Awh it was great! I had around 18 people at dinner and the service was great!
This was our second visit over the past month. We had the same server, Robert, both times. The menu, the food, the ambiance, and Robert’s service were wonderful on both occasions. The menu offers something for everyone ... and from the appetizers to the main courses, the food was unique and delicious. We highly recommend! PS ... we loved the flaming cheese appetizer ... and loved the reaction from the other diners.
Good food, great ambience. Some vegetarian options. Parking was a little challenging.
Very good spot to grab a quick lunch. Delicious baklava for dessert
Although, it is about 25 minutes away, my husband and I tend to choose this restaurant again and again. Good is delicious...Too many choices. I usually try to choose a Greek meal, but we also love the Italian dishes. the flaming cheese appetizer is a riot to watch and yummy to eat. Desserts are a must...so we often take home our overflowing plates of dinner entrees. If you can handle more courses....try the Green Lemon chicken soup. I have often just had a huge bowl of that for dinner. Try this restaurant!
Amazing food and service. Hope to return when the weather is nicer to sit outside. Opa!
The food was really good and abundant. Miles, our server, was attentive and pleasant. One suggestion: use pitted olives in the salad. We will definitely return!
Dined there on Valentines Day. Had eaten there before and was looking forward to a traditional Mediterranean meal. Went onto web site prior to check out the menu. There was no mention that for Valentines Day the both the price and menu options were fixed. Selections were very limited and good have been available and probably better elsewhere. Disappointed!
My husband and I thought we'd give them a try as a pre-Valentine's dinner. When we arrived, we were the only ones there (which I don't mind) and it had a nice view. The man that greeted us was pleasant as was the woman who lit our candle. Our waitress was ok..perhaps due to us not having any drinks prevented her from interacting with us as she did with a couple that came in later during our meal. The atmosphere was a little blah, a bit of a difference from the restaurant that was there prior. As for the food, I ordered the chicken french - the angel hair pasta was really over cooked and mushy and the sauce was way to cheesy. It needed an acid to cut the richness. My husband ordered the moussaka - the eggplant was thick cut, but the skin was very tough which made it difficult to eat.
We went for Sunday brunch. They only serve breakfast and lunch. It was tasty but nothing special.
What can i say Kainos is like a version of lays potato chips You cant eat just one. or visit just once. The food is on point but with its own little twist. the place is like a Grecian Palace inside. the view of Rochester skyline is one of a kind. I recommend the Poseidon a seafood lovers dream so Delish. along with the wonderful greek wine which i forget the name of well its Greek and all Greek to me. Im so glad i found this amazing place. Our Server and the bartender were so nice it felt like family. and when we were about to leave the chef came out with 2 pieces of Baklava that was just made. I will eat it when i cant home. so i cant review it now but it smells amazing. Thank you Kainos
We were celebrating our son’s wedding. We had a great relaxing meal!
Our server Jeremy was the only waiter working Saturday afternoon, and he was the bartender... so things were a little slow, but it wasn’t disappointing. They didn’t have Pinot Noir, and they ran out of bourbon.
The baklava was very “Wet” and the spices were overpowering.
The artichoke French and Chicken French were the best we’ve EVER had! I loved blueberry salad!
Can’t wait to go back!
I would not recommend. I went there with friends Friday night and it was a horrible experience. We went there to celebrate a birthday. When one of my friends asked politely for a different dish due to allergy restrictions, the host wasn't sincere and said the kitchen was closed. The host didn't try to accommodate my friend's needs. My friend ended up without a meal that night. Also, the restaurant failed to refill our water. I am very disappointed with the so-called 'service.'
Horrible experience? we all were there listening to all of you having fun carrying on. Even changed the music in the restaurant for all of you. we bent over backwards for your birthday table and your friend was not allergic to the meal if your friend would have read the menu it stated the the Chicken Sinatra comes with 25 yr old provolone cheese and they would have known that dish was not for them. After review the video of your dinner party your review is false. Thank you and god bless
Good was great! Bartender and waiter were awesome!!
Had a wonderful dinner before and RBTL show. Everything was perfect.
The place is beautiful and the view of the canal is the perfect setting. All four of us agreed the food was excellent. The only negative would be the service. Our waiter was very overwhelmed and having difficulty with the tablet he used to take our order. We asked for separate checks but he had difficulty providing this and in the end handed us a ticket with just an amount we owed. No items listed so we just had to trust that he was honest.
Lot's of food choices (although half were Italian) and portions were abundant, Good Greek wine, service was spotty and the band, while really good, were too loud for the size of the restaurant.
Very good food & service. Live band playing at 5:30 which we weren’t expecting. Made speaking with each other difficult. Although, the band was very good.
Food was great. A bit noisy. Waiter was good. 9/10
Hubby had " pan seared" scallops and there was not searing involved with pasta that was bland. . My dish was a shrimp dish that was completely flavorless. Looks like a crowd for retirees.
First time visit. Seated promptly but went downhill from there. Asked for wine list but waiter said they had no current list and did not get their delivery of wines. I asked him if he could name/offer any bottles of red they had. He could not and eventually I spoke with bartender. She helped and eventually a bottle was identified and selected. Waiter did a poor job with wine. He failed to properly remove enough foil to expose enough of the cork. He failed to offer cork for examination and he poured two glasses without allowing a taste to see if it was corked. He then disappeared which was a theme for rest of dinner. We asked if we could share a large salad which we could but he failed to bring us salad plates. I guess he expected us to both pick at the large bowl with our forks. Cook brought entrees out of kitchen to waiter but he didn't know which table they belonged to. Of course, when he did figure out the table, the dishes went to the wrong diner. Again he disappeared. We had to ask for replacement forks etc. Inattentive service for an upscale restaurant? Entrees were tasty, only bright spot. Finally had to ask for a bag for doggie bag containers (greek food). At $150 tab for two, there are much better options in Rochester for dinner. Aaron needs some training.
Three friends and I met for dinner here last night and we were all very impressed. It was our first time and the food did not disappoint! We shared a dipping plate with 5 fresh sauces, expertly doused with garlic and seasoned perfectly, and served with lots of pita. Dipping veggies were also provided for a gluten sensitivity. The carbonara was deliciously creamy and the portions were gigantic. I had a spinach and blueberry salad and the dressing was out of this world. There was a Beatles cover band that started playing at the end of our meal and it was a little difficult for us to hear each other well so it was time to go. Very nice that there was valet parking. Even nicer to make reservations in your app. We wouldn’t have known about this wonderful find were it not included in OpenTable.
We were in town with family from all over the country. I found the restaurant using an open table search. I have always loved authentic fresh Greek cuisine. All of our dishes were outstanding! I had the grilled octopus app followed by the whole broiled sea bass. Wonderful!
Great food and service!
Stopped in for a random lunch with my husband. Our waiter was super friendly and attentive. We had a view of the water and we will be coming back in the summer for the outside dining experience and bar outside. Food was very good lots of options. The Greek Chicken Salad was huge and came with a ton of feta. The bathrooms were huge and super clean.
Waiter was exceptional!
Great food, great ambiance, great location but the waiter was terrible. Obviously not interested in being there. He definitely should look for a different line of work
Love this place, I have brought many friends and always very good with great service, beautiful views.
We had a great table near the river which was nice. Our waitress was attentive and took our orders IB a timely manner. Unfortunately the food was disappointing. Even thought it was only 6pm they were out of the vegetarian lasagna which was one of the few dishes my daughter could eat.
Our 3 appetizers arrived quickly: Artichoke Francese, Arancini, and Spanikopata. The sauce for the artichokes was too thick and too lemony. The Spanikopata was just okay, a little on the bland side. The Arancini was good, especially the red sauce.
Our main meals were a mix. Both soups we had (Avgolemono and lobster bisque) were way too thick. Neither were finished.
I had one of the specials, sea bass, which was also a normal menu item!? It was bland and did not taste fresh to me.
The vegetable pasta dish was mostly pasta and not many veggies.
The souvlaki dishes were the best based on the comments from those that ordered them.
The other dishes, an entree salad (with a giant block of feta) and shrimp scampi, were okay.
We had two desserts, baklava and bougatsa, that were enough for 2 (or 3) people. The baklava was too heavy on the clove however.
All in all it was disappointing given all the good reviews I had heard on the radio.
Amazing river views & great Greek food!
The food was excellent. We really enjoyed our dinner.
$15 hummus appetizer was overpriced , had no taste snd had the consistency of dry wall paste
My chicken on the souvlaki platter was served to me RAW
On the kebob. It took so long to get it back and it was the same pieces but burnt
Apple cider margarita was the only good part of the dinner
I was there for lunch in summer and food was forgettable but thought to give it another try. Wont be back
Waitress said chef is the owner but I’ve had better Mediterranean food at a diner
We had our 11th anniversary dinner there recently with a table view of the river and city skyline all lit up. Wow! The waiter, servers, bar staff, and Jeff (owner and chef) came out to the table to wish us a happy anniversary. But, as nice as they were the food was even better. My wife had Chicken Sinatra and Lemon Chicken Soup. I had the Tenderloin Marsala with New England Clam chowder. We also had their famous flaming cheese appetizer with fresh Pita bread as an appetizer. Even though we wanted “Wummabite” ... (aka 1 more bite) we could not finish the portions were generous. We happily got to take our leftovers home.
Birthday dinner! Food excellent! Large portions! It was a Monday evening and just one other table...the outdoor terrace looks amazing when weather is nice!
Great service and atmosphere! Manager really took care of my special request for my date and we had a great time!
Grilled baby octopi were cold in the center. Obviously frozen when they hit the sauté pan. We had a grilled sea bass that couldn’t get past our nose...bad fish. Menu is way too big, which worried me from the beginning. I don’t understand the need to crowbar Italian items into the menu. I may return for a shot of mastic, but definitely not for the food.
Great service. Nice ambiance by the water. Very good food. Large portions good for sharing.
First time visit for dinner. Drinks at the bar first. Awesome bartender Kate! The meal was good. I picked something out of my comfort zone, and, it was very good, but a little too much cheese for my taste. My friends meal was very much enjoyed too. We will definitely be back.
We chose to eat outdoors, riverside. We were waiting for another person, so chose to have drinks. After waiting for awhile, we ordered appetizers. We never felt rushed and the service was wonderful. We ordered 2 appetizers, spanakopita was way too salty, but fried artichoke hearts were delicious. Main courses were quite good.
We really enjoyed the live music. It rounded out the evening .
