Kalaveras is a unique fast casual concept with vibrant colors, art, music, and culture of a time honored tradition – El Dia de Los Muertos. A blend of innovative urban mixology, Latin American culinary classics, tribute to well known Hispanic artists, and nothing but buenas vibras!

Our cocktails are a mixture of urban mixology complemented by fresh ingredients including herbs, infusions, and homemade syrups. This immersive experience indulges all of the senses, creating a unique experience even for those with the most complex of palates.

Our culinary menu reflects a deep passion for traditional Mexican and Latin American cuisine with a modern Kalaveras twist. Our Chef's recipes are passed down from generation to generation. We showcase classics such as barbacoa and carnitas plates, which are slow cooked to perfection, as well as unique twists on Enchiladas Verdes, Tacos gobernador, and our exclusive Molcajete.

Idk if I can say enough! The atmosphere was so fun and cool. The drinks were delicious. The food. Oh my gosh the food was terrific. We had the tacos gobernador and the birria tacos. Both were amazing. Happy hour was good too! We both got drinks and meals and only spent like $45/pp. Will definitely be back

Food was excellent and the service was impeccable. We had carnitas and guacamole and a grilled chicken salad. The interior of the restaurant was so fun and lively! We will definitely return!

Really slow and inattentive service. Shrimp Ceviche was tough, probably overcooked. Guacamole was okay and the house salsa a touch disappointing. Carnitas Tacos were top notch as was the Hibiscus Margaritas

We wanted to go to a mexican restaurant on Cinco de Mayo, and ended up at Kalveras. It was so loud, I couldn’t hear myself think. I felt like I was at a club in Cabo on spring break. We all ended up leaving because it was so noisy, we had to scream to talk to one another. We tried eating the chips and salsa, but they were oily and not good. We left before even ordering a drink.

Food was mediocre. Very greasy. I ordered a lomo saltado and it was drenched in oil. The taste wasn't that great either. Arrived home with a stomach ache. Margarita was good.

Went to the new santa monica location to celebrate our friend’s birthday and we had a great time! All of our food was excellent, my friends enjoyed the kala bowl and pollo, barbacoa, and asada tacos. I ordered the wet burrito and it was one of the best burritos i’ve had in a while, very flavorful and filling. The food also came out very fast, barely had to wait. They also did a birthday celebration in the end where we ordered flan and the staff brought it out with a sparkler and had the entire restaurant sing for my friend. I will say that this place is pretty loud, we could barely hear each other during our dining experience, but that didn’t detract from our experience as we still had a great dining experience with great food. I would definitely recommend this place for any type of occasion or get-together.

Delicious aguachiles, carne asada and carnitas!!! The craft cocktails are fun and refreshing. We’ll definitely return to try other dishes especially the tacos.

Nice option for Santa Monica Mexican sit down. Bright, colorful and festive. Interesting drink menu with some creativity in presentation. House margaritas were good. We had shrimp with aguachile appetizer, which we all liked, shrimp enchiladas (tasty but heavily sauced), carne asada among others. Large portions, solid flavors, saucy - a bit messy but fine if you like that. Guac was pretty lackluster flavor so not as recommendable. Staff was uniformly attentive and food came out quickly. Good place to have high energy Mexican, and multiple TVs to watch sports if that's what you want.

The place was very cute and the staff were amazing! The food was not that great, perhaps because it’s a chain? Or maybe we ordered the wrong things. But the taquitos were small and greasy and the barbacoa was also not what we expected. The tacos were okay. Again, the staff was great
