Arrived at the restaurant to find it had shutdown!
ITS CLOSED ITS CLOSED ITS CLOSED ITS CLOSED ITS CLOSED
It was quiet when we visited, but I have no idea why.
Warm welcome, tempting menu, friendly and efficient service and brilliant food.
good quality food,lovely staff.will definitely be back👍🏼
I went with a friend looking for something different and a quiet table ... We got all. It was great food really nice place and the staff were super.
My only complaint was it was cold in the restaurant, but they gave you a cosy wrap to wear!
I will go again.
The place was alarmingly quiet for a Friday. Service friendly and charming if a little too relaxed; not that it was a problem but I wondered how they might cope if that had been busier. This is all an aside as frankly this was some of the best Italian food we’ve eaten anywhere outside of Italy. That’s a bold statement but all 7 of us felt exactly the same way- and 5 of us are Italian.
Great variety of tasty bruschetta and excellent pasta.
Wanted a quiet evening to think and found this great spot.
Fantastic crab pasta and swordfish, highly recommended.
Great food and service, and got 25% off through opentable, removed from the bill without asking.
So pleased to have found this adorable spot in Islington!
It’s a little bit off the beaten track of ‘Supper Street’ but well worth it. Everything from the food, service, lighting and general ambience is perfect. Our waiter was friendly and engaging, the food was really flavoursome and fresh, and the menu varied and interesting with their bruschetta options being served on boards.
I had a vegetarian mozzarella, pesto and cherry tomato starter followed by the crab linguini, my guests had the seafood risotto which was to die for.
Rather deceptively the menu offers much more than bruschetta so suits dinner as well as lunch.
They’ve got a lovely little garden out the back with blankets and lit with fairy lights which would make a great spot for a romantic meal.
The restaurant offers great value, I’ll definitely be back to try the desserts next time, although I’d imagine by then it’ll be a reservations affair...
Nice neighbourhood Italian with a twist. Interesting choice of bruschettas. Ideal for sharing, freshly prepared. Rosé on tap very good, Côtes du Rhone less good. Very friendly staff. Makes a good change from pizza. Would go again
A really lovely meal. Such a nice ambiance and quiet enough to hold a conversation. Really lovely hidden away outside space lit by fairy lights in the evening. Great and attentive staff. The food is lovely twists on Italian classics and has generous portions. With the 25% off deal it was brilliant value for a great evening.
Food was extremely good. The bruschetta options are great, especially the Gorgonzola, caramelised onion, walnut and celery option, and the pasta dishes are not too big. We sat in the garden, which is small but intimate and even has a couple of selfie sticks for snap-happy couples and friends. Service was brilliant, which is why we’ll be making it one of our regular spots for lunch and dinner.
Thank you to everyone at JB ! Could not have picked a better spot to watch the football. Even though it was busy we were able to get well made cocktails and the bruschetta was delicious. The heart of a place is the staff and everyone there was really lovely. Happy to have this in my street !
Great restaurant with very friendly staff and great tasting menu. We shared bruchetta board, and then ordered pasta for main, followed by delicious dessert. Just a shame there weren't more patrons dining as it's such a great place. I guess a secret gem!
Nice and innovative bruschetta. Cocktails were uninspiring and certainly oversold in description. Fish didn’t taste that fresh. Good fun if you want upmarket pizza but main courses uninspiring.
Johnny himself a great character and we were so pleased to meet him. Pretty empty on a Friday night so music seemed a bit too loud. Without peeps to absorb. Those bruschettas were great. Novel and exceptionally tasty. Had to wait a while (in a non-busy restaurant) but had a trainee waitress so all understandable. Wine ordered had run out but Johnny came back with an even better bottle charged at original price. Really nice place. Despite the little clutches we'll be back.
My first time in, it was amazing! Great food and wonderful atmosphere.
I will come back soon surely.
Amazing customer service! You crew Domenico was very helpful and friendly. My and my boyfriend loved his energy.
The food was really good but the service, albeit friendly, was quite mishap. For example, a friend ordered a drink which didn't arrive so we had to ask for it to be take off the bill. For some reason there was problem with doing so, and we were overcharged so when we pointed this out we were told we would all be given some cash but that never happened. Also, a drink was knocked over by the chef, and there was no offer of a new glass to replace this or a discount applied to the bill.
So I would recommend for the food but think service could be improved on!
What a fantastic night - the Bruschetta is just amazing - with such a broad range of absolutely delicious italian choices. Everyone absolutely loved it!
Good wine list - including reasonably priced, good quality wines and the service was just awesome!
Highly highly recommend this hidden gem in Barnsbury.... we will definitely be back soon.
Unfortunately not as great as its predecessor, CuredBar.
Wonderful local restaurant. Perfect for romantic dinners and also works well for Friday nights with the kids. The staff couldn't be more helpful. Food excellent. Great selection of wines and beers.
We booked a table at Cured but somehow ended up at a restaurant called Johnny Bruschetta. The menu was nothing like what is posted on the website and what we anticipated, nor were there any dishes similar to those pictured. We were deeply disappointed. The bruschetta was edible but basically just white toast with not particularly generous toppings. A gimmick. The hugely misleading website needs to own up that Cured no longer exists.
The service was very good though the menu and set up had changed from the previous visit.
Super fun place! The ingredients are phenomenal — their mozzarella is like nothing I have tasted before, it’s so creamy. The sharing concept works well. It’s quirky and unusual, and well walk the short walk from Angel Tube. Great drinks selection too, can’t beat a Spritz, and theirs are very tasty indeed. I highly recommend Cured and will be visiting again soon.
This was our first visit to Cured and won't be our last. It has been open for 7 months and was very quiet when we went there although it was early in the evening. We booked the 3-course menu on Opentable and it proved to be a bargain. It is basically starter, main and dessert chosen from the a la carte menu. Very few pre-theatre set menus allow an open choice of the a la carte menu. Portions were large and quality very good.
Food was good but didn't try enough of the menu which was pretty interesting. Unfortunately we were not super hungry. The orecchiette dish was super tasty but unexpectedly far too spicy. I love nduja but still I wasn't expecting the sauce to be that hot ;)
The music was a lttle bit loud and super cheesy but maybe that's just my opinion.
Overall a good experience and I will be back for sure to discover more.
I love this place. It's local, the staff are fantastic, the food is fantastic, the drinks are good, the prices are fair (they are fantastic when you book with an offer though). Ambience could be a little better- it's cold and a bit bare/uncomfortable during the winter.
Lovely staff and food! Bar area is fab. Great addition to the area.
Cured pulled out the stops for a memorable Valentine's meal with jazz trio and singer.
Lovely food, really fresh ingredients and nicely presented. Great service from the owner who made a special effort to come and chat to us, and once he discovered we were celebrating a birthday gave us free cocktails and dessert. We were also given the iPad to control the restaurant music which we particularly enjoyed. Very local feel, will be making frequent return visits.
Pleasant midweek dinner after attending local event. The cured deli items are good and the mainly fish cooked dishes well conceived and executed. Interesting wine but few bargains.
Birthday meal. Everything was excellent. We will be back soon.
We had a Christmas lunch at Cured with a few friends and it was incredible! The atmosphere is cozy, modern and relaxed. The service was incredibly friendly and prompt. And most importantly, the food was absolutely delicious. We had such a fun, delicious and festive afternoon, we’ll definitely be going back. Try the beef cheeks, they were amazing!
Friendly place with good food, good for groups and families
Disappointing for Sunday lunch.
Having had two favourable evening visits, we thought we’d give Sunday lunch a try. Previously we noted good comfortable ambience, good friendly service, pretty good beer and great cheese and meat bar food.
We felt on this occasion that the menu lacked on vegetarian options, the chicken dry and bland, the vegetables were on the raw side of al dente and the roast potatoes too dry.
The roast beef was perfectly cooked, Yorkshires just right, gravy rich and tasty, with plenty of the appropriate condiments.
Temperature was an issue with all the dishes, whereas roasties were piping hot, meat and other veg were not. Seemed to me a prolonged/delayed plating up.
Needs to do better to match the many good offerings in the area, at Sunday lunchtime anyway.
Great service and really good price. Food was nice but was lacking that “omg” factor. Overall great place and would come back. Needs more variety on dessert menu too!
We had a quick pre-theatre meal at Cured. Service was very good and we were offered 2/3 courses from the a la Carte menu for the Open Table deal plus a carafe of wine - which was good value. The starters were decent enough but unfortunately my mushroom risotto significantly lacked seasoning, after which I lost my appetite. The staff offered to provide something else instead (as well as a complimentary digestive) however we had to leave to make it to the theatre. We were offered an opportunity to return in order to have an improved experience, but we do not love localled and I would have preferred to have the offending dish removed from the bill. Hopefully this is just a one off bad experience as Cured has a lot going for it, and many other reviewers have had positive experiences.
Delicious food, great ambience and very welcoming staff. My friends were thrilled with the restaurant choice. The orichette was delicious!! Thank you.
