Garlic, roasted tomatoes, basil, grana padano
Spring succotash, shaved radish-herb salad, green onion vinaigrette
Bavette Steak Tagliata
Fingerling potatoes, crimini mushrooms, kale, salsa verde
I had spaghetti and meatballs. They make their own pasta. I found it to be very doughy and heavy.
We had the best time - just moved to the area and the food was AMAZING. Best I’ve had in Greenville yet. Also a wonderful Bloody Mary. Service was incredible.
Imaginative food, fresh pasta, great atmosphere!
Went for lunch on a Sunday. Menu is fairly small but there was something for everyone in our group. Specials were also really good.
Outdoor dining was fantastic. Great service and great food.
Amazing Italian cuisine. Loved the open door atmosphere with a view of the charming street below. Food was exquisite. Perfect service. 3rd time visiting from DE. Can’t wait to go back!
So much fun sitting outside and enjoying the weather.
Of all the establishments that I have dined at from north to south and east to west this has been the worst experience that I have experienced. To start, which bothers me the most, is that I made reservations for outdoor dining. As soon as we arrived the first words out of the hostess was , “we have no outdoor dinning”. I said we made reservations for that and she said we have no record of it. So I showed her the open table confirmation email and she just look at me like it did not matter. So either open table does not work as advertised or she is just not telling the truth. I saw many people head out to outdoor dining that evening. I assume that the manager just tells the hostesses to not tell the truth when they feel like it. So who ever hired the management of this establishment must not have a clue what it takes to be successful or just have no integrity. For the meal that was another fiasco. Most of our order did not make it out with the other entrees. Not the waitress’s fault but the kitchen. Again just poor management So, there are so many great places in Greenville, you should pick up on the roof as your last resort.
The food and service at Jianna were outstanding...will definitely return! Next time, however, I would request table up front - didn’t enjoy seating in back near restrooms.
You go to Jianna for the food and service, not the setting. The restaurant has a subdued modern look that's not dazzling, bright or colorful but rather plain -- which allows you to be awed by the food and to enjoy your rapport with the wait and service staff. We ordered five food items, each perfectly prepared, nicely presented, and wonderfully flavored. Most impressive was the wagyu beef carpaccio (appetizer), duck confit ragu fusili (main course), and semifreddo (dessert). Also of note was a superb dirty martini (house liquors) with floating ice crystals and feta-stuffed olives. Our waitress was informative and helpful at every turn of our meal, and a pleasure to talk with about the restaurant and Greenville's downtown. Service staff presented each dish on time and in temperature (hot/cold). Reservations come with an ample two-hour window; we used a leisurely 90 minutes.
We’ve been to Italy 4 times...Jianna is as good as the best we had there!
Wonderful pastas and sauces, outstanding ciabatta.
Outdoor seating on a second floor patio. We were able to enjoy the beautiful view of Greenville as well as our meal. Food was well prepared and delicious!
Our only criticism during this time of the pandemic is that the waitress and bus boy staff should be more cognizant of where they put their hands - such as delivering drinks with their fingers inside the glass.
Overall experience was wonderful. Service was outstanding with our server giving wonderful recommendations on the menu. Will definitely be back!
Beautiful day for eating outside on the balcony, even had great music from the park across the street. Service was excellent, our server went above by going next door to obtain Ranch dressing for my wife.
It's all good !
Loved everything about it!
We loved Tina, she was great and not the reason we gave 3 stars for service. When we walked in to check in our reservation, there were two servers at the big table and the one closest to the decorative wall asked the other server “Who makes a 9:00 reservation to eat?” That was off putting and wasn’t very welcoming, that server would never survive working in hospitality in NYC, haha. During the meal, we’re assuming a manager, came over to tell us “our oyster shucking employee left 30 minutes ago so it’s taking me a little longer to get them ready.” Honestly, he should have just said “a different employee is shucking your oysters tonight, sorry for the delay!” Telling us their oyster guy left already for the night also implied how late we were there, possibly an inconvenience for him and wasn’t necessary. I had to use the restroom at the end of our meal and when I came back I told my husband we may be the last ones there. He mentioned he wanted to leave since he was hearing more grumblings about us being there. I went to find our server so we could get our to go boxes, pay and leave. We just felt rushed towards the end. If 9:00 is collectively too late for all the employees at the restaurant to take a reso, you shouldn’t have reservations available for that time. Or maybe staffing just needs more hospitality training. We found it ironic that we were hearing these complaints since restaurants have limited capacity - servers should be grateful for anyone walking through the door at any time. My husband was laid off from his restaurant and was out of work. My husband and I have been in hospitality for over 15 years in both FOH & BOH, we never would have rushed out guests, especially given the current environment with restaurants and COVID. We thought the food was really great. We know we were there late - but you were open. We understand, coming from the same industry, but there’s a time and place to make these comments and that’s at the back line away from guests.
Always a great experience! One of our favorite places to dine!
Excellent service and food. Great place for an anniversary.
I would say one of THE BEST restaurants in downtown Greenville!
Brennan was excellent and food was outstanding.
Jianna is my go to ... always a warm environment. Food is phenomenal. Drink menu is amazing.
This was a brunch reservation. We sat on the deck, nice views. Tables were seated a little too close for our personal comfort. Salad portions were very large, probably too large. All in all, very nice.
Always have a great meal and time at Jianna’s. Our waitress Sarah was awesome.
Oysters were great. We tried both kinds (East & West). We each enjoyed a salad (beet & pear) - also delicious. The entrees were both outstanding, as well. Best pasta in town in the spaghetti. Finally dessert was regatto-gelato. - not to be missed even though it was not on the menu.
We were disappointed with the chicken Marsala this time. It is usually very good. This time, the chicken was way over cooked and extremely dry. In addition, the chicken had been very heavily salted. The rest of the meal was very good
Thanks for making a special occasion even more so!
All of our experience was the best we could have hoped for. Food and wine were excellent. We ate outside on the balcony and so no one was near us. However, in leaving the restaurant we noticed a packed bar with no masks in sight! Didn't anybody read about the contagion ash the White House Rose Garden gathering?
The food was DELICIOUS! sorry to yell, but wow!
We st near the food prep area. There were five men in the kitchen and NONE of them had on masks. We were shocked.
Fantastic dinner with an exceptional view. The outside seating was great!
Everything about Jianna was excellent! The only drawback was the street noise (motorcycles mostly) but that’s part of sitting on the terrace, not a fault of the restaurant.
Excellent dinner and service. Quiet and cozy on the balcony with the overhead heaters. I always go for the handmade pasta and wish Jianna would offer more pasta specials on the weekend. I’m always jealous of the specials they post through the week on Facebook. I’m unable to come during the week. Keep up the awesome job- my favorite splurge night in Greenville!
Dinner was absolutely delicious. We got the octopus appetizer, and each got an entree. They were all delightful. Our server was absolutely amazing and made the experience even better! Can’t recommend this place enough.
Fantastic food, wine, and service. Pricey, but worth it.
We had a wonderful dinner at Jianna!!!! My husband and I started with 3 appetizers...all very tasty- the prosciutto, toast with ricotta, and octopus😋. My husband had the carbonara.... delicious and plentiful. Though he said he would have preferred a smaller diameter pasta. This was like a large spaghetti noodle. My butter chicken was moist and very flavorful. We definitely will be going back whenever we are in Greenville!!!!
Outstanding meal for food, service, and atmosphere. Our server Brennan was wonderful. The food was fantastic. I would especially recommend the appetizers of the grilled octopus and lamb rotolo. 5 stars all the way!
This is one of our favorite downtown restaurants. Management and staff are always friendly and sincerely care that you have a wonderful experience at Jianna. Food is always excellent. Can't go wrong at the bar (always a fun experience), inside or outside seating (great view of downtown). Enjoy!!
Was a last minute reservation and Andy was able to squeeze us in especially as we were looking for outdoor seating... service was great as always and Andy even made time to stop by and chat.
The food was fantastic especially the sea scallops. The service was wonderful and unobtrusive. The sommelier was perfect in his wine selection. Finally, the balcony patio is the finest seating!
My wife and I were married the night before. We were greeted with glasses of champagne and had a great experience. Food and service was wonderful.
