Ivy at the Shore
We had a wonderful meal at The Ivy. We had swordfish and crabcakes and they were both wonderful. Service was excellent.
Perfect birthday lunch with my family!! Highly recommended!!
The food and drinks were absolutely incredible as usual. Perfect for our afternoon girls luncheon
The ivy is a piece of history that makes you feel like you stepped back in time to the Elite Of old Hollywood
Very disappointing service and food! I always enjoyed this restaurant in the past and was very disappointed with this meal.
Dependably excellent food as always, but this was my first Sunday lunch visit, and it unfortunately could have been better. The service was somewhat slow and inattentive, and the noise level was higher than I'd like. Normally, the great service, lovely decor and good location make paying the premium on the food worth it. But without the benefits of service and ambiance, it just feels like it's not worth it. I'll definitely be back here again and again for quieter times, but I'm going to likely avoid weekend times so that I can enjoy this restaurant at its very best.
Food is excellent; however, somewhat overpriced. Noise level is very high, but it makes for a fun atmosphere. Service is just adequate.
I made a reservation and it was confirmed. When I went to check in with the host, he was immediately put off and said he had no reservation for me. I showed him the opentable verification which he didn't even glance at and said it didn't matter, he could seat me anyway. He didn't' seem to care in the least of the communication failure between the restaurant and Open Table. I was seated outside on the patio and waited for my friend who I was dining with. After about 5-10 minutes, my friend showed up, however she had already been seated inside and was waiting for me! There was no apology from the host--even though he saw me being moved to the table where my friend had been seated. All the other service people we encountered were stellar including our waitress whose name I didn't get. She was a very short blond woman. The host was a tall white guy with dark hair. I ordered grilled salmon which came totally overcooked. We shared a salad of buratta and beets which was excellent. I've been dining for years at this Ivy location. From this experience I wouldn't return and wouldn't recommend it to my friends. Too bad--it was a gem.
The food was very mediocre and for the price it was no better than 2 out of 5, I’m not going back blossoms calamari and fried chicken over fried and batter sucked
reunion with a dear friend
Good food, but very noisy. Sometimes difficult to hear the conversation
I love this place. I just had a very absent (not rude) server. The place is too expensive to justify that. I will return someday and request not to have him again.
Birthday Lunch! Waiter was excellent- Santa Monica was a little different than Beverly Hills but we had fun!
The only 5 star is the ambiance, but the food, service, value and other intangibles just aren’t worth it. The food and drinks are way too expensive.
Waited 1 hour for our table
Family Valentines dinner for 4 at 8pm. As we arrived there was a line out the door— just to check in. Once in the door - it was wall to wall people- those waiting to check in, those who had checked in but just crammed in around the hostess stand, those crammed in the tiny bar area trying frantically to get a cocktail. It was sheer chaos. We finally sat at 9- had a lovely table . This isn’t their first rodeo- but boy did someone ever get that wrong. No apologies, no complimentary champagne anymore- which would have been a nice touch since the bartenders were so busy you couldn’t get a drink while waiting.
They overbooked in the worst way. Crammed extra tables together and had a line 20 deep just to check in. It was hot, loud, way too crowded and stressful. Not a nice way to spend V
