I was very dissatisfied with the food. The food was cold.
The service was well above average, with the exception of Jeri, who was there covering for another employee who was off for a birthday.
Jeri’s attention to every need made it seem like we were personal guests in her home.
This was our first post-vaccination foray to an indoor restaurant, and it was glorious! Eating in was way better than carry-out. Safety measures were excellent - JJ's is doing it right. The food was great, of course. The staff was professional as always. We chose JJ's on purpose, and it met all expectations.
So great to be back! Outside was hopping. People respectful about masks. Appreciated that!
Food great as always!
We went for our anniversary. We had seen some bad reviews recently but we experienced none of those issues. The food was great and our service was great. The ambiance was nice however I can see how it might get noisy with a few boisterous tables. We would definitely return again and would recommend this restaurant to any of our friends and family.
This was a reunion of friends from pre-COVID, and we had dinner on JJ's terrace, which is a lovely space. The food was fantastic (don't miss the paco shrimp), the service moved at our pace (which was slow...we had catching up to do), and we were distanced away from other tables and felt that we had all the privacy that we wanted to catch up. We will be back!
Richard is a wonderful waiter and ambassador for JJs. Great special dining experience!
Great food, great service. Waitress very knowledgeable. Her assistant keep water glasses filled (something many restaurants forget).
My husband and I were celebrating our 21st wedding anniversary and I wish my flowers weren’t partially dying. Also, no special Anniversary card on table or writing on desert, like some other restaurants, to make you feel special. Carrot cake wasn’t moist and my risotto was bland. Guess I expected more, but food was good, not great.
Server said I paid for my food already and then said my parents took care of our bill.. wish she was more alert and detailed with her story from the beginning.
You definitely need more diversity on your staff. The world is changing and so should your organization.
Wouldn’t go back!
Had a date with my wife and we really enjoyed our time at the restaurant. Food was amazing... would recommend serving bread with your mussels to soak up all that goodness (broth). Also sometimes people forget masks so having some on hand at the host stand would be great. Thank you so much for making our night special.
We had a wonderful time celebrating our 37th anniversary and our first time out in a restaurant in over a year. The food was outstanding and the waitress was very professional and prompt!
great service and food!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I took my manager who was in town from Portland, OR to JJ’s since it is a KC establishment and I wanted to take him to a nice dinner. I had not been to the new JJ’s but remembered how great it was. We met at 6:00pm and sat inside, exchanged pleasantries, caught up, etc. after not seeing each other for over a year because of COVID. Within the first 10 minutes of being there, we had 3 different waiters/waitresses ask if we were ready to order drinks or appetizers. We had already placed a drink order from the first waiter, so it was a little distracting being asked two more times? I ordered the pork chop that was probably 3 inches thick... looked amazing. Unfortunately very dry (somehow). My boss ordered a steak that he said wasn’t so great. Great location and views, but we ended up making an impromptu decision at 6:45 to visit Kauffman Stadium and watch the Royals.
Wonderful evening. Medallions were fabulous. Rick did a great job.
Sat on the patio. Love the outdoor area. Nice Happy hour food and their main menu is great. Great food and service.
The service was perfect and the food was amazing! We had a wonderful 18th Anniversary there.
Great setting for a quiet dinner with friends or business. Cocktails were excellent. Great wine list. The entrees were very good. The shrimp appetizer was missing the horseradish sauce. The au gratin potatoes were tasteless.
Great food and service as usual
Rick was a great server and his entree suggestion was spot on! Table was beautiful as well.
In this time of concern with proximity in a dining room, JJ's has perfected the optimum for diners to feel comfortable with the surroundings. The service is grand, and Rick is the best for the lunches on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday; and the dinners on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. It is a great experience!
Wonderful evening for our first time out to dinner since last March. We will be back!
Service was excellent, but the food was just good. For the money, I would choose something different next time.
Check-in was fast, and the service and food was great.
You would think with coronavirus and only 50% of the tables full we would get attentive excellent service....literally had to flag our waitress down. We were there for a birthday, and they knew it and never did anything special.
Ate on the patio, it was perfect for a business lunch! Service was excellent, and the food is always amazing.
I had the filet with mashed potatoes and it was delicious. Waiter was attentive and helpful. Great experience overall.
Great food and service!
My meal was very good but my two dining partners were disappointed with how bland their meals were. The chicken marsala wasn't a traditional wine based sauce but instead a very creamy, tasteless one. Disappointed in the inconsistency.
Food amazing. Disappointed in my cocktail. Was lunch so I’m sure main bartenders not working.
Great! Loved the wild boar ragu! Would order again.
Food was average at best. My chop was overdone. Could hear other peoples conversations.
First time there and it was wonderful!! Food and wine options were wonderful. Had a hard time making a decision as so much looked good. Can't wait to go back when the weather is a little nicer and enjoy the patio. Definitely a KC gem
Great experience. Superb wine selection. Delicious food. Pleasant service.
Really like this place. Food is fantastic. French Burgundies were 30% off. Chicken marseille and rack of lamb are recommended.
What a great place! It felt like the neighborhood gem - but just as easily could be the special date night! Love the change of atmosphere from bar side to tablecloth!!!
Noise level seemed to be excessively high and there is no evidence of social distancing. Disappointed in that. Waiters did have masks, but the place was crowded with people without masks (restaurant did ask that people wear masks when entering and moving around). Just thought the tables would be farther apart
We had a delicious meal and wonderful night out at JJs!
The dinner and service were exceptional. However, there were just WAY too many people in the restaurant. It appeared that no social distancing protocols were being observed. We love JJs, but won't be back until we can do so safely.
Great dinner to celebrate Valentine’s Day after the event. Great appetizers and entrees, but especially loved the Pear and Stilton salad. One of our favorite places for a romantic dinner.
Lovely night out! Great service and ambiance. Food was delicious. Portions were good except for dessert, which was pretty small.
