Making a reservation is absolutely pointless. We had an 8:30 reservation and upon arriving at the restaurant, there happened to be 6 other 8:30 reservations. Which resulted in our wait being one hour
Reservations from 8:00 on were cancelled by Koi without notice. That included ours. We had no notification of the cancellation and got there 7:45. We were put on a very long list to wait. There were people there with 7:00 reservations that were not yet seated when we left at 8:20. If they are not able to honor reservations, they need to remove themselves as available for reservations. While we love Koi’s food, this was not a good business move in my opinion.
Soup cold waiter did not know menu smoked salmon raw steak raw not rare slow service never will go back terrible food 🥘
They were very busy tonight but the food was still wonderful. Can’t complain!
They don’t have enough staff or cooks to keep up with weekend volume. Checking in was a nightmare even with a reservation because the front person was out walking around doing the seating for the entire darned place. For example, a 6:30 reservation only had us acknowledged at 6:50, and then seated at 7:10, so what’s the point? We were there for almost three hours and had one set of beverages refilled, and the food took a literal eternity to come out.
Flip side, the waitress was wonderful. The food was amazing too, which I’m thankful for. Booth was nice (if you get the ones without the lamp cover, it’s like the sun is hovering 12 inches from your face, lol).
It’s definitely an OK place, and really really clean, even in the public areas, just everywhere else’s service is way better for probably 20% less the price too.
This place is great! The decor is very tasteful. The food is wonderful. I get hibachi and my husband loves sushi and we’ve never been disappointed at Koi.
We were looking for something different for Christmas night. KOI was a pleasant change from normal Chinese food and had the added benefit that my grandson could avoid soy products to which he is allergic.
Best japanese in Augusta area
The restaurant was very cute and clean. The food was tasty.
This is the best hibachi in Augusta!!
Great experience! New favorite hibachi restaurant in CSRA.
The Dinner Club visited Koi for the first time on Saturday evening, and it rivals its synonymous high-end restaurants in LA and Las Vegas. The food was very good with a wide variety of sushi, hibachi-grilled options, well-made drinks and attentive but discreet service. Price reflected an exceptional value for the fresh, well-prepared, delicious food.
Best hibachi in town!
The food was very good the service was fantastic and the portions were enormous; very enjoyable experience I highly recommend this place
Had an Open Table reservation for 6:30. Arrived a few minutes early. Host nowhere to be seen. After about 5 minutes, she came up and checked us in, said it would be another 15 minutes. Okay.... waited.....waited.... 15 comes and goes....20....25......30. People walking in after get seated. Issue, I went back to podium, Manager spoken with. He went "to get a table ready". Another 5 minutes, hostess seats another group just coming theu door. That's it. We went to our neighborhood sushi place, seated immediately. Won't go back to Koi.
Very fresh sushi, used high quality meats for hibachi. Overall good value, we'll be back!
The food was well seasoned the chef was very interactive and the sushi was amazing
