Food was great. Service not so great. Ordered a drink & appetizer then server was MIA. When she finally came to check on us we told her we wanted to order dinner but she never came back. She got our check, took our card, then brought it back, dropped it on the table and walked away. So disappointed. First time we ever didn't leave a tip.
Service wasn’t good
The food was excellent and the service was great. My first visit and I will be back.
We came to see Talya on New Year
It took FORTY MINUTES to get our good! They weren't really that busy.
Only 2 servers!
It was very cold in the restaurant. Wait time for food was 45 minutes, only to then get cold food. The prices are way too high for the small amount of food you get, especially when that food is cold, meat very dry, and almost stale. It was very cold in there as well. The waitress was very nice, though.
The ambiance of the venue is great, but the food was awful, the prices on drinks were way too high, however the service was great. We went at Christmas time and we were hoping for some Christmas jazz, but we were super disappointed. Bad singer, bad musicians, but I am sure that their musicians rotate and if we were to ever go again, which is unlikely, they will hopefully have a different musician set.
Great place for wonderful music, food, and friendly environment.
Great night out. Loved the band. We will be back the next time they play. Didn't care for the limited menu but I get it. Service was good too. Thanks for the date night Johnnies.
A must see. My wife and I make this one of our routine stops.
As always, great ambiance. The music great!!
The food was better than usual. Street tacos were ok. I had the pimento grilled cheese with tomato bisque and it was amazing! Johnie’s makes the best Old Fashioned and Whiskey Sour ever! We go to Johnnies for the live jazz and drinks but the food this time was even better.
The menu looks great but that’s as far as we got. I chose this place for my husband and I to celebrate our anniversary. I selected standard seating on the reservation as high top tables aggravate his back. We ended up being seated at a high top and the menu provided was severely pared down. Nothing we wanted to try was available. I understand COVID has affected many restaurants’ menus but this should have been noted on the website. We instead ordered a selection of appetizers to share. The charcuterie board was good; the onions rings were okay though a bit mushy. The steak in the street tacos had an odd texture and the crab cakes were mushy. His cider and my cocktail were decent though my drink was high priced. Overall this was not a good evening though I would give this place another chance once the full menu is offered and we could be seated at a standard table.
We had our 20th anniversary celebration and had a great time. A country duo was playing the night we were there. They were excellent. Our server was funny and attentive and spot on. The food was good. It was more about the atmosphere though. Thank you for making it a great celebration Johnie’s.
Taco Tuesday and Trivia Night are a must! So fun!!
We went on Taco Tuesday with trivia. The dollar tacos are great and since they are only a dollar we could spend more on some of their delicious custom cocktails. The trivia was fun and the guys running it where entertaining and energetic.
My 3 year old daughter and I dined in and caught a movie after. The staff was amazing as was the food. They have a great kids menu! They staff acknowledged out movie time and updated us on all of our Backstage Pass rewards. The food came out super fast too.
Delicious food and great service. I had the filet and Brian had the strip. Really good.
Great food, live music, and a terrific atmosphere.
Nachos were GREAT...service was EXCELLENT. Had hair in my dessert😡
Chicken was good. Potatoes were cold. Beans were limp. Funnel fries were greasy.
The Happy Hour outside is a must during nice weather. The entertainment was outstanding! This turned out to be a great place for my first date.
Don't know if they were having a bad night but the food was way over done. I would give them another try just to see if better next time.
For some reason the wait staff is always extra slow if we sit in front of the stage. Been there several times. Often takes 15 minutes to get a drink menu, then the staff disappear for another 15 minutes or more. Seems Impossible to Order for more than one person at a time before they run off again. Doesn’t seem to matter who is working.
Great jazz band "A la Mode". Good food. Yummy drinks. Server had a few issues but he looked young or perhaps new. Definitely going back. Always a good time. Recommend reservation.
ordered tacos and chips and salsa. Did not get chips before tacos wanted them as an appetizer. server spilled some chips on floor beside me. was not given any more and they were left there while having dinner. took 10 minutes to get second glass of wine and the lady that was refilling water had to get my husband another beer because our server was not coming back to check on us. was not asked how our dinner was nor asked if we wanted dessert. pretty much given our check and that was it. this was my first time at your establishment and I live in Liberty so I figured if it was good it would be a go to place. I would like to try other items on the menu. the food was good. but my first impression on service was not good at all. I would recommend a friend for the food.
We celebrated my mom's birthday and it was so much fun! The entertainment was great, with Lori Tucker singing! The atmosphere was perfect! The service was great! Everything went perfectly!
And Jacob the manager was very nice and helpful- thank you Jacob!!
Great music, food, drinks - everything about Johnnie's is a first class experience at an affordable price.
We really wanted to support local but this experience was awful. There’s a happy hour menu online but they are no longer offering it. What we received was not what we ordered for our entrees and by the time the correct food was brought to the table, half our party was done eating. The prices weren’t comparative to the quality of the food.
We had family in town who wanted to listen to live music, so we thought of Johnnie’s. It’s been a little over a year since the last time we were there, and the menu had changed. I was looking forward to a pasta dish I’d had there before, and it was gone. I opted for mad & cheese with shrimp (over $20!). It cake with five shrimp, and maybe a cup of pasta. So, not a good value at all. My dad and my husband both ordered surf and turf, and their steaks were not seasoned, and improperly prepared. My mother’s food was unseasoned, and she asked for some butter, salt, & pepper for her steamed broccoli. It never game.
Our bill was about $200 before tip, and I would value the meal for all four of us at no more than $100 ($25/each). We will not be back. Horrible.
Glad to be back! Love the new summer menu. Ready to make another reservation
Food was well prepared and delicious, with good presentation.
Overall, a positive experience! The food was pretty good. I thought the street tacos could use more seasoning/ flavor, but my husband enjoyed his burger and we both liked the fried green tomatoes. We got there at the beginning of dinner and it was very quiet. As we were leaving, there was a live band warming up, but I didn’t find it overly loud. Our waitress was great and attentive. The only other negative thing I might add is that the prices of the entrees seemed a little steep.
Dining experience made more excellent by the entertainment provided by Max and Kathleen. Service was professionally rendered with so much warmth and friendliness.
The food was amazing and this time the service was on-point. So they have definitely improved in that area. We saw the Grand Marquis band and they were by far the best we have seen so far here. We will definitely be back and we will be back in March to see this band again!
We went for Valentines Day. Upon arrival the hostess was very grumpy. I told her we had asked for a table close or within full sight of the band. She rolled her eyes without saying a word led us to the farthest table away from the band. I asked her if we could have one of the many tables that were closer since we couldn’t see much from here. She said those tables are reserved. I told her that I understand and we also had a reservation. But since we were here first we’d like to have a table with a better view. She simply said no and looked at us as if she was hoping we would just leave. Grumpy is an understatement. We took our seats and she stomped away. Our server Erin was delightful. She checked on us often even when it got very crowded. Charcuterie plate was delicious and different from most. We ordered the prime rib special, one medium and one medium rare. The medium rare was actually medium and the medium was actually very well done. But we didn’t complain. However, they were very hard and dry. In fact, it even felt heavier than it should on the fork. I’ve never had such terrible prime rib. I ate about four bites and left the rest. It was hurting my jaws to chew it and wasn’t worth the effort. It had no flavor at all, even with the AU jus. I told Erin about it. She said she would see if she could get it discounted but then never said another word about it. It was a great price for this special already and a discount wasn’t going to make it more edible. The mashed potatoes, green beans and heart-shaped brownie were delicious, as were the specialty cocktails.
As it turns out, the two closest tables to the band didn’t fill up til shortly before we left. The band was great even though I could only see one of them. But the volume was too low to hear them well.
Overall, great place. But don’t order the prime rib. The hostess with long blonde hair and glasses needs some lessons about the service industry for sure.
The prime rib was flavorful and tender
I enjoyed the food & service.......not so much the entertainment.
Nice place to go eat for a quality meal. If you don't enjoy music while eating, then I wouldn't recommend, but I enjoyed the music.
My wife and I went on Valentine’s Day. It was a restaurant we had not tried and we knew they had some live music. The music saved the date overall and was really good. Our service was very poor and the food was average. After being seated, it took another 5-10 minutes for the waitress to come and take our drink order. We knew from that point on anything we needed had to be asked when she came back. Our meal came out quicker than we had thought, but it was bland. I had the meatloaf and my wife had the salmon. The meatloaf was closer to a hamburger than actual meatloaf. I asked for salt and pepper and ketchup and after 10 minutes got salt and pepper. I waited for ketchup only to have to ask again and by the time I got it my food was cold. We will not be going back to eat dinner. Luckily we were not in a hurry and enjoyed the music. If you’re trying to go fast eat somewhere else.
