Wonderful experience in all aspects!
Had a reservation, but no one bothered to tell us they were closed until I called the hotel the day of our dinner. OpenTable even auto-verified with me that I was coming. SOMEONE should have contacted me with the fact that it was closed - OpenTable had my contact info, and JJ Astor had theirs - I was on vacation, but always had my phone. I have had good experiences with both companies, but this was disappointing.
Great view and excellent service. Perfect spot for our celebratory dinner.
We were disappointed that they only serve breakfast all day. We specifically came for lunch at noon, but they informed us dinner wouldn't be served until 5pm. We had just ate breakfast prior to arrival. One drink cost us $20 which is outrageous.
Did not care to listen to jazz the whole time we were there. Maybe mix it up a little.
The experience of a rotating restaurant was exciting. The staff was friendly, food was ok, I'd say it was a little overpriced though. I asked to be seated close to the window but got a table that was pulled away from window but we could still see out. Should have gotten a booth because they are closer to window.

Had an awesome meal, great service Tony went above and beyond having been in service for over 30 years he clearly loves his customers he makes you feel special. We will certainly be back and I must mention the view of lake Superior was delightful and relaxing !

The view at JJAstor is amazing! We had a great server. The food is very good and there are quite a few choices. The drinks were good, as well. It's a little expensive, but the atmosphere makes it worth your money.
Not to Much choices
Food can be hit or miss. Husband loved his meal mine was good except for the potatoes they were burnt. The appetizer was good but the onions were raw in the dip and should have been caramelized. Dessert was wonderful!
Absolutely loved it! Not expected prices that low. Or at least that's what my husband said. Highly recommend

Went for dinner and surprised my wife on her birthday. Luckily she was pleasantly surprised. Food, drinks and service are good but the real reason to visit is the view, or should I say the ever changing view. It may sound cheesy but it's really cool going around in a circle with ever changing views as the sun is setting and the lights of Duluth are turning on. It's super slow (took about an hour to go all the way around) but my wife kept saying she didn't want to look at the menu because she didn't want to miss anything. It was a very special evening and exceptional experience.
Subpar hotel food, nice view. We went for breakfast, maybe the dinner is better.
I have eaten here many times. The only problem this time was I was seated and then forgotten. Possibly a mix up in who was my server. When my server did arrive she was very nice and attentive from that point on.
Our server, Tony, was great. The walleye cakes were delicious. The walleye dinner and sweet chili chicken were good, not great. The facilities are “tired” in need of renovation/modernization. Overall good experience.
Wonderful restaurant and experience. Table next to us was loud and ill-mannered for such a lovely place.
Risotto was extremely salty. Our steak was well done vs med rare. Beautiful atmosphere, disappointing food.

We enjoyed our dinner our to celebrate my husbands birthday. Waitperson was most pleasant but forgetful. It generally took her two trips to get something. It didn't appear deliberate, but it was annoying.

It was a great night, the lighting and music were perfect. Our server Kyle did a wonderful job. The drinks weren’t the best and especially for the price however over all it was a good experience.
Good food good service, rotating restaurant made me a little woozy
Waitress was great, but our meals were very, very disappointing. My steak was made wrong twice. I was told a new one would come out in nineminutes, but after 30 minutes was another well done steak. Veggies were stale and plain. The manager did apologize and took the steak dinner off my bill and offered a drink, but I had enough of the mediocre mixed drinks while waiting for the steak. Salmon was mediocre. Nothing special. For a place with such high price range entrees, this was a very disappointing experience. Would I give a shot again? Maybe if McDonald's brought back the McRib.
Wonderful food and ambience. we live in Duluth and this is our go to restaurant for a romantic dinners
The hamburger I wanted well done and it was burnt I didnt even eat half of it. I would never go back there to eat.
Food was mediocre for the price. Steak was overcooked. Veggies and rice pilaf were blah and Meal was cold. I will say that The service was great though!
My husband and I dined at JJ Astor as part of a celebration of 13 years of marriage. The atmosphere and the views were spectacular. We made our reservation for 7pm and we were able to see the lake by twilight and into the night. The food was spectacular and we had an excellent evening.

The only thing I would change is the rolls you serve. They tasted like cardboard. Everything else was superb! We will return.
What a great experience we had with Tony! We celebrated our engagement and this place made it feel so special. Tony even went above and beyond and got some roses for the table before his shift. I highly recommend this place and will be going back.
All the staff were courteous and friendly. Appropriate health measures in place (masks, gloves, social distancing) and tables were well spaced. Food was excellent. The 360 views are fabulous and the overall experience well worth the cost, which is a bit more than the average for the area. Whenever we visit Duluth, we always make a point of getting reservations here as it is so enjoyable. Highly recommend this restaurant.
My fiancé and I had the nicest, most romantic evening at JJ Astor--it was the perfect ending to end our weekend getaway in Duluth! The rotating/360º views concept made our experience there that much better. The food, drinks, and desserts were absolutely delicious and incredible, and our waiter (Jeremy) was so very patient and sweet. Thank you, staff, for a beautiful evening!!
Great view of the city of Duluth with great food and some of the best service I have ever had.
