Kefi at Yorgos
great food and service for our group of 10.
A trip to Lancaster should include dinner at Kefi ... great food, drinks and service!
My wife and I were in a situation where we had 1 and a half hours before are next event and needed somewhere to eat. Kefi was the restaurant we decided upon. Are expectations were exceeded! We booked a table for two on OpenTable. We were greeted by the Maitre d' who identified that we booked a table for two at Kefi, which was upstairs. We were seated promptly. Drink orders were taken quickly. The atmosphere was perfect for our conversation. Our food was very good. Will definitely be back!
Kefi at Yorgo’s is consistently great! We are never disappointed!!
Lovely decor. Friendly service. Very good food, for reasonable price.
We had a reservation and were asked if we’d like to sit on rooftop restaurant, to which we said yes. When we got up there, it was very noisy due to a music festival being held 1/2 block away. So we chose to sit indoors on the 2nd floor. We were the only patrons on that level for the entire meal. There were many people at the first floor bar and the rooftop. So although it was odd that it was so empty , we loved our food: a shared appetizer of breaded and fried eggplant which was delicious, not greasy. I had Chilean sea bass , Mediterranean style which was cooked In wine and olive oil with plenty of capers to add to the flavor. My partner had salmon baked in paper (can’t remember the French name) he had Caesar salad and I had a garden salad . Both the entrees were delicious. The salad was average. We ended with a shared baklava, which was wonderful, with perhaps more of the sweet honeyed sauce than I am used to. Overall , we thought the food was great, the service was attentive , we would have preferred Greek music over the Motown and other rock to add to the ambience. Although their menu on the website showed no prices, leading us to believe it would be very expensive, we thought it was reasonable for a good meal, with our entrees $21 and $26. Perhaps not advertising prices is scaring people away.
Excellent food and outstanding service!
We waited 1 1/2 hrs for our food!! They gave a lame excuse that they were busy. There were 3 tables occupied on the third floor where we sat outside, no one on the second and three people at the bar on the first floor. I ordered tuna it was ok but my wife had lamb chops severely over cooked.
I will never be back.
My husband and I dined at Kefi recently with another couple. It was a sunny and warm late spring evening and we were able to sit out on the deck overlooking Orange Street in Lancaster City. The service could not have been any better and both the food and cocktails were absolutely delectable! We enjoyed talking to another group of guests who traveled from Reading, Pa to dine at Kefi and they were as equally pleased as us. In addition, the owners come around to each table say hello which adds to the experience!
We went for mother's day lunch because there were so few options available. I can only think our waitress was new because the service was slow and somewhat inadequate. We were seated quickly. Our drink and meal order taken. We then waited an hour and 15minutes for our meal. We had to ask for our warm bread which wasn't. The lobster bisque was only luke warm. The food didn't make you say mmm. Just average, nothing special. The owner's heard we were waiting and seem to speed things up. Everyone was very apologetic and we were offered free rice pudding to take home. They kept saying the delay was because it was mother's day but others came and went. We decided it just gave us more time to visit. Probably won't return.
We waited 1 hour for our food - during the wait I think we should have been offered bread or a free drink. It was Mother's Day but we had a reservation and 2 or the 4 items were the Mother's Day special. They shoud have been better staffed.
The food was very good. We all had seafood dishes. The Chilean sea bass is as excellent. Companions had lobster ravioli, tuna, branzino, salmon. All were excellent. Sadly they were out of dolmas and tiropita, so it didn’t really feel like a Greek restaurant.
Only people in the restaurant. Was not “set-up for dinner. Absolutely zero buzz. A beautiful Chilean Sea Bass was overcooked and most lokely frozen. No flavor in sides. Swiss chard tasted boiled and put on my plate. Decor was cute but wasted. Probably should stick to bar food. Wayyyyy overpriced. A bad dinner experience that cost us over $100 for two people. Will not go back.
Good food, great service, nice atmosphere, good value. Could definitely use more vegan/vegetarian options, though.
Wow, we were pleasantly surprised! I anticipated a decent experience, but they delivered well beyond that. The food was far better than the prices might suggest. Worthy of a return visit soon.
The food was delicious and the service was great. We will definitely be back.
The food at Kefi at Yorgos was outstanding! The sea bass was wonderful, with capers, tomatoes and mushrooms. My friend's steak was also very good. Getting seated and the service were both quite challenging. We had a 6 p.m. reservation on a Saturday night and arrived about 10 minutes early. By 6 p.m. the front entryway had 15 people packed in it, who had not been seated. We were finally seated about 6:10, but then it took more than 10 minutes to even get a glass of water - and that's only because I flagged down a waiter. We got water, but it was another 5 minutes before anyone took our drink order. While the food was some of the best I've had in Lancaster, make sure you have plenty of time and aren't hungry when you arrive!
Absolutely loved it! Our first time here...but won't be our last! Cozy and warm atmosphere. Not a large menu...and not traditional Mediterranean, but definitely a Mediterranean influence. I did hear one of the managers tell a guest they are revising their menu to include more traditional Greek dishes. Can't wait to see that! Our service was good, with at least four different people checking on us - but not overbearing. Food was wonderful! Great overall experience!
Despite listing a number of Greek dishes on the menu posted on Open Table, there were actually no Greek dishes available at dinner except avgolemeno, which was good but not great. The lamb chops and shrimp linguine main courses were good, while the salmon main course was bland. The petite filet was good but had to be sent back to the kitchen twice to get it cooked to medium rare as originally ordered. The truffle butter ordered was not added back to the steak after that, but we were still charged $4 for it despite pointing out the mistake to the waitress. The service was attentive but impatient. The dining room was noisy in part because of the loud music being played in the bar on the floor below. With so many other good options in downtown Lancaster, we won’t be back.
It was a very nice place to have dinner. Nothing outstanding but everything was certainly up to par. I'll definitely be back.
Totally enjoyed our dinner. Waitress was helpful and friendly. We all had fish dishes and they were wonderful. The Greek halibut was yummy - as were the sides. Branzino delicious. Definitely recommend!
Got a private room in the back... was fantastic... wait staff was swamped, but went OUT OF THEIR WAY to make sure we were accommodated
The service was good untill my wife's order was messed up but they fixed it promptly. Other then that food was very good nice place to go out to eat would recommend to anyone who likes Greek food. Will return.
Food was great. We shared a salad and appetizer and ordered our own meals. The portion sizes were decent so I had a little bit leftover to take home - good value for the price.
Great food, greek entrees, good choices on the menue
We had a lovely time! The mussels were amazing, as was the Greek salad, tuna, and chocolate lava cake. The New Fashioned was delicious! I would recommend for great food, service, and ambiance!
The food is great... the staff is very friendly and eager to please. All around pleasant experience.
This was our first outing to Yorgos. And we dined on the second floor. I understand there are a total of four! The dining room was very quiet and there weren’t many other customers. It was a Wednesday night. The bartender also doubled as the waiter and he was very friendly and helpful. We had a salad which was shared among three of us. The waiter went out of his way to bring extra bowls with extra dressing on the side. and the salad was delicious -definitely a 5! we also shared the Calamari which had a nice Greek twist to it with feta and olives and was equally good. It was also a very generous serving. As for the entrée I had special -with salmon and crab and was too much for me to eat was very good, maybe just a bit on the dry side but with a excellent sauce. The other guests got a halibut which was pretty much lost in a tomato cacciatore style sauce. It definitely lent itself to a more homestyle this and they were not as excited about theirs as I was about mine. All in all a positive experience. 3.8 out of 5.
The meal started slow. Service was slow despite only 3-4 tables being occupied. A server took our drink orders and about 10 minutes passed when another server asked if our drink order was taken. And we told him what we got. He went and took them off the bar. So they were sitting on the bar. Calamari was great!! I would go back just for that. The rest of the meal was not good. I got 2 sides baked mac and cheese and sweet potato casserole. The baked mac and cheese was literally Kraft mac and cheese. And tasted like an off brand of boxed mac and cheese. The sweet potato casserole was a sweet potato cut in half and with almonds on it. No taste. I asked to switch for creamed corn and marked potatoes. Better but not great. Overall, for what we paid, it was not worth it. I would spend $100+ at Pour anyday over this and get better food, drinks, and service.
Quiet, decent food, a little pricey but not bad.
I so wanted this place to be better. Some things were great... calamari appetizer and fried eggplant appetizer, delicious. Everything else, meh. I've had Greek food and Mediterranean Food from coast to coast. This place ranks somewhere just below average.
Our server was great! She kept the meal moving at a casual, not rushed, pace. Exactly what we wanted. She was very knowledgeable about the food and menu!
Food was unique and delicious. Service was top notch
Outstanding food and ambience
Delicious food, fair prices, fresh pasta! Service was a bit slow at times. We were the only other table besides a 12 top, they were noisy...otherwise very happy with our dishes! Flavorful and diverse
We enjoyed everything we had, from saganaki to goat leg. The upstairs dining room is very nice and the roof would be nice on a cooler day.
This place is an undiscovered gem! Cool, clean vibes, great food and creative cocktails. I spent some time in Greece, and am always on the hunt for some authentic dishes. The owner is from Greece and came to our table to talk; we had a great conversation. They specialize in Mediterranian dishes so the menu is a bit broader food from Greece. Loved this place!
The food was surprisingly good and well priced. The service was a tad slow, but our server was otherwise very good. The pork was amazing, and the medi chicken was terrific. I would go back.
