Jameson's Charhouse - Arlington Heights

Had to wait 45 minutes for a table even though we had a reservation.
Hundreds of people showed up for thanksgiving dinner.
Parking was a problem since so many people showed up for dinner.
Food was good.
Waiter, Patrick, was great.
The hostess failed to seat people from the Open Table reservations in a timely manner, favoring the reservations made by customers over the telephone. We waited an hour past our reservation time booked on Open Table.
Open Table must have been making reservations the same time Jamason’s was. We had a reservation for 6pm and never got seated until 7:00. It was unacceptable to stand wall too wall with people in the cold hallway. The dinner was not good at all. Should not have had the turkey dinner. Should have had a steak. We would never return.
The establishment overbooked to the point of being one hour to 1 1/2 hours later than your reserved time. Forget about walking in for a seat without a reservation. The hostess had 2 sheets of paper and a tablet going to try to keep track of everything but she was very disorganized nonetheless. The sad part is I think she is related to the owner so is unable to fire her and fire her is what should be done. I have been to Jameson's on Thanksgiving before and it was crowded but not to this extent. The two exits were blocked making this a very large fire hazard. Had something happened while waiting for our table, we would have been in trouble. The food, as always, was good. This is probably the only redeeming factor of this establishment because it cannot survive on its customer assistance. Please everyone who was there on Thanksgiving, complain. The owners took advantage of a money making event and could have cared less about anything else. Those poor waiters, they are the ones that got the brunt of everything. By the time you sat down to dinner, you were irritated and mad. And the owners could have cared less. Shame on you!!!
We arrived on time for our reservation..the place was crowded. It appeared that they overbooked themselves. We were told to wait in lounge area, yet there was no place to stand. We were told to move by the host a few times. I said this was ridiculous, that they didn't have a waiting area large enough. We were sat within 10 min of our reservation time.
Our server was great, and the food was good, however a little overpriced. Would we go back..yes, BUT NOT on a holiday!!!
Not for any holiday since we had reservations and waited over a hour and ordered Turkey and not allowed to order dark meat only the food was more or less thrown at you so holidays are not great at this restaurant.
Place was totally disorganized. We had to push our way through the crowd. Wall to wall people. Same thing when we tried to leave. Took 10 minutes to get to the door. No one was in charge to keep the flow of people moving. Never went through this before.
Great service and great food! Would eat here again.
This was our second Thanksgiving at Jameson’s and the total experience was excellent. Highly recommend
i wrote a bad review on google.processed turkey bad service, people blocking all isles fire hazard. stairs whe i said no stairs and table for my 96 year old mother. never again
The only thing good about this place was their creme brûlée. The wait time was ridiculous, the waitress would go to get something and never came back with it- multiple times. The food. Was gross. Way overpriced. We will never be returning.
Because of the poor layout, spent 15 minutes getting to the hostess. When I finally spoke to her, I was told it'd be 15-20 minutes (approximately 30 minutes after when I reservation was). 25 minutes later was told that it'd be another 15 minutes. Meanwhile, due to the number of others waiting and a lack of seating, all of this was spent on my feet despite being disabled. Left after waiting a total of 40 minutes without ever being seated. They should not be on Opentable or taking reservations if they can't figure out how to accommodate them all.
We had reservations on a Sat. night for 6:30pm and didn't get seated until after 7:30pm, that is unacceptable! It was so crowded, wall to wall people, the noise level was so high it was unreal. My husband complained because they were sitting people that had 7pm reservations before us.; They comp'd us dessert, big deal. Food was fantastic, service good. But wait time? Unacceptable! My 86 year old mom had to stand for over an hour with a siatic nerve that was very painful, no chairs available for her.
The owners have to come up with a way to keep food warm when sitting on the upper floor. Our soup was cold, and the entrees were just warm. Otherwise, it tasted good.
Best steak, if not restaurant, in the northwest burbs. That about says it all.
Great atmosphere and all decorated for the holidays. Our server was great!!! She didn't rush us, made sure we had hot soup on a cold day, and had a great attitude. Food was good and bountiful. Perfect lunch all the way around.
Our patty melts were perfect. The waiter was Gregory and he was excellent. He did not rush us at all.
Best garlic dressing
Live music was very good.
We were celebrating my husband's 80th birthday at his favorite restaurant. He ordered his favorite steak cooked medium rare. Just saw him open the leftovers and clearly the steak was well done and dry. He didn't want to say anything because he wasn't the host. We also bought a gift certificate. Hope this won't happen next time.
This was not our first time dining at Jameson's, but it will likely be our last for at least awhile. We made reservations but the greeter was overwhelmed and we were not able to check in until she caught up. Once we did, we learned they were quite far behind and we'd have a bit of a wait (not a huge deal).
When we were finally seated, our server passed our table 2 or 3 times saying "I'll be with you in a minute", and when she finally made our way over to us to take our drink order, we waited approx. 8 minutes for our drinks to arrive.
All four of us ordered a steak of different varieties. When our main dishes arrived, the server grabbed a napkin from the bar and wiped the plate of one of the steaks (we're not sure what she was wiping off). She then noticed that one of the plates came with a double baked potato, which was not ordered, so she used one of our steak knives to scoop the potato off the plate, then proceeded to give that knife back to us. We must have given her a strange look, so she grabbed the knife we had been using to cut the bread at the table, and handed that to us instead.
After cutting into our steaks, we noticed that 3 of the 4 were cooked "medium" (as ordered), but the one ordered "medium well" was definitely medium. It was unfortunate, but because we had waited so long for our food, we didn't send anything back.
Drink refills were few and far between, and one of us who ordered an Arnold Palmer was only receiving refills of iced tea.
When it came time for the bill, the server offered to split our bills (we did not request it, but it's always nice when they're able to do that). When she delivered the separate bills, she said "let me know how I did, I probably didn't separate them correctly" (even though we had verified our orders with her when she first offered to separate them). Sure enough, the bills weren't split correctly, but we dealt with it ourselves.
Overall, it was a poor dining experience. Too bad!
We had a 7:00 reservation but when we arrived the hostess told us that there would be a 20 minute wait. The bigger issue was her manners. She was very rude and didn't want to take the time to try and be pleasant. Then, at the bar we ordered two glasses of wine. When the bartender brought them my wife tasted hers and found that it was the wrong wine. When we notified the bartender he brought the right wine for my wife. The issue is that instead of throwing out the wrong glass of wine he set it on the bar and a few minutes later he served it to another customer. This is the first time we have ever seen anything like this happen. Lastly, we were placed at a table that was in an aisle. The servers and customers kept bumping into my wife's chair throughout the meal. We will never go back to this restaurant.
The service was great. The food was hot and plentiful. The steaks and pork chops was cooked correctly. Came with
Soup and
Salad . Very reasonably priced for a delicious hot meal. Great dining!
we usually have a great time here, I think we had a brand new server because it was bad. Food wasn't great either
Really enjoyed our dinner with friends. Our waiter was wonderful. We will be back for sure.
This location is superb with attentive service, great food, the gold standard !
Very good service. Our server was very attentive and prompt.
Not great. The steak I asked to be medium well was very pink inside. The ribs we ordered were drenched in sauce, barely seasoned and burned along the edges. Overall the flavor was good, but certainly not worth the price.
We planned a family outing to celebrate a Birthday. Table was ready upon arrival. Cocktails, appetizer and dinner entrees were outstanding, as was the service. Would highly recommend and we'll be back.
Great night
Great food and service as always!
The dinners were all delicious especially the barbeque pork chops and ribs. I do feel that a vegetable should be included.
Celebrated a special birthday with friends. Couldn’t have asked for anything more. Our server, Nikki, made this occasion very special.
Excellent service!!
It is always a pleasure dining at Jameson’s Arlington Heights. Food is excellent! Steaks are tender, tastey and cooked to perfection. Service is wonderful.
Nice atmosphere, excellent service. Food was not the best we've ever had, but solidly good. The steak and shrimp special was an especially good deal, and very well prepared. Be aware that the walleye was very nicely sautéed, but salt and pepper the only "spices" which made a mildly flavored fish nearly flavorless.
It was a “10”. Great food, Service was good, a bit slow, but still very good. The Arlington Heights location was a welcome contrast to the Jameson’s in Huntley which was simply Awful! Bad food, bad service.
Every time we make reservations we still have to wait 20 minutes.
The house Cabernet smelled and tasted musty...the Bartender should have noticed it when pouring, or the waitress before it was served.
We always have an awesome dinner at Jameson’s. So much food, with bread, soup and salad with every entree, we forget to share every time. With calamari as the appetizer, French onion soup and salad next, I am always full before the entree is even served.
Steak, shrimp, chicken, fish, burger, whatever you order, you will be happy.
