Boricha Chocolate Cake
It was incredible. The seared scallop with trout roe was like we’ve ever had! And the black sesame chocolate cake too. Service was amazing, so warm and lovely. We had a great night, can’t wait to go back!
Jeong in a nutshell: The room is stunning; the service is warm the food is amazing. I’ve enjoyed Jeong many time (enthusiastically), but always find a new surprise each time I visit.
Last night’s tasting was a great reminder of new surprises. As a reminder, at the moment Jeong has no a la carte menu, so you put yourself in the hands of Chef Dave Park and enjoy the ride. This is definitely a good thing — cause Chef Dave knows how to drive!
* Mul Hwe (spicy fish soup) with kanpachi gazpacho and Korean melon is a stunning start — bright and refreshing and tartness from the melon. Don’t let the “spicy” scare you — it’s just the right amount of warmth
* Salmon tartare — one of the most talked about and loved dishes in Chicago…for good reason. Just the right amount of lush + crunch + tart
* Scallop with clementine beurre blanc, spinach namul and roe. Without question the best scallop sear I’ve found in my life
* Mandu dumpling — this is where the spice engine gets revved up. It’s fantastic. I could eat 50.
* Wagyu and omelet — the most amazing steak & eggs. An elevated classic
*. Pear, Korean yogurt, lemon — a new “surprise” as Chef Dave evolves the menu. Delicious.
* Barley / Chocolate — another new dessert. Chef is known for his savory creations, but he’s a dessert phenom too.
Jeong was an exceptional dining experience. The service was friendly, helpful, and just extra mile in working with us. The food was exceptional - all seven courses were balanced in flavors and textures. The environment is lovely and relaxing.
I highly recommend Jeong. I can't say enough good about the staff and their service. The exceptional food, wine, and environment were elevated by their knowledge and warmth.
The food is absolutely fantastic. Best Salmon tartare I’ve ever had. The Waygu steak with caramelized onion and shiitake mushroom purée lit up my mouth like the 4th of July. It’s expensive, but worth every penny. Go.
Awesome! Awesome! Awesome!
So lovely. The food, the presentation, the service!! Absolutely recommend
One of the absolute best restaurants around. It’s so rare to find a place that does fine dining with an authentic Asian influence and does it so well.
This restaurant is exceptional. All the dishes were beautifully prepared and delicious
The food was innovative and fresh take on Korean flavors. We really enjoyed our dinner experience !
Clear Korean flavors with an elevated twist wrapped in an unstuffy, fine dining experience. I would highly recommend.
Aloha, “Yobs” from Hawaii visiting Chicago for first time. Had to try the 2 high-end restaurants and got a few more in our week here. Jeong had great Yelp reviews and we we’re happy we went. Nice wine pairing with dishes. Mahalo
We celebrated my brother's bday at Jeong and it was such a wonderful experience! All the staffs were so welcoming and pleasant. The food was outstanding. The ambiance was very enjoyable- dimmed, spaced out enough that you don't over hear the neighbors next to you, and love the decors. The only thing that was unexpected was that the menu on OpenTable is differ from when we arrived (I always check due to allergies) but they double confirmed about allergies and because the menu was different, I really enjoyed the surprise! They even celebrated MY bday also which is at the end of the month and gave me a delicious gift to take home (along with my bro, of course)! Not only is Jeong decadent, but everyone there is so passionate about their customers and in what they do. We highly recommend and will be returning soon! :)
FANTASTIC,, The owners are sweet, kind and truly care about the quality of food
being presented to the clients. This is a romantic, cozy atmosphere to celebrate any 'special occasion. Servers are amazing and you will never be disappointed.
LOVE, LOVE, this restaurant.......
Jeong isn’t just a restaurant, it’s an experience! The evening begun with a bubbly warm greeting from the hostess. The restaurant is very small, about 8 tables so the atmosphere is very intimate. The menu is a pre fixed tasting which makes it so simple and uncomplicated. Each course was brought out and described to us in detail. The food was beautiful and so interesting and delicious! It’s the best meal and experience I’ve ever had. Don’t miss Jeong!!!
Truly wonderful experience. The food was incredible, stimulating to sight, smell and of course taste!! The chef is so talented!!The dining room is elegant and gorgeous . The ambiance is so warm and so inviting and we were having so much fun that time passed so quickly. Jennifer made us feel so welcome!!! Fantastic dining experience.
Honestly a great experience. Would have loved it if they had a full menu but with the times we are in it’s understandable. I’ll come back when the full menu returns.
Outstanding on every front. Will be back as soon as possible!
The tasting menu was delicious; creative, interesting flavors! Of the 6 dishes, 5 blew us out of the water, and the 6th was still very good (it just fell a little short of the others). The wine pairings were very much enjoyed. The staff was friendly and attentive without being at the table too often. It was a wonderful dinner. Thank you!
Amazing experience! We did the 7-course tasting menu, and I would highly recommend it. Every course was beautifully presented, perfectly cooked, and so delicious! Highlights were the seared scallops, mandu with kimchi and pork, and the omija dessert. The service was wonderful and the space is really beautiful. One of the best fine dining restaurants in Chicago.
Birthday dinner, tasting menu w/ wine pairing....outstanding. Highlights: pork dumpling, Salmon Tatar, American wagyu, seared scallop. Loved the vibe of the small intimate space. Music was a little loud. Tough to hear description of food/wine with music and servers wearing masks due to COVID restrictions. I'm nitpicking....excellent dinner. Well done, highly recommended.
Outstanding, top notch service alongside fantatic food with diverse textures and exotic flavors.
Amazing experience. Amazing value
For the most part, we enjoyed the dining experience, but the beef course was disappointing. The Wagyu beef was lacking flavor and was very very tough.
The care and precision that this restaurant takes is evident. You feel welcomed as if you were in their home. The food is 5 star delicious. The cocktails and wine were excellent. So happy I got the chance to dine here. I've been really into Korean food, but had not experience Modern Korean, but now the bar has been set!
Beautiful food Wine pairing was excellent - really changed both the food and wine for the best when having them at the same time!
Don’t go starving though. The portions, which are meant to be small for each dish, could be just a tad bigger to not leave a little hungry.
Amazing, worth it, but as many tasting menus go, you could still be hungry after.
The best food experience, from seating to the last bite, that I've ever had. Each course of the tasting menu was superb with a clear attention to detail, cohesion, and beauty among all the courses. In addition to a stellar meal, Jeong took great care to make my partner's birthday special which exceeded our expectations.
The only thing we didn't try was the wine pairing, which I now regret seeing how they perfected everything else.
Highly suggest Jeong as a destination for an otherworldly taste and fine dining experience.
Exceptional delicious food, great presentation
Staff is super friendly and well trained
Quiet environment, very cozy atmosphere
Amazing place! Definitely will come back
Beautiful, simple, attentive
Absolutely delicious food and wonderful wait staff. Worth the price!
The food and drinks were all amazing. The ambiance was also great, and the distancing was appreciated. Everything was awesome!
A hidden gem! Ambiance, staff, and food were amazing! Came here for a friend's birthday and the restaurant made sure to make it a memorable experience.
An overall wonderful experience. Delicious meal, attentive service, and great cocktails. We did not try the wine pairing, but our drinks complemented the meal as well. If you've never experienced a tasting menu befofe, this is a great start. We felt satisfied and it was a manageable number of courses. For what it is worth the, the decor was lovely too.
Certainly one if the top five restaurants in Chicago.
Top notch service, inventive food, great wine pairings
The tasting menu was nice. It would be better if they have a la carte menu.
Fabulous as usual. Can’t wait to return!
Very intimate dining environment. Most dishes were exceptional and the rest were great but forgettable compared to the others. Cocktails were small.
400 dollars for tasting menu and 2 cocktails each.
Would eat there again
One of the best meals I’ve ever had. Very fun presentation, but I usually hate when presentation gets in the way of texture/flavor, but everything here was immensely flavorful. Drinks reasonably priced. Would absolutely recommend to a friend. Only minuscule area for improvement was I thought the music was actually a little too quiet, leading to feeling like conversations weren’t really quite private across tables, but this is really about as picky as you can get.
It was a lovely evening at Jeong. The interior and ambiance was so nice, and the presentation was lovely as well. The food was good but nothing outstanding in my mind. Nice to enjoy and try with a friend but more of a date night or one time spot. I did the wine pairing as well but don’t justify nearly $60 for that by any means.
