This was our first time at J Restaurant - we will definitely be back The food was great and the service was excellent. I appreciated the many outdoor dining options - tables, tents, etc.

We went for lunch on a weekday. Food was fresh, delicious and served within a very reasonable time after ordering. Service was quick and courteous. We sat outside and loved the atmosphere. They obviously put a lot of time and effort in creating options for outdoor dining. You can’t control sirens from the street as you are in a city and near a hospital, but they didn’t prevent us from having a good time. Highly recommend this restaurant for lunch or dinner!

We were told that we would have been the only table in that room. After we sat another big party arrived. That was very disappointing.
We were left without drinks for almost an hour, and an hour and a half before the food arrived.
One of us didn’t get the food. When they brought it, fortunately they took it out of the bill.

Very understaffed. And I guess that was the reason of the poor service.

I doubt we’ll be back.

We sat in a gazebo, it was the first time we have dined out on a date since the pandemic started. We have someone at risk for COVID at home and we felt really comfortable upon arrival. The waitress was extremely knowledgeable and recommended items on the menu. My husband and I enjoyed cocktails, shared an arugula salad with shaved parmesean cheese that was excellent and really fresh. I had the wild caught sea bass special served with sautéed spinach and my husband had the scallop special. Both were excellent. They were cooked perfectly. The scallops had a nice caramelized crust finish and were really well done. They were also wild caught which we really look for when dining out and we thought the food was well priced for the quality and what you receive. I really appreciate places that serve wild caught fish and seafood. We also enjoyed, tea, cappuccino, and the chocolate mousse. The chocolate mousse was decadent and reminded me of the Morton’s chocolate mousse. The menu had a huge selection and we are already planning a trip back in a week with our son. The staff was extremely friendly. This is an excellent gem right by Hartford Hospital.

We had a wonderful dining experience. The wait staff was very attentive and friendly. Our meals were delicious...exceeded my expectations!

If you get there early enough for your reservation and request a gazebo you can grab a private heated gazebo for no extra charge with the same menu! We've done it twice now and highly recommend. Awesome gazebos from Kloter Farm and they stay pretty warm. Wear layers because the temp changes a lot inside. If you don't get the box car or a private gazebo there is also plenty of outdoor seating enclosed in a tent with opening at the top I think and lots of fire pits if you don't feel comfortable sitting inside.

Food is incredible! Truly the best cannoli I have ever had and all their apps are great! Chicken parm, chicken francais, gyro, and penne vodka are all phenomenal and come in large portions. Wine and cocktails are all good too! Service is excellent - you really can't go wrong here!

Their outside dining area is so nice and plenty of heaters to keep you warm! Excellent service as well!

We are always amazed by the specials they offer, and last night did not disappoint! Prime Rib was delicious and perfectly cooked! Our server Morgan was delightful! All this on their beautiful, heated, outdoor patio.

We came at 5pm this time, earlier than usual and still a nice crowd. Delicious meal, as always, and Sergio, our server, was and is always fantastic!

The entire set up was incredibly thought through and done so well. We have returned on a weekly basis.

It was my first time here, and the service was great. The food was outstanding as well.

Amazing food and ambiance, perfect for a romantic dinner date

Went to J’s with my date for Valentines Day. We aren’t doing indoor dining and J’s is one of the few places doing outdoor dining in midwinter. They have outdoor roofless gazebos with patio heaters and fire pits. It is reasonably comfortable. Food and service are quite good though not exceptional. She had baked stuffed shrimp and I had chicken salrimbocca. Both were good. We shared some eggplant fries before and tiramisu after, both were very good. Wine selection was decent. Very nice people and a good experience overall.

Another amazing romantic night at our favorite restaurant! Complete with ice carvings and a special Valentine's Day menu. Veal Milanse and stuffed shrimp to die for. Thank you, Jordan and staff!

The restaurant was empty. Spent 2 hours for meal. Food was so disappointing!!!! $140 later wish I picked an other establishment. Never again.

Excellent food & service. We celebrated Valentine’s dinner outside on a very cold night. They have enough heaters outside to keep everyone warm and cozy:)
