King & Queen Cantina - San Diego
Such a fun time.
Its very pricey for what you get. If u want to get ripped off and stay hungry thats your place. First time there party of 8 we had reservations and still had to wait. The girls there have no dress code. The waiters (not the bartender) are dipping straws in the drinks and tasting them. So unprofessional . The alcohol drinks alone are expensive and honestly felt like it had NO alcohol at all. Not a good first impression its also hot in there.
Convenient and with a varied selection of tasty food. We liked the burrito and diablo sushi.
The place was very busy and I think that we got lost in the shuffle at first. Once we were helped our service was great. The food is great and if you’re looking for a vibrant atmosphere this is the place.
Great experience! Came with a big group and they were very accommodating.
Came for my birthday and had some last minute cancellations forcing us to downsize our party. The staff was extremely accommodating and took everything in stride. Will definitely return.
Great place! I absolutely love it here. The only downfall is that there are limited vegetarian and vegan options. I don't eat eggs and theres nothing I can order from the brunch menu. And their happy hour appetizer taquitos are only cheap if you order tinga, full price if you want it with POTATOES instead.
We live very close by and we eat here all the time. The food is always delicious and the service is always friendly.
Amazing food, beverages and music !!! I was on vacation and had to come 3 times because that’s how good the experience dinning here was.
Noisy, noisy, noisy! The menu consists of the usual fake Mexican food with cute names. Restauranteurs in this country should go to good restaurants in the central part of Mexico, or even in Tijuana, and study their menus to see what Mexicans actually eat.
This place looks like it would be a nice place to eat, but looks are deceiving. My husband and I had dinner reservations and they seated us half out of the restaurant , with tiny metal tables and chairs, between other patrons with metal tables and chairs. I wanted to at least sit inside the restaurant at a nice table, or upstairs which looked nice too. Our waiter was very nice. He really tried to enhance our dining experience by suggesting we get Margaritas. We did. Our margaritas were good. Our chips with guacamole, not so good. Whatever they put in their guacamole did not taste very good. It was too tangy. The salsa was good though. Our food almost took an hour to get, due to the large crowd of people that were there. At least, that is the excuse our waiter gave us. About 50 minutes after we ordered we got our burritos served with ...french fries. My asada burrito had that awful guacamole on it which made it taste odd. My husband was trying to figure out why his surf and turf burrito did not taste right. The fries were a joke. Not good at all. We did get free churros out of it. They are presented in a large, bulky, metal " miniature" churro cart. It was way too big for the 6 little churros we got out of it. The dipping sauces that came with it weren't that good either. To top it off, the churros were stale. Our bill was way too expensive for what we actually got. I guess this place has to make up for it's gimmicks and fancy decor, not that we got to see much of it from where we were seated. If you want good Mexican food, go somewhere else. If you don't know any better, come here and spend too much on ok food.
Our waitress Daisy was great and helpful! The food was delicious.
Great service and view and food
The food was so super rushed. Not great.
Service and food always consistently excellent.
While visiting San Diego we found the restaurant using the Open Table app and decided to give it a try.
Our first impression upon being seated was feeling like being stuffed into a can of sardines. The tables are extremely close to each other and we had the privilege of listening to another family yell and argue with one another. Another patron knocked our drink glass onto the floor with her purse (as she was being seated at the table next to us) because the seating is that tight.
The music was extremely loud and we could barely hear each other across the table. Our food was not planned well and my husbands tacos arrived at least 10 minutes before my entree. The young man delivering the food seemed bothered to have to work.
On a positive note, our waitress (Nicole) was very pleasant and the food did taste good. Maybe consider getting “take out” and walking down to the bay to enjoy a peaceful dinner at sunset.
Food and drinks are living up to expectations as seen on instagram and yelp. The 2nd floor seating delivers the experience for a go to drink and view.
Great food, awesome drinks, and STELLAR SERVICE. If you are in the mood to be treated like a KIng or Queen, well then you’ve found your next meal here!
The food is very good. The service is adequate, but it's all about the turn overs. As soon as they see you're about through, they're clearing plates and hovering to get you out and the next seating in. Still, it's has charm and tasty cuisine. I'll be back.
We had a 9:45 reservation so I fully expected to wait forever for our food. It was the complete opposite. Our server was super nice. She explained the entire menu including a great happy hour till closing time. Our appetizers came out within the first 15 minutes! The drinks and food where great and the music was awesome. Cant wait to go again
We had great margaritas and yummy food. Busy place but it was Friday night. Loud and energetic atmosphere.
The atmosphere was awesome, as was the service. The food was good, but wasn’t amazing.
Food great as always! Their tacos selection are delicious 😋
Excelente comida y tragos!!!
Made a reservation for 9pm happy hour with my girlfriends. we arrvied at 8:45, were told that our table was gettiing prepared. 40 mins go by and we are still standing around. were'nt seated until close to 10pm but which it then took over 15 in to get water. our food came before our drinks so we weren't able to enjoy them. spoke with the manager who was very apologetic. however i would not recommend this place during a busy happy hour. it had a ton of potential to be a funn cool place for drinks but i had a terrible painful experience. 10/10 would not recommend.
This is my new favorite spot. I’ve been here now a total of 4 times and every time I’ve had the best experience ever.
This restaurant has very unique and tasty food from what we tasted. The same goes for alcoholic drinks - very unique. We were exceptionally pleased with our meals, and the server was very friendly and helped explain the menu. The delivery of food from the kitchen was a little awkward. The big turn off was the volume of music....admittedly we are 60+ years old, but it was quite loud.
Love this place! Great vibes and amazing food and margaritas!!
I reserved ahead of time on OpenTable and I requested outside seating. However, we were not seated outside which is my only complaint. Other than that, food and drinks were excellent!
Like many of our previous visits to Kings and Queens tonight's Taco Tuesday was as usual just superb. Highly recommended for those of you who have never experienced Taco Tuesday at Kings and Queens. Service, drinks, and atmosphere just outstanding!
Great food and service! Love this place we will be back!
It was a great day for brunch at Kings & Queens... Juan and Lupita were great, friendly and went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. Thanks So Much!!
The enchiladas were amazing! Right up there with the best meals ever.
Horrible service unprofessional
The ambience, food, service, music, drinks and location are all
Fantastic! I’ve been for dinner and brunch. Both were great!
Our experience was perfect. Every staff member we interacted with was wonderful. They all took extremely good care of us. The food was soooooo good and the portions were perfectly sized. We will definitely be coming back again and I would absolutely recommend restaurant to anyone. Our experience was flawless.
Enjoyed my ceviche. It was really crowded and had to ask 4 separate time to have our waitress come over so I could order a beer. She didn’t check on us once during our meal because she was so busy.
Excellent service. We were seated right away. The drinks were amazing. Really good time! The music was great too!
We went here based on a friend's recommendation and it did not disappoint! Ambiance was great - loud, vibrant, fun. The rooftop had good views, the drinks were great and and everything we ordered to eat was amazing. They have a blended mango drink that is one to order if you like mango and dont forget the churro dessert.
Daisy was awesome, she explained the menu and suggested food items. Thank you!
