During a painstaking restoration of our historic property, a cache of relic South Carolina Dispensary liquor bottles were unearthed. Now salvaged and proudly displayed, these bottles have inspired a living history surrounded by one of the most extensive selections of LOCAL and CRAFT beer and spirits in Charleston.
To pair with our extensive beverage offerings, we proudly serve a full GASTROPUB style menu. Signature items include delicious handmade Bavarian Pretzel, Beer Cheese Fondue, and our famous old fashioned double-stacked, bacon-crusted Dispensary Burger, certain to soak up ANY appetite!

Good, casual food for the money. Service was excellent. Ate before the bar crowd came in.
Good place, lively and fun
If you’re looking for a college atmosphere filled with boozed up teens/young adults, lots of loud cursing and drunk convo and expensive drinks, this is the place for you. Though this place his potential to be very good, the company it keeps just makes it not the mature people. The food was ok. However our server was very polite and gave great drink recommendations. If I’m bar hopping I might come back, otherwise....meh
Food was tasty and flavorful. Server was fantastic maneuvering through the Saturday night bar rush. Band was a pleasant surprise and very good. Fun night.
Food was great and our server was excellent! Nice fun vibe!
Great time and great food!
SUCH a treat to find this restaurant! Charming, wonderful food served in large portions, and staff so ready to make you comfortable! We'll go back again whenever we are in Charleston!
Atmosphere and decor were great, we were early for our reservation and they sat us right away, staff was friendly and helpful and the food and drink was so good!
Great place! Great happy hour!
Great vibe and ambiance. Very friendly and helpful staff. Limited draft beer selection for a trendy bar. The ribs were not the best. They were tuff and dry.
Came for dinner and drinks before a comedy show. It was way louder then I expected. But food and drinks were great.
delicious and creative food, it is loud though, for sure a younger crowd. Great service, great drinks!
Great place to both eat and drink. Had great cocktails and the food was amazing. Didn’t expect the food to be so good!! Excellent experience
Great NYE date night. We always come here for drinks on the weekend, but this was our first time eating here. Food was fantastic and the service was great. Great energy and service. Highly recommend the mozzarella sticks and fried oysters!
My husband and I were there with 2 other couples ~ all of us in our 50's for NYE. It was a really young 20 something crowd. We had a lot of fun chatting with them. The (young) band lead singer/keyboard player sat down with us to eat his dinner & was super pleasant to get to know. Atmosphere was festive and fun. Seems to be a really popular spot as the line was out the door most of the night. We all enjoyed our dinner (shrimp tacos, prime rib special, burger, etc) and drinks which were all reasonably priced. I would recommend for a laid back & casual meal while in Charleston!
The door was left open the entire time when it was 54 degrees out. I along with other had to keep our jackets on.
The food was excellent! Will definitely be going back next time I am in town!
Big mistake people vaping passing one Juul up and down bar length pretty sure it was laced with something, Guys at end of bar groping young women then passing small packs that were quickly stuffed into there pockets made you wonder what was going on . Otherwise loud and obnoxious overserved patrons diffenetly will not go back and will let others know my thoughts on this place
Me and my good buds got together for some yummy eats and super delish drinks.
Ableist bouncer really made our night, not.
Went early and it was quite loud. So if you want a date night to chat, not the best place. The food was phenomenal and the service was on point.
Fun vibe, great food and service
Enjoyed brunch at the Dispensary. Got the $15 mimosas that served more than the 4 stated on the menu. (nice!) My wife had the blackened shrimp salad (cucumbers, tomatoes, guacamole, crispy tortilla chips, cheese, romaine, and honey cilantro dressing $13) and I had the madame croquette (ham, gruyere, creole mustard, mornay sauce, sunny side egg, and toasted brioche $12). Everything tasted great although the ham was a bit too salty. (I guess that's too be expected?) All in all an enjoyable Sunday afternoon.
Food was good. Decor gives you something interesting to look at in every corner. It was quiet as we went for lunch. really enjoyed it.
We popped in for a bite to eat on a date night. We were really impressed by King Street Dispensary. The atmosphere is great, the staff is accommodating, and the service is prompt. We really enjoyed the pretzels and beer cheese for an appetizer. The wings are a good size and tossed in a good amount of sauce, but isn’t too saucy. The truffle fries are to die for. There is also a great selection of beer here as well. I highly recommend.
This was my first trip to the Dispensary. It was more of a bar atmosphere than a dining one on this night. I am a sports guy, so I did not mind the Carolina game being on with volume. A table farther away from the bar would have been better for me to talk to the other members of my party without having to yell. The food was great! We had the buffalo chicken dip and mozzarella sticks as appetizers. Entrees we’re Ribs, French Dip, Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos, Chicken Wings, and an Oyster Po Boy. All were delicious. I will be back but will check the football schedule a little closer next time.
Great courtyard for outdoor eating etc out back.
Great place... Good food and very nice servers
Greek salad and the Caesar salad with chicken on it with excellent the table next was had this fantastic looking hamburgers that look really good I'll try that next time we go.... The waitress was great.... Very accommodating
It is ok to go out and have a good time with friends, good service, but very noisy.
Really fun place with live music. Took family and it was great!
It's a frat bar parading as a gastropub. Food is nothing special. Loud space, unpleasant staff who seem bothered you showed up. I wouldn't return.
Staff was very helpful and friendly. Initially, the only table available was a bar table right outside the bathrooms. We sat there and as soon as something else was available, the staff offered a booth in main dining area. We split a French dip, truffle fries and a salad which were delicious.
I don't know which was better the food or the service since they were both outstanding! Will definitely be going back anytime we're in Charlston.
Food, Service, and atmosphere terrific. 6 top tables would be nice. We were slightly cramped in the booth. Will definitely return!!
The Bavarian pretzel and short rib poutine were amazing. The service was sub par.
They did a wonderful job accommodating our large group! It rained right before and although our table was reserved for outdoor dining they moved us indoors!
The outside seating was great. There was a private party that had the upstairs balcony reserved and a band started playing around 9pm, the music on the patio was playing also so it sounded terrible. The patio got busy around that time and people started coming out there to smoke. But overall we had a very positive experience and would definitely go back!
We made a reservation very last minute, but were seated right away and received our food and drinks in a timely manner. Though they were busy, our waitress did not forget to check in and ask if we needed anything. We both got the steak frites and they were fantastic! Good portion size - did not feel over full but was able to finish the meal! Will definitely be coming back.
