at all intimidating. Warm wait staff, good nigiri. Very welcoming to tourists -- and they encourage you to dress up and take photos.
Went here for dinner, was great. The sushi was awesome, there was an English menu. It's a little pricey but not too bad, and it's cool inside. Good for a date.
My family visited Itamae Sushi Edo for our Christmas Eve Dinner. Brian who greeted us at the door was very friendly. We took the opportunity to wear traditional kimonos provided by the restaurant as part of the experience. The older lady who helped us put on the kimonos was also very nice. Dinner was fine. The sashimi came out first but the tempura took a lot longer. When I asked the floor manager about the tempura he said in a very rude way "Be patient, tempura takes time". We had already finished our main course before the tempura finally showed up. After dinner, we asked the nice older lady to take our picture, which she happily did. We then went to take off our kimonos which the older lady and Brian helped us remove. After removing our kimonos, I went to grab the rest of our stuff and remembered that our coats were in the closet. I gave Brian, (who was in the middle of putting our kimonos away), our coat ticket. Brian placed our kimonos down and went to grab our coats. Here's where things go way wrong. The floor manager comes out and notices that the kimonos were on the side and not hung. He begins to ask why I had placed the kimonos on the side and not hung them. I tried to explain to him that it was Brian who took the kimonos from us and was in the middle of hanging them when he began to help us retrieve our coats. The floor manager then rudely told Brian to go away and become hostile towards me. My wife at the moment was putting on her shoes and apparently was not suppose to put them on while on the carpet. The floor manager then turned to my wife and said she could not put her shoes on here and moved them away. I asked the floor manager for his card. His name is Hiroshi Amemiya. He was still being extremely rude so I asked for his manager. He said it was the sushi chef ("Katsu?"). I spoke to "Katsu" who was very apologetic. If Hiroshi Amemiya is still working at this restaurant, please avoid it. He is extremely rude to all.
"It's a wonderful shop where you feel as if you are in a friend's house, it's a wonderful shop, it's an old building, but it was pretty clean and it was pretty.I would like to try another cuisine as well The potato 's potage is the best taste of the soup I've ever drank, the salad was also very fresh, the steak was juicy and tasty everyone was convinced, the wine was affordable and overall satisfied It made meals like meals. "
Radical spot, great sushi and service and vibe. Would definitely come back.
I went with my wife for our anniversary and had such a great experience! Service was fast, polite and friendly. It looks like a modern restaurant with the spirit of old Tokyo, clearly designed for visitors but I also saw some groups of locals which surprised me. Sushi was very good and the price is more than reasonable, drinks and all. Lots of people had the Volcano, which was pretty cool to see. I added a note mentioning that it was our anniversary, and what was my surprise when they brought us a dish with a collection of just made mini sushi and a Halloween pumpkin, kudos to the Chef! I will come back :)
Went here with my wife for sushi as I heard good things! Staff were friendly if at times it took awhile to get there attention! Food was beautiful and was quick coming out, would visit again
The food was very delicious and the service very friendly. English was not a problem. Very nice ambiance and high quality sushi for a very fair price. Definitely recommended.
Itamae Sushi Edo ended my Japan trip on a high note with its cozy traditional Japanese setting and awesome Instagram-worthy presentation of food! Definitely a must-go for all!
Great, intimate dining venue. Elegant and cozy with high quality food. Service is efficient. Great for a date, with booth seating allowing for privacy but still with a good view of the restaurant. Individual counter seating also available
So welcoming. All the staff were kind and helpful. Very Japanese experience (we are English). Loved every minute. The only down side was that we were a bit unsure how much to order and the staff didn't have enough English to help us. (We were also limited in our Japanese speaking)
Loved all of it. A must.
The moment you enter the restaurant, the atmosphere is felt. Great ambience of old style Japanese and the food was outstanding. I highly recommend this restaurant to any visitor to Japan as something unique and special.
Fantastic service super fun; they let us use their yukatas, during the meal Sushi was excellent and very pretty to look at.
Very exciting and amazing sushi restaurant.
