Izakaya Midori was originally established by Chef Fumiyoshi Iwasaki, who was inspired to bring to the Gold Coast a 100% plant based Japanese dining experience. Making conscious decisions based on the impacts they may have on the environment, animals and human health. Izakaya Midori’s mission is to create and serve an original, tasty and visually pleasing vegan-friendly dining experience for all of its guests, combined with “wabi-sabi” , a very culturally significant Japanese concept.
We are rated 5 stars on Eat Safe Gold Coast. Five star rating stands for a high level of compliance with the Food Act 2006 and excellent safety management practices. Eat Safe Gold Coast is a food safety initiative for all licensed food businesses throughout the city.
It was beyond my expectations. We landed up ordering a bunch of small plates instead of mains and this way we got to try out a heap of options. When the salmon dish came out, I almost thought it was real salmon and had to glimpse over the menu to see if I was in a vegan/vegetarian restaurant. It was mind-blowing! The servers were super sweet, ensured we enjoyed the experience of dining with them and gave us a few details on certain ingredients as well. Nestled in a quiet neighbourhood, it was just the perfect spot to be in on a rainy evening. Will definitely go back many times more in the future.

Three of us had a lunch here after visiting Springbrook National Park. We were greeted well on arrival as if we mattered to them and were given great service . The order was taken efficiently, drinks arrived soon after and were cool and extremely tasty. Food arrived at a great rate and was extremely tasty and we could see the chef had put it together with great care. Its a pity we live so far away from Izakaya Midori as we would frequent it more often. 9/10!!!

Had a great Christmas lunch at Midori. Interesting vegan menu but with plenty of choices. My children enjoyed the Kids menu and the service was quick and efficient. Will definitely be back

Left immediately after finding out that even after booking, no table was reserved for us, We where then seated at a table that was basically in a walkway on a section of floor so unstable it seemed like a our glasses of water would be thrown from the table. Especially galling after fighting through 2 traffic incidents and a ton of roadworks to get there. Rude and inconsiderate of people's time.

We absolutely loved our Japanese plantbased experience at Izakaya Midori. The staff were friendly and helpful, we were able to bring our 2 very spoilt toy poodles and the ambience was relaxed and casual. The mixed deluxe sushi was full of flavour. We love the umani tastes especially the miso soup and the Mochi dessert was a puffy sweet ball filled with black sesame.
