Javier's - La Jolla
You can never go wrong with Javier’s, they’re always consistent with food and service.
Very great environment for a date night. Great service, great Tequila drinks but the food was mediocre. No flavor whatsoever.
Great restaurant for all occasions! Excellent food and vibe
Excellent food ! Great customer service. I definitely will be back!!
Food was amazing and are Emily our waitress was great !
Very lively place. Don't come if you want a quiet dinner. But, for strong margaritas and tasty food, Javier's is your place! We celebrated our anniversary and were seated on in the patio area on the side. That was a blessing because it was relatively quiet. I've never spent that much for Mexican food. But, you don't go to Javier's to just eat. It's for the fun atmosphere.
My wife and I took my granddaughter and grandson for my granddaughters birthday. It was an exquisite time for us. We built great memories and enjoyed all of the great picture moments in that beautiful restaurant.
I think the music is to loud you have to talk loud
Maybe one notch down
The nice man pouring water could not understand anything he was saying
Such a shame nice man
We love this place
Great ambience! Superb food! Outstanding service!
Love it..food is amazing and the place is so relaxing
The crab enchiladas were excellent
Skip the chicken mole
The avocado dip was excellent but $26 for 2 orders was just too much.
Service was super outstanding and they made you feel very special.
Great ambience but the kitchen was backed up at lunch. Waited almost 30 min. for our meal. Attentive wait staff and that was out of their control. Food was delicious and beautifully presented…
This restaurant is exceptional. Not only are the aesthetics amazing the food is unreal. The quality of each and every dish is unparalleled.
Great vibes good food always drinks are good ! Desserts were good but wished I stuck to the churros or chocolate cake tres Leche was good not great and same with the pan elote . Dungeon crab enchiladas never disappoint
Our server was great. The pasta was watered down and had zero flavor. After sending the first one back l, I received a recooked one that was once again watered down but salt was added this time. A little dissatisfied but every restaurant has its bad days.
This is the pinnacle of great dining in San Diego.
I could eat here every day......
Great good the price worth every flovors.
Definitely coming back again. Thank you for making my bestfriends birthday memorable
My husband and I come here all the time. Our favorite dish out of the many we’ve tried is the steak picado and our favorite drink is the jalapeño margarita. Haven’t tried too many desserts, but had the churro and with ice cream recently and it was delicious as well.
Javiers never disappoints. I think people are starting to get back to work, so the service was much better then when we were last here. Food great, Rita’s tasty, service was on point! Overall a Great evening out with Friends!
beautiful setting and staff, interior deco was breath taking and the food was great.
Service was excellent and the ambiance is spectacular.
I was disappointed in my chicken quesadilla, it had zero flavor. Even the sour cream and guacamole couldn't make it taste any better. Chicken wasn't marinated or grilled with any seasoning so it was dry, plain chicken. I got that because the prices were so high. It's like $25 for two tacos and I think my quesadilla was around that much too.
My boyfriend got the garlic shrimp in a white sauce. That was very good but way overpriced for how much you got, which I think it was 4 large shrimp.
They have steaks there, but they are at high end steakhouse prices. If I'm going to spend that, I'm going to be at an actual high end steakhouse. I would hate to spend $70 on a steak and be disappointed. It may be great, I'm just not willing to take the risk at those prices.
Great place to go on a date, as the restaurant is pretty magical looking.
We came because it was recommended by so many people.
We have never been more disappointed of a place. The agua chile was the most inedible; it was pure lime juice with some seasonings, but a lot of lime juice, you couldn’t eat it I promise.
The entrees were ok, I had the shrimp per servers suggestion and my husband had an enchilada plate with a taco. It was ok, nothing great but ok.
We were so upset by the aguachile that the rest of the dinner was kinda ruined.
Also your margaritas are not your strength, which you would think it would since you advertise them and even the server praised them. I ask if they could add maybe a little more juice because all k could taste was sweet and sour, not fresh lime it was straight SWEET AND SOUR… I would of expected more for the price and the place.
I guess yeah that was our first and last. And it was our anniversary weekend so thank you ?
Worst place ever
LOVED everything about this restaurant. From the view, food and service...
First time at Javier’s at La Jolla. Beautiful, modern restaurant. Very welcoming and friendly staff and spectacular waiters. Food was over the top amazing, would recommend 10/10! We were there to celebrate my mother’s birthday and it all went well from start to end. Great place!
Food was very good, good ambience, decoration, service, but very loud with a party of 30 celebrating something with screams and laughter. But that is not Javier’Fault, our bad luck that we were next to this group. Overall good experience, will return and recommend.
As a SanDiego local, The restaurant is BEAUTIFUL the ambiance and vibe is Amazing. I think the food is not worth the price. You can get great and upscale Mexican food in so many places here in San Diego. I didn’t think the food and drinks were that good especially for the Price.
Tortillas were obviously store bought not fresh, chip were oily and flimsy. The quest fundido was basically a melted bowl of cheese that congealed and you had to cut in order to use, not a dip. The Ceviche was delicious as well as the Churros. Everything else was blah. Service was fine. Quite a few time staff would come and ask it they could remove a plate as we were actively eating and when we said no the response was “well we have your next course” ok that’s fine but I’m still eating this one. It was weird.
If I ever go again it would be to sit at the bar for a drink.
Excellent food and service as always!! Best Carnitas and shrimp rajas in SoCal!
Very cool space (a little chilly though!) and the food was way better than expected … the seafood truly is amazing.
Muy buen servicio. Nos gusto la música mexicana en el Restsurant. La comida deliciosa. 😁
The ambiance is worth going… food is ok.
Great food and great service! A must visit spot to hit up!
The waiters were really rude and ignored us most of the night when we asked for things. We specifically asked the wait if they can bring the child’s food out first and he said yes but then it was brought out last. The noise level was extremely loud due to the sound echoing from the walls. Overall I was not impressed and honestly highly disappointed.
Great food and atmosphere. Would recommend trying this place out.
We love Javiers and dine here at least twice per month. Always great food, good drinks, lovely atmosphere, and usually outstanding service. However, this time host service was subpar to say the least. The hostess did not honor the reservation for the dining room table and attempted to seat us in the bar area, which should not be happening with dinner reservations. We ended up getting the table eventually but having to make a fuss was not a pleasant start of the evening.
Great food but make sure not to over order. there takeout packaging is terrible and if you have to take home your left overs, you might end up like me, with aguachiles, steak, and Chile relent all over your car.
Poor customer service right from the very beginning. Ended up walking out before ordering and going elsewhere.
The place is beautiful and service was excellent; but how can anyone justify charging $40 for tacos or enchiladas is beyond me.
Steakhouse prices for taco shop food (including quality) doesn't make any sense.
Too bad, because if their prices were reasonable and a good value for the price they charge; it would be a great option.
Awesome ambience and chill vibes. Kind of noisy in some areas though. Definitely for a more mature crowd.
