They were out of many items and they took an exceptionally long time to serve our group of 4 (even though we were the only people at the restaurant).
Seated, but never received service. So, we left.
Difficult to be so negative - but awful service, food and drinks. Slow service, terrible drinks, awful tasting food.
Excellent plant-based options in a quiet (in the evening) and modern setting. This appears to be the "coffee shop" for the Rowan hotel.
Cute little restaurant in a hotel, they do have a few vegan options that we were excited to try.
The avocado flatbread was great.
The ambiance was soft and enjoyable.
Overall, a very disappointing experience. The waitstaff entered my wife’s order incorrectly then it took an extraordinary time to get it corrected. I ended up sharing my entree with my wife so neither of us received what we wanted. They finally brought my wife’s entree when we were finished eating. Only a perfunctory apology from the manager. What food we did receive was good but the poor service ruined that experience.
Lovely New Mid-Century Hotel. Fantastic Ambiance and Food. Engaging Staff.
We made a reservation for 7:30. We were on time. The restaurant was almost empty and the waiter just waived at us and told us to sit where ever we wanted. After 5 minutes and no waiter, I went to the desk and asked for menus. The waiter said he would be right there. After another 5 minutes of waiting and no menus, we left. Its no wonder the place is empty with staff actively dissuading patrons from dining there. The restaurant across the street was hopping so its not like it was a quiet night. Terrible experience. Would not recommend this place to anyone. Management needs to step up.
They changed the menu so we left .............................................................,..
This was our first visit and we weren't sure what to expect. It was amazing! I had the impossible burger which was so delicious. It came with the best fries I've had in a long while. We shared an appetizer of cauliflower that was so fantastic, I asked for the recipe! The service was friendly and fast and it wasn't too crowded. I can't wait to go back again!
We ate here twice while on a recent visit to Palm Springs - once for breakfast and another for dinner. Both meals were outstanding. Dinner was very quiet - we were the only ones in the restaurant. It being mid July we were only mildly surprised but honestly - the food and value is so good it should be packed. It’s very causal but the cuisine is worthy of a 5 star establishment.
The menu is more interesting sounding than the actual quality of the food served. We were the only guests at this moment, which could have rang a bell...
Great experience! Staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. We had an awesome dinner!
Great food, very fresh. Great service too.
Service was terribly slow. Food was plated beautifully but I ordered one dish and they substituted for another without telling me. Food was good but couldn’t overcome the slow service.
Great food. Great drinks. Loved how tasty, balanced and healthy the food was. Nothing felt too heavy. They don't have a kids menu but the food is so good my toddlers ate what we ate and more. Such a wonderful experience.
Don’t be fooled. This is an average hotel dining experience. I read online they have “dedicated dining by night.” There was one other table (family) besides us inside and maybe 2 tables outside. The photos on Instagram not the case at all. The place was dead on a Sunday night of a holiday weekend. Food was average, atmosphere sub-par. Hate to give a bad review, but annoyed we felt misled.
They were closed due to private party inside and rain earlier in the day. I was not informed by anyone and made the trip there. Very disappointing.
Very limited menu. Slow service, despite what appeared to be more than adequate wait staff. Waiter failed to put in our appetizer order and did not come back to check on us for close to 20 minutes. While he comped us for the hummus order, he did not do anything about getting something to us to eat after close to 40 minutes from the time we ordered our meal. On the positive side, the sumac roasted carrots and the chicken were nicely cooked and quite good. The hummus? Not so much.
The staff was great! We felt like everyone talked to us and the water glasses were filled up immediately! There is not a lot of choices on the menu, though, but what we had was good and seemed fairly priced for downtown Palm Springs.
We ordered a cheese board and two sides for appetizers. We were wildly impressed by the carrots that came with a VERY interesting spice we had not heard of called Vadouvan. Vadouvan is a French interpretation of Indian masala curry powder. The Pan Seared Cauliflower with pickled raisins, pepitas, capers, and herbs was equally impressive. I had low expectations for a hotel lobby restaurant and that certainly changed. Our server was fantastic. She told us about their accomplished chef who has returned to his hometown, bringing his flair to the menu. The entrees were delicious, but the start was so memorable. We will certainly come back.
We were on vacation. Service and good were great and the live music was fun!
The steak & frites really hit it out of the ballpark. Really delicious. The meat & cheese plate was just ok. The octopus was good but I was disappointed in the small amount of octopus in it. The little gem salad was really good. The ambiance was perfect. Just off the main street & Starbucks in a gorgeous setting. We sat outside during the Thursday night street party & really enjoyed our dinner here.
The patio dining is nice and the food was overall good. My falafel wrap could have had more falafel and less yogurt. The service was very slow, I don't know if they were short wait staff or chefs. I put down that I would recommend to a friend hoping that this was just a one time fluke.
We tried Juniper for the first time. It was a good dining experience.
Drinks were very expensive and any additions were also expensive.
Turkey burger was dry and the service was very poor.
Hostess didn't acknowledge me. Waiter said to sit yourself. Took 25 mins to get water and 35 to get a drink. Salad would have been insipid if not for the pile of salt seasoning everything. We didn't order a main. $100 for awful food and crap service. Stay away.
Excellent food at an excellent price. Light but tasty.
Very friendly service
Food was way better than wed guessed it might be
I definately go again
Party of four tried their hamburger, chicken sandwich, mezze plate, and salad. All outstanding. The fries were delicious. Very cozy inside and a nice outdoor patio for people watching.
Lots of veggie choices in spite of being a limited hotel menu. The quality of the food was excellent. We ordered an avocado flatbread dusted with turmeric which was an interesting combination. The broccoli date crunch was very delicious and a very interesting flavor combination as well. We ordered the seared cauliflower and the roasted parsnips as sides. The cauliflower was excellent. They were out of the parsnips but the gave us roasted brussels sprouts without the pork belly because we indicated we did not like pork belly - too much fat. We are not vegetarians but we do tend to choose veggie when we have options.
It pains me to rate a hotel restaurant so highly but the food was better than most of the restaurants we sampled in our eight day vacation.
We loved everything we are and drank!
All the food was very good but the octopus dish was excellent. Service was nice.
Word of mouth was good but the fish tacos we ordered were pretty mediocre. I'd go back and try other offerings.
Juniper Table is the all-day cafe style hotel restaurant in the new Rowan Hotel. Three of us had dinner there on a busy Saturday evening because we could not get into the main hotel restaurant. Hotel management says Juniper has "breezy Palm Springs style." That's about right if they mean it looks like a McDonald's furnished by Ikea and staffed by people on the waiting list at Starbuck's. In fact, 10 steps away is a Starbuck's Reserve that is WAY more attractive, comfortable, and hip than Juniper. To be fair, I think the problems here all come from this being a very new location with the usual problems of having to hire and train new staff. When we arrived I visited the lobby restroom and found that the toilet paper was completely out, so I set the kleenex box next to the commode for the next visitor; an hour and a half later I visited again and there still was no TP plus the kleenex was also exhausted and the floor was covered--wall to wall--with shredded paper. What, no employee is tasked with checking the lobby restroom? Worse yet, when I mentioned this to the person behind the concierge counter, I got a blank look and no acknowledgement whatsoever. I guess it wasn't his job. We noticed the same attitude at the upstairs bar--it seems no one is happy to be working there or willing to take ownership of anything. Oh, they are all very young and reasonably pretty, but they ain't woke--they don't even seem awake.
Met the parents out for dinner and couldn’t be more pleased with our dining experience. We ordered an assortment of plates and my favorite bite came from the charcuterie board. We sat on the patio to enjoy the live music and the service from Rikki was spot on as he is very knowledgeable on the menu. I will continue to bring my friends and family to Juniper Table
The restaurant and outdoor area is well done, and the hotel is beautiful. We found the service extremely slow even though there were maybe 3 other tables including ours. We ordered the Mezze plate, which was okay at best. I ordered a salad, the branzino, and the brussels sprouts. I kept waiting on the salad, but after about 30 minutes, the branzinzo and the Brussels sprouts came out, but no salad. The waitress thought that I’d want it all brought out at the same time (which it wasn’t even ready when the mains were) and I was confused as I had never said that and it’s a given that a salad is always a starter unless stated that you want it out with the main. The only redeeming part of the meal was the branzino, which was well seasoned and cooked perfectly. Palm Springs has a ton of great restaurants, this isn’t one of them.
We had dinner reservations at 6:15. When we arrived there was a private event going on and the hostess said we could either sit outside ( 108 degrees that night) or we could wait an hour or more to see if the fundraiser event would be over. The restaurant never called to notify nor did they blockbout the time on Open table. A very big mistep on their part as my guest is a travel writer. He was NOT pleased at the hostess’s lame excuse
Finding the restaurant was difficult because nothing in the Open Table notice tells you it is inside the hotel.
We had a really good meal at Juniper's Table. The service was outstanding and the entrees were perfect. It was a great spot for a quiet, laid-back dinner.
