   This was not the experience we were hoping for our daughter’s 16th bday. A solid restaurant but had a miss last evening.

   I visited Joey Rideau last night for my anniversary dinner and it didn't disappoint! Despite being so crowded, servers were thoughtful and engaging. The food was marvelous - a great mix of flavour combinations and I also appreciated the kitchen serving shared dishes in two separate plates- while maintaining presentation. The cocktails we tried were also really good with a unique blend of flavour profiles. Dim lights and contemporary music uplifted the ambience, while the acoustics ensured noise decibels didn't reach a disturbing level, despite the restaurant being at full capacity. Definitely worth a second visit!

   Let me preface this by the fact that I worked in The service industry for 15 plus years. Everything was great, it’s just their hostess, she called herself a team leader, well she just added drama where there really didn’t need to be any. We got there on time for Mother’s Day dinner but for some reason with 9 tables open and full wait staff setting the tables. We were asked to sit and wait. She the proceeded to sit three tables before us?! This left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth as we waited 15 minutes to be seated and people that arrived after us were seated before us. Food was excellent as always and our waitress was equally great! Just an overzealous hostess!

   Tip levels should start at 15%, not 18%. I don’t think there is an option to customize either but not sure. Food prep inconsistent. The burger and fries were great, the Mes bowl as not. ( overly spiced and rice was clumpy). service was very average.

   everything was good, my only complaint would be that we thought there was a brunch option for Mother's Day and there was not. we went fairly early {11:30} and weren't really wanting lunch. Other than that the food was good and the service was excellent
